- Ninon de Vere De Rosa talks with Bobby Wilson about his incredible journey to honor his late father, music legend Jackie Wilson, through remarkable stage creation and tribute performances. Bobby found out he was Jackie Wilson's son after his father's death. Bobby never met his father because he was given up to the foster system when he was born. Bobby has a documentary entitled "The Last Teardrop" which follows Bobby's journey from tribute performances to discovering he is the son of Jackie Wilson and family drama involving some of soul music's biggest names, such as The Four Tops and James Brown. We were on a Cruise in February 2024 and saw Bobby perform. I went back and saw the show a second time. He was unbelievable!! We got to meet him after the show and had our picture taken with him. I am a fan for life!! Love you Bobby!!!!

I definitely think God had a lot to do with this man finding out who his father was and actually allowing him to be so much like his father. I like the fact that this man, Bobby, continues to acknowledge God in all he does; he gives God the glory and anytime God does things for us, it is very important to give God the glory, which this man continues to do.

Personally met Bobby Wilson on the Soul Train Cruise in January, 2024. What an amazing entertainer and most of all a wonderful, personable human being...and he actually complimented me after I sang "Hello Stranger" at karaoke- sigh!! I was fortunate to see Bobby’s show in New Jersey, and I am a fan for life. What a fabulous performance so full of energy and love for the audience. Bobby really is tops I can’t say enough good things about him. Some of his family were there and I forget the name he gave his posse of the dancers on stage, they were great too!

I remember when his father was performing, recording music and doing interviews. Bobby looks, sounds, has mannerisms, movements and a singing voice almost identical to his father, the late great Jackie Wilson. It goes to show that we inherit so much more than just our looks.

Great story. I too was a foster kid thankfully my mother’s sister raised me and my sister after a family tragedy. I love that he acknowledges his step mother’s love and Gods love in his life.

NNd interview, how does that work, I saw this singing j III ant perform, He was a titan, I saw him on at age 14,At the orphium theatre in 1957 when I was 14yrs old this was a 7 act show he e was the last act, he came up on a revolving stage with Count Basie and his orchestra he jumped off the stage and through sweat,from his body there were two men standing next to him on the chorus, they hit hisface to cool him down, o he could fiih the song a girl hung off the balcony screaming o loud I thought I would be deaf going home.

Profiles in Pittsburgh Allegheny County PA in 1967 I went to a show called The Regal theater on 79th Street in Chicago I had two girlfriends that took me there and I watched the ax Chuck Jackson from Pittsburgh best singing on stage. My girlfriend Mildred Merriweather told me to slowly turn my head I did that beautiful lady smiled at me and I looked a little more and there was my nose and Jackie Wilson's nose almost touching each other he smiled at me and I realized that had to be his mother excuse me he looked just like her. I turned my head back around enjoy the rest of the show. When it was over I got up to walk away. When I got to the exit door I look down had them still sitting in the balcony they were looking at me and smiling weather night that was because I knew that was Jackie Wilson I had sprayed honeysuckle by Avon in my hair I guess that's what he likes press his head within my hair for the hour of the show. Hallelujah amen God bless you I know how he looks and I you look just like your grandmother.
