Man. That stuff all looks so chintsy and delicate. Great idea trusting your life to a cheaply constructed thin rod-end that is subjected to severe repeated strain cycles. Or, maybe the main rotor will just cut off the whole tail boom. Helicopters are so much fun!
Hello, Jake Clark and other helicopter pilots. Does a tail rotor auto re-center to it's center position when you release the foot pedal? Or should I ask were they spring loaded so that it will return to center position upon releasing the foot pedal? Does the cyclic spring loaded as well? Does it return to center like those computer joysticks? Thank you in advance.
Very informative video! Is this Tail Rotor Gear Box mechanism used specifically for the R22 model, or does it apply to most helicopters? like the AH-1Z for example.

For ground maintenance, is it permissible to turn the tail rotor to turn the main rotor?
