Skagit Anchor Placement Exercise

Practicing getting your anchor set correctly will improve your spey casting. Short Skagit heads make setting the anchor easy.
1. Start with the line on the dangle, rod tip on the water.
2. LIFT the tip to a 45 degree angle.
3. Keep rod tip high, move the top hand upstream and skate the line upstream
4. Drop the rod tip and flop the line to the water in front of you.
5. You want the joint of the Skagit head and sink tip in front of you.
