If i gave one bitch about console 1.. i wish they would bring back the old buttons in the plug window. it looked just like the console 1 knobs. sorry for bad spelling
Quick tip about Sends with Console 1 and Reaper. It recognizes the first six Sends you have in the Send section of each channel in Reaper. The top position is Send 1, and you can put up to six effect Sends there, which are directly accessible through Console 1's send functionality. However, if you're sending to another channel in Reaper, Reaper will make that the first Send. Consequently, Console 1 will regard that as Send 1. This means you can't have six effect Sends in that case. Instead, you'll have one channel Send at the top (Send 1) and five effect Sends underneath it. Just keep this in mind when setting up your Sends!
I'm in Ableton Live (12 Suite) for production. I love Console 1, but I also love my old AKAI APC40. When the new Softube Fader is released I will have to check out whether it offers the possibility to change multiple sends (of multiple tracks) at once - without using the trackfaders for it (because I like to adjust volume while I'm dialing in sends). This is really important to me, because I am used to dialing in multiple sends at the same time - it helps me find the sweetspot. Once they integrate 2 send-knobs per Channel (on top of the volume-fader) the Fader will become a must buy for me. Until then, I will stick to my old AKAI APC40 (its faders are meh, but its knobs are very good; also I can use it to control Plugins by mapping the knobs and saving it).
There are so many workflow enhancements they could do. I really hope the users of Console 1 mk3 send feedback and ideas. For instance the "reset to default by double tapping" feature, is way too dangerous. Instead that feature should be behind the shift key + double tap. Or it could be triple tap.. I'd also like a way to much more easily bypass all tracks console 1 instances to see where I'm currently at. As it's now, it takes quite a bit of finger acrobatics. Finally I'd also want a custom way to customize the acceleration/sensitivity of the knobs and have a way to save a few custom templates for this. It would come in handy when you want to use the controller for mastering where you do not want to make any big moves. Also the SHIFT function should be used a lot more. For instance it could be used for the input gain section with auto compensation of volume going out of the pre section. As it stands now, when you want to really drive hard into the preamp, everything else post the preamp will have way too much level.. many of the compressors even at their highest threshold will be compressing a lot. Things like these could be optimized and the workflow vastly improved.
You missed the coolest feature..... Press Shift + Bypass = Vega mode. Press Shift + Bypass again = PONG the video game. The input gain and volume knob become the controllers.
That workflow must feel amazing, even with you're eyes closed while mixing, only thing it's such a pity that it doesn't support all vst's and doesn't come with fabfilter bundle or something and it's just the simulation of a preamp and no real hardware inside but can't rly complain for the price ig :/
I spoke with Softube.. as i use it is Shift + Display (Auto On) Button on the console or Fader's Track button + Solo for MIDI MODE. I use MKi and MKII though, not MKIII but assume same thing. (Until they.. if they release midi mode as an additional Plugin they hinted!)
Tell me more! I have a Mk I & two Mk IIs. When they initially were promoting the Mk III, in the videos we could see a "Midi Mode". I asked then but did not get confirmation.
@@G_handle He replied about this from that video (plugin midi mode) you mention, and he said it was not clear IF they would release it, only that they worked on it.
It would be really great if you could put another plugin (Soothe, Kickstart, ...) between the individual Console-1 effects. This would be possible, for example, if Softube offered individual plugins such as Softube EQ, Softube Compressor, etc., which you could then load into a track in any order (with other plugins in between) and then control all active Softube plugins in the Softube GUI. But I don't think Softube wants or plans to use this type of usage, not even in the future.
I already own the SSL UC1. I'm pretty sure SSL UC1 software "Link" allows you to map any MIDI controlled plugin to it? If Console 1 can only be used with select plugins that have to be approved by Softube, then I don't see how this controller will survive in the long run against the competition.
I'm interested in this journey Wytse - a question I can't find the answer to anywhere is how the Console 1 workflow handles inserts with either outboard or unsupported plugins? i think the one thing that ruins controllers like this for me is the lack of being able to multitask, like how you can adjust multiple eqs at once on a tradition console because all of your channels strips are right there, or how in a daw you can select multiple things at once or even just move from effect to effect fast with a mouse, i always find daw controllers to just slow down my workflow and its a shame because theyre so close to being perfect but then fall short from some silly quirk (for example the icon fader controllers only being able to solo one channel at a time), that being said im really impressed at how console one handles fabfilter, its cool that theres a display for them on the controller, and support for uad is pretty cool too, im a huge fan of the api channel strip plugin and it would be cool to have hands on control of that plugin, it makes me hopeful for the future of daw controllers

Please put some lipstick on matching the fingernail colors. That would be so sweet.
Its time to change the intro spot.. I'm always skip it because I get used to
At least it’s not that long
3rd party plugins? 🤔
🔥
Looks nice , but no Reason support
I prefer the cs12
i think the one thing that ruins controllers like this for me is the lack of being able to multitask, like how you can adjust multiple eqs at once on a tradition console because all of your channels strips are right there, or how in a daw you can select multiple things at once or even just move from effect to effect fast with a mouse, i always find daw controllers to just slow down my workflow and its a shame because theyre so close to being perfect but then fall short from some silly quirk (for example the icon fader controllers only being able to solo one channel at a time), that being said im really impressed at how console one handles fabfilter, its cool that theres a display for them on the controller, and support for uad is pretty cool too, im a huge fan of the api channel strip plugin and it would be cool to have hands on control of that plugin, it makes me hopeful for the future of daw controllers
Why are you wearing that?
And he could ask
Why are you not wearing that?
It strikes me as a very good way to weed out people who don't belong here.
Had to doublecheck if this wasn’t a 4y old video but better late than never i guess
It took softube a long time to ship my unit
