About 20 minutes later my one girlfriend Mildred told me to slowly look around. I did that and here I was nose to nose with your dad Jackie Wilson. The most important part of this story is that I saw your grandmother first and you look exactly like her. she smiled beautifully at me and your dad gave me the most beautiful smile too. He was in my hair because I was wearing honeysuckle by Avon. I turned back around and I could feel his nose at the back of my head again for over an hour. At the end of the show I walked up the steps got to the exit turned around and there he was still smiling at me and your grandmother gave me a note. Oh my God what a mom and son. I can relate to that. I was 35, my dad was 65 when he passed away. I also was very, very close to my dad. He was like my best friend. I was so distraught when he passed away. And to this day I still miss him. He was a GOOD MAN! I know that one day I will see my Dad during the resurrection that God promises. That’s how I get my comfort through God. He’s the God of all comforts. Jehovah God! And thanks to his son, Jesus Christ!

I met Jackie Wilson through Elvis, learning about the singers that Elvis loved.
The first time I heard Jackie Wilson singing, it was the song You'll Never Walk Alone, I was breathless because Jackie's voice is incredibly similar to Elvis' voice, but at the same time it's totally different; Jackie really had a voice of great depth and beauty, a unique voice, emotional, too powerful, a personality of its own. Listening to Jackie singing fills me with emotion and also brings me great sadness, because in the middle of the internet age, a singer with Jackie's majesty was covered by a fog in the eyes of young people who, today, prefer to listen to any crap instead of looking for who really fills us with pride for their talent and quality.
Elvis Presley, Jackie Wilson, Fats Domino, B.B King, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, James Brown, are the singers from the United States that are at the top of my list of tastes.

One of my favourite songs in the movie, "Goodfellas" is by Billy Ward and the Dominoes. They play it at the beginning of the 1963 Idlewild airport scene. I had no idea Jackie Wison was in this group! Makes complete sense, though. Vocally, he is a perfect fit!

I used to live in the Hawaiian Islands and I knew Robert and Roland of which Bobby Wilson spoke. Used to work with one of their female cousins, and have a gold pendant of the state seal made by another of their cousins. Small world. I have always been a Jackie Wilson fan...
