That could be an interesting challenge. I'm willing to bet there are story moments where you are forced to bathe, but a no baths playthrough could be a fun challenge.
I have seen other reviews that were clearly by people who had not played the original. They described things as being new to this game that are in KC1. Nice to see a knowledgeable one.

I just discovered and started playing KCD 1 and it’s awesome. Got nothing bad to say about it. Just got druk with priest Godwin and it’s one of the most memorable game experiences I have had. The game is so immersive and fun. I’ll enjoy this till part 2 comes out.
The gear thing would be a great help. I was so frustrated to scroll for my gear manually whenever I went from combat to stealth gear in KCD1. Especially when there were no favorited or any markings to label your gear vs loot you'd sell. Thankfully, half of my combat gear was the "Lord of Leipa" ones, so easy to find. In addition, long reach weapons would be a better weapon for horseback. Though, I hope they're working on a 'charge' attack (like in jousting) rather than spamming stab attacks when running towards an enemy.
I am very happy with the news about the pre programmed outfit choices. That is so good for roleplay, and gameplay reasons. Huge quality of life improvement.
KC 1 was ungodly hard at first. But I stuck with it and managed to finished it after all the side quests. Probably did 3 runs, 4 when the DLCs kicked in. Will be waiting with anticipation for KC 2. Looking forward to more shenanigans with Hans Capon.
On the point of the diversity of peoples in Kuttenberg, I noticed something on the map when they were showing it off. If you watch the first dev stream, when they zoom into the map where the little character illustrations appear, you'll notice two men with funny looking hats that look like yellow bells or hats with tall knobs sticking up from the top of them. From what I could tell, these are medieval Jewish hats so add that to the list of people in the game. I tried to find more info about the history of Kuttenberg but from what I can tell the only recorded ghetto in Bohemia was in Prague. Either way, it's worth making a note of. I'm trying to see what else I can figure out from the other illustrations. I have a feeling that all the small details and characters of that map have some significance to the game so it would be neat to try and figure out what they all mean.
i preordered the Gold Edition. I'm just not that into physical collectables, which is strange because I'm a bit of a completionist in-game which is why i still haven't finished the main story of the first game.
Id love the collectors addition, but i dont have enough money for it, plus i had already preorder a gold addition before i heard about the collector addition
If they really do target unprotected body parts, that means i can't just get around in my Nobleman's hose anymore, haha. I've played KCD for over 500 hours, and i can't remember bleeding from the legs too many times.
I believe they are regular weapons that are handled in the same way as the large war crossbows. You can keep them in your inventory, but they are slow to fire, and probably can't be used on horseback.
That's the beuty of quality of life mods. People can tweak gameplay aspects to perfectly match their exact preference, hopefully without spoiling the experience for themselves. My first playthrough is always vanilla, but after that i like to experiment.
@ I just started the first game like last week. It is really fun. I didn’t really start to get a hang of the combat until my second play through which I just started yesterday. I just kept flailing around so much. I have an unlimited save mod and just a couple console commands I use to soften the survival elements. But overall the game is one of the best I’ve played in quite some time. The story is absolutely phenomenal and they did a good job of wanting to make me play the second.
I did about everything thought the play though and side quests and still only maxed out a few perks I hope this game I get to be maxed out by the end of
The timing shortly before hitting an enemys head is not good, they should work on that. It looks too much as if what happens next was scripted. Just a small note.

Digital rights management (DRM) is the use of technology to control and manage access to copyrighted material. Another DRM meaning is taking control of digital content away from the person who possesses it and handing it to a computer program. DRM aims to protect the copyright holder’s rights and prevents content from unauthorized distribution and modification. It's basically a constant or intermittent internet connection requirement that prevents people from pirating or altering the game by not allowing you to play if your game can't verify however frequently they design it to. It's typically a feature used for multiplayer games in an attempt to prevent hacking, although it is often used in single player games to prevent piracy. Either way, it is not present in KCD2.
They haven't mentioned the steam deck to the best of my knowledge, but the first game was released on it years after the initial release, and i heard it performed well, although, i never tried it on steam deck myself.

If you're fighting multiple opponents, you will move back and try to counter only. Everything else is a bad idea. 2. Riding felt very gamey. Very crude. 3. First person only. The position of the camera made the game harder then it would be in 3rd person. I bought the game 4 years after it released, and apparently it had lots of bugs on release.
The game was fairly buggy on release. I was so in love with it, that even on PS4, which is where i started with KCD, that i overlooked a lot that i likely wouldn't have with a lesser game. But, by the time they started releasing DLC, it was a fairly well polished experience, and even at it's worst, it was always playable.
