Hi Dave, that's awesome to hear! I was back in Glasgow on Sunday, cycled from Inverness to Glasgow, a route for a new book I am working on. Great place to explore!
Hi Jim, thanks a lot for watching and the feedback. That exactly is what inspired us to make this film. There is so much good riding around Scotland, but I really loved the contrasts on those routes. Hopefully more in 2022.
Brilliant film, perfectly captures the spirit of adventure! Some of the best days on a bike are breaking from the familiar and just following a route, not knowing what is coming next! More videos please 🙏🏻
Hey Chris, thanks so much for your feedback, glad you liked the film. And there is another one in the editing suite as we speak, this time travelling to Argyll's islands. And we are hoping to ride a few more boundary routes in 2022 too. Thanks for watching!
That was beautiful. The mix of the natural and man made really gets me...had a wee tear must admit... those giant horse heads are bonkers! Fantastic film guys 👍
Thanks a lot! Especially the Falkirk route was really interesting for the mix of man-made and natural features. And Glasgow surprised us by the amount of small woodlands we encountered along the route. Glad you liked the film!
That sounds super interesting! I am sure it'll be a hilly route, with stunning coast line. Loved Cornwall when I documented GBDURO this year, hoping to be back soon!
Great film and concept! Years ago I used to work outdoors in the Ochils and commuted by bike/train from Edinburgh so I'm glad to see a film shining a light on the area. In fact it was during this time that I once met Markus on a train back from Stirling to Edinburgh. There were never many people bringing a bike on that route so I often got talking to the few people who did on my journey. I remember Markus had a bike laden with bikepacking bags and at the time (probably around 2014) I hadn't seen such a set up as bikepacking hadn't really gone mainstream yet. Keep up the good work, creating and documenting routes!
Wow, and I fondly remember the commute. That's why I was really chuffed when we were back, taking the train from Waverley at about the same time I normally took it in the morning. I have also included a route in the Ochils in my Great Gravel Rides Britain which is currently being edited, so looking forward to have that out too. Thanks a lot for watching!
Excellent short film guys which makes me want to explore this bit of Scotland plus my own local boundaries in Pendle and Lancashire...why not, a great concept by two inspirational bike adventurers! Cool background Music too.
Thanks Steve! More eclectic music choice this time, which fitted with the rides. That’s a great idea, and exactly what would be great to see. We were amazed how much of an adventure we had on those rides.
Yepp, looked into that. Even with just the inhabited islands it would be long, but I am just working on a film/route across Mull, Jura, Islay and Bute, which will be live soon too (:
@@reizkultur Bute is great to cycle around, I moved from Devon 5 years ago and I call Bute ‘Devon on an Island!’ Done it a few times from here in Dunoon. Mark B and Hank LW with GCN did a programme gravel cycling on Islay and Jura 👍🏽 If you want a hand on Bute give me a shout👍🏽
Lovely film - I recognised many bits of it from my cycle trips last year when I cycled the John Muir way with my kids West to East and down to Berwick. Then loving the views so much, I came back and solo'd Dunbar back across to Edinburgh and up to Perth. I just wish I had more free time and it was closer so I could just impulse ride more around there!
Oh I do look forward to seeing that for more ideas then! Whilst I sheltered in the Dundee Cycle hub after a rather wet ride from St Andrews - I grabbed some of their freebie maps of the area for the next time I'm in the area. I'm sure one way or another I'll be back around there!
Brilliant film and really captures some of the great routes you can do on a gravel bike with a bit of imagination and map research! Hopefully you do SLC boundary? Loads of gravel bike routes here to choose. Same with East Dunbartonshire too. D&G would be another excellent one to do. 👍
Hi Greig, thanks a lot for your nice feedback. Dumfries and Galloway is on the ideas list, and I would love to do South Lanarkshire as well, as it looks like gravel heaven. I have almost finished my book about gravel rides in the UK, and D&G will be featured in there, and some more lesser known places in Scotland.
Loved the film. Feeling such bikespiration! Wondering what kind of pot is that you're using around 15:30. Is it collapsible? Also, are your routes on Komoot? Would be awesome to give one a go!
Hey Dene, thank you. Have a look on the Bikepacking Scotland website, under routes and Explore Your Boundaries - there’s a Komoot collection with all files. Otherwise send me a message and I can send them.
Hi Kevin, I have just added the website address where they can be downloaded in the description. The routes are all in a Komoot collection on the Bikepacking Scotland website.
Ace film folks ❤️🏁🏁
Thank you!
Another brilliant film by Markus
Thank you Simon! Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely film from two of the best long distance specialists.
Some classic dad dancing at 10:54 too.
Top stuff!
Hey Phil, thanks for watching - one of those frames that needed to be in (:
Hugely enjoyable! 😁👍🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️
Thanks a lot David!
Fabulous video loved seeing some familiar places in Glasgow, some of those drone shots we're amazing. Certainly love to explore more boundaries. 👍👍

Excellent film guys and beautifully made of the country around my back and front yard.
Thanks a lot Ken!
Glorious ... now on the extensive list! Thank you!
Glad to hear that, thanks for watching Dave.
Great video, what a brilliant concept. Cracking bit of fiddle music at the start 👍
That’s lovely feedback Alec, thanks a lot!
What a great inspirational film exploring places by bike, even if it is just round the block is the way to do it.
Hi Jim, thanks a lot for watching and the feedback. That exactly is what inspired us to make this film. There is so much good riding around Scotland, but I really loved the contrasts on those routes. Hopefully more in 2022.
Superb film & concept.
Thanks a lot Hugh!
Fantastic film there - such an interesting concept for new rides - something else to stick onto my list :)
Thanks for watching David!

Great film. I know and ride a few sections of these routes. It’s good to see them getting some appreciation.
Hey Bill, glad you liked it. And agreed, those areas often get overlooked, we loved cycling there!
Great film and idea. Will have to try a route when I can.
Thanks for watching. And yes! We loved cycling them!
Fantastic, well done!
Thank you team Wild Scotland!
Absolutely fabulous guys!!!
Thanks a lot! It was such a great project to work on - and showcases parts of Scotland which are fab for cycling.
That was beautiful. The mix of the natural and man made really gets me...had a wee tear must admit... those giant horse heads are bonkers! Fantastic film guys 👍

Really enjoyed this film. Love the idea of exploring off the beaten track on two wheels.
Thanks Richard. We are hoping to ride a few more this year too - and I am quite intrigued how this would look like in other countries too.
👌🙏
I have something planned in Cornwall, inspired by following these adventures on insta. Excellent video, as usual.
That sounds super interesting! I am sure it'll be a hilly route, with stunning coast line. Loved Cornwall when I documented GBDURO this year, hoping to be back soon!
Another great film and has inspired me to go and look at a map to see if I can do something similar around my own home county.
Awesome to hear!

wow! nicely done :)
Thank you Laurent!
Some familiar places there - I'm so fortunate to live overlooking the Ochils...
A fab place - stunning and challenging. We some proper winds, but the views!!!! Amazing! Thanks for watching!
Boundary of here in Argyll and Isles would take a year 😂
great vid, thanks.

Lovely film - someone will be very excited to see their guest appearance at 12:50
Hi Neal, glad you liked it. We should send a wee card over (:

That's fab to hear Terry! We are hoping to either ride the Angus or Perthshire boundaries this year as well, which will be a challenge.

Makes me want to go for a ride...
That‘s nice to hear!
Cracking film yet again, guys! You might just make an adventurer out of this roadie one of these days 😉
I think you are a true adventurer already Stephen! Thanks a lot for watching!
Loved the film. Feeling such bikespiration! Wondering what kind of pot is that you're using around 15:30. Is it collapsible? Also, are your routes on Komoot? Would be awesome to give one a go!
Hi Rob, thanks for watching. Yepp, that's a Sea To Summit X-Pot, and it does a fab job. Recommended!
Great video! Where can I get these gpx files to try the routes for myself?
Hey Dene, thank you. Have a look on the Bikepacking Scotland website, under routes and Explore Your Boundaries - there’s a Komoot collection with all files. Otherwise send me a message and I can send them.
Got them! Thanks.
Hi! I might have missed it but are the routes available to see (and try!)
Hi Kevin, I have just added the website address where they can be downloaded in the description. The routes are all in a Komoot collection on the Bikepacking Scotland website.
@@reizkultur awesome thanks!
Awesome documentary thanks! The first 3 min was hard to get through with that music... My poor ears
Glad you liked it. And thanks for sticking with it even when the music didn't suit you, I guess the second track was a bit more pleasing on the ears?
