I just bought 2 on eBay. One for $6.70 inc shipping and one for $10.67 inc shipping. Both work perfectly. My original unit cost $189.00 when they first came out.
Neato, thanks. I was lookin at the microsd slot thinking it was some weird serial port. I got one for free, with the plastic still on the screen so I figure it's worth trying to figure out. I thought it was ancient, and it is a bit out of date. If it has a microsd it can't be that old. Score. I don't have that cute lil stand for it though. U-turn on the freeway, LOL. Whatever works.
I have one and recently the screen comes on blurry and has a white screen but the screen isnt damaged what could cause that or do i have to take out the battery and put it back in or just get a new one
hey man, my garmin will not speak. Tried everything, and I am not sure what I am doing wrong... it is not muted and volume is turned all the way up... can you help me?
that model is total crap. It has plastic fastners on the board that become brittle and crack. I had two of them go out on me within three years because the brittle plastic circuit board clips literally dissolved into dust and left the ribbon cable with no way to stay on the board. Engineered failure. Stay away from Garmin, they are pieces of shit that are made to not last a minute beyond it's warranty. As to the "done" button, it's a huge failure on all Garmins. Another engineered fail. If that stops working, you have to replace the gps.
@aerral no, it has a built in antenna to receive signal from the satellites

@busterbdragon That little hole is a microphone. it's used when you connect your phone via bluetooth. I have the 1490.
Thank you for taking the time to make thus video. It is useful!
Hi Buster. Thanks for the review. Owners Manual can be found and downloaded from Garmin's website.
Good Luck.

Yeah bcuz most gps are resistive touchscreens that are not meant for finger tapping. It needs stylus to work properly..
Great review. I just picked one of these up. I don't know if it's the same model though
