Man, I can't wait to see this bird fly! This is my longest series, that I've watched. I know that it's getting close to being finished! I'm stoked! 💯

Holy cow. I was trying to find "Part 63" last night. I have binge watched every episode in the last two days. This build has been quite amazing to watch. Your CNC skills and lathe work are amazing.

Very courageous work - adding thrust bearings in the tail blade holders would have been a good idea IMHO

    Quick tip.
When you have threads die cut and want to make sure there are no stress risers, use a 2.5 or 3mm radius tool and put a round bottom groove in the bar/component where you want thread to end.
Go to depth of thread or up to 0.05mm deeper
You seem to be using standard metric threads so it's easy to look up online.
I worked on motorcycles where component failure is only slightly less chance of being fatal (depending on component of course 😉)

It seems like there are a lot of professors teaching flight classes. Although it is true that the one who speaks the least is the one who does the most.

    Clean parts way better.
    Radius on all corners .
    Clean parts way better.
    Clean them again.
    Clean once more.
Take the extra time to metal fininsh all your parts .
    And radius.
Helps to make cracks visible if something does.
    Then clean your parts again.
Be sure to wear a parachute in this beast

Job well done👍🏻! Those guide pins from the pitch rotorhub plate, going thru the red guide plate. . . .look like they were bent a little bit & not fully straight!Thankyou for sharing. Looking forward to the tail rotor blades being built!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I know you receive a lot of criticism, from myself included but you are doing well. Not to sound like a backwards compliment, but compared to what is considered cool or popular on the internet now, this is far better. As always be safe, and embrace being creative.

Everything on the on this aircraft including the tail rotor and main rotor should be safety wired, Do not rely on Nyloc nuts.

I’d like to see more fillet rads as per aerospace norms. Square corners internally are stress raisers. It doesn’t take long to grind a 2mm corner rad on an endmill.

i dont know if this guy is totally unaware, ot does it for views but not planning to fly it. If he makes this to fly it, then i wonder why not invest in the proper equipement and learn proper design and tooling technics first, most holes are very roughly drilled with hand drill, the "CNC" with rocking wood fixture, no registration or anything. Bolts and nut pretty much from the hardware store with loctite. Hard to believe.

    • @1crazypj
      @1crazypj 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Didn't see your comment until now, I posted similar about a month ago which I guess OP has seen?
Off-hand grinding end mills (or tools in general) isn't for everyone and could possibly make things worse is clearances are wrong leading to tearing of base material. (you wouldn't believe how many 'experienced' people I've known who don't understand clearance angles for cutting tools)
I don't know about aerospace but I did train as a precision machinist in the mid 1970's and have seen stress cracks on/in various components over the years

With no delta hinge any flapping reactions on your tail rotor will damage the out put shaft.

When I was a member of a club that built and flew some of the early Rotorway Scorpion Too helicopters,we did a lot of reverse engineering on them as we started flying them.We were despised by B J Schram and the company. We had insufficient power problems with the modified Evinrude V4 Vulcan engine. The rotor rpm gauge was reading about 5% too high leading to overloading of the main blades.Blowing air into the radiator (as opposed to sucking it thru) was solved by reversing the pitch on the fan blades. We also found to build and operate them,,a complete machine shop and dolly plus trailer should be obtained first

Suggest you thoroughly clean your parts and de-swarf them before final assembly in a cleaner environment. I was wincing watching you assemble the thing with so much visible swarf lying around and still on the parts.

@@dentwatkins2193 yes, all this is beyond rhough, i remind me india and pakistan "mechanics". Flying this is certainly a pretty sure way to die fast, A good number of "african" home made helicopters are built to better standards.

    • @etapsiboookrsk24

I think it's obvious. That a person lives at the expense of a well-equipped workshop and his hands, which grow from the right place of the body, and not from the ass like many. In the masses, such hands are called golden and for a person with such hands, it will not be difficult to find a livelihood. Which is confirmed by objective facts, because he not only lives, but also finds the time and means to build a helicopter. In principle, it is available to each of us. The main thing is never to sit still in idle idleness and follow a simple rule: "If you don't know what to do, take a step forward."

That's the difference between you and the author of this thing. You are sitting on the couch and do not know what to do with yourself, and we all, including you, are watching with interest as the author of the video builds a helicopter. Moreover, he does not build at random, but creates out of nothing quite a serious machine, of the factory production level.
