- Visit www.themobilityguy.com to get in touch with me! In today's video we're fixing a Pride Colt Deluxe mobility scooter. The customer reported that it suddenly stopped working and we were therefore called out to sort the scooter out.
We noticed there was oxidization on the main dashboard panel which had me suspicious of what the fault was, turns out we were right and were able to get the scooter working again.
We didn't have a replacement part to sort this scooter out but came up with a solution that allowed this customer to use their scooter again.

I have a electric cabin scooter twist and go all power is working batteries are full but no power going in to drive or reverse.any advice could be motor problem or wired issue .
Have one of these... those are powerful batteries. It's not used that much so decided after using it this fall I take it on our local trail and drain the battery. This thing went miles and miles to get it to just 2 amber lights. Took some 8 hours to charge back up (nice and slow, the way to go)
On another mobility scooter, the throttle arm was loose. So even at full, it would go rather slow. So there is this tiny Allen nut that hold that arm to the throttle (variable speed control), just tighten it just snug. Good for another two years !
Those key switches are $10 - $35 (US) on a few sites. Going to a Mobility site.. I bet would be way more.

I was watching a video I have in a playlist and seen your video in my side screen, wondering what happened. I have this same 4-wheel scooter bought it directly from Pride about 5 years ago, it's blue. Never had any issues with it but also don't leave it out to corrode, it came with a cover...

I'm in California and wish you were near by. I have had my scooter for a long time, but have used it once or twice a year, maybe a total of 15 times. I need to start using it more. I bought a new battery and charged it. Suddenly, the scooter turns on fine when i plug it in, but doesn't work on battery. I've tried sever easy things after watching yt videos. Fuse is good. It beeps 10 quick times when power is turned on. Thoughts?

Used a key switch for a Ford tractor which I got from the local feed store. It was a perfect fit.
Is there a speedometer that can be fitted to any mobility scooter? I have a quingo plus, and they don't do them.
Not good to keep scooters outside. Doesn't help the battery. Outside kills them quickly due to the cold.

hello i got problem wiyj my scooter its not powering on the scooter called eden roadmaster plus im in uk it was working perfectly fine but for no reason its gas stoped i cant even get started nothing no power anywhere no display showwing nothing what you thing what the problem its theter please
Nice route of elimination process! I've gone through everything that I can think of to try and fix a Solax Genie but its still not moving. Its has an 8 beep error code after pulling accelerator which for this ecu says ' Motor voltage fault, so I've checked the cables to the motor which are fine after battery testing the motor and checking resistance and has secure connection to the ecu. Could this error come up if the ecu was faulty and just not putting out any power to the motor? I just don't want to fork out for a new ecu just for the sake of elimination. Hope you can help, thanks

Hi. I would say they would hold 30 amps and may be rated to 50 amps even. If you are replacing them then I would advise going for the 50 rating just to be safe. These scooters have decent weight limits and can handle decent size hills too so I’d be surprised if it’s rated any lower than 30amp.
I I found an identical key switch replacement for my Active Care Prowler 3410 at my local Jay Car Electronics store at Botany Road Alexandria. It was Cheaper than the genuine replacement part. I walker into the store and there it was hanging on a hook for $15 AD
Total power loss? My first check: fuses. Nex: check batteries at all locations. Last: chase voltage through wires, continuity test on ignition switch, or resistance.
My mum's got the same scooter, when she rides the power light goes to red when you let go it climbs back up to green. Is this a battery issue. So all lights green but when you ride it they drop to red. Is there to much power being pulled from batteries? Any help would be amazing

I did check the barrel but mine is okay. I heard you mention the wiring... Do the connectors disconnect on these? Any connector in particular? The battery packs have power going into the tower unit as checked with a multimeter. So just wondering where to check next... I haven't taken the floor pan up yet as was hoping it may be something simple. Just no battery / power light display and nothing is working so I just hope it's not the controller 😢

I have a breeze midi old version and when I turn it off at key the back lights stay on only red ones not reversing ones ? I’m trying to get tiller open to make sure nothing Is loose or wet but all screws are out and it won’t budge ?
Check the mirrors aren’t retaining the dash if it’s coming off from the top. I’d assume top dash needs to come off before pulling main front cover off.
I think there’s a separate control board located in the dash / front section that manages lights , etc
Failing that try disconnecting the lights switch on the dash to see if it resolves , if this turns out to be the issue just a case of replacing switch

Can I use a 36v battery on a sterling s425 24v scooter?
You should only use 24v on a 24v scooter, nothing more than that as you’ll run into issues with the controller plus a whole lot more hassle on top. Keep to the original voltage , you can however increase the size of the batteries if there’s space to do it, as long as they stay 12v each
Can you tell me, I have celerity deluxe scooter only one speed, the x sport has two speeds, there are spare wires in the dash, would I be correct to say they are for the missing speed switch, that the x sport has?????
Possibly , how many wires are there and what colour ? Usually a pair of white wires for the 4mph/8mph switch

Is there any lights on the dash flashing? Have you checked the scooter isn’t in “neutral” (the brake at the back of the scooter )
