- Routine change of the transmission oil in my John Deere A. It wasn't too bad but it is certainly good to change every couple of years. At a minimum, let it sit and try and get the water out by cracking the drain plug.
Nice and easy to follow, as usual. That's a nice A. It runs really nice.
Thanks for doing this video. Really helped me out. Always nice to have an idea of what you're doing beforehand. :)
Nice looking old A!
Thank you! She's a little rough but I love the hand start and steel cut offs. I might have someone paint her up some day and getting her look really nice
Dan, when you put the plugs back in do you use Teflon tape for the threads?
No. My G was leaking the other day a little but I found out the plug wasn't all the way in. That oil is pretty thick so if the plug is in tight it shouldn't leak.
@@DanielFarmChannel Thanks Dan
How much diesel did you drive around with?
Probably 5 gallons.
What transmission oil did you use?
80W-90 gear oil
@@DanielFarmChannel thought it was supposed to be sae 140?
@@12799MaDeuce either or. The 140W is thicker so it's less likely to leak, but both will do the job. I just simply find 80-90w at the local store.
owners manual states 80 for winter, 90 for hot summer. 7 gallons.
I hope he filled up one with engine oil and the other one with deer oil
Is specifically the regular diesel oil
