Informative video, thank you.
I just bought a house, my boiler had an error....I've spent over an hour trying to sort! Founf your video and fixed it in a few seconds 🙈 Cheers from the Rhondda!
Dim Broblem!
I'm glad to help a fellow Welshy
And thanks for your comment.
You sir are gem thank you so much
Thank you
Informative video
What a legend thank you!
I don't usually comment on videos but I just wanted to say thanks very much. Big help
No problem I'm glad this has helped
Perfect just what I wanted to see. I had an error code E133 and I turned all the values and wasn't sure I put them back the right way.
You probably turned the gas (yellow) off by mistake
@@thornhillplumbing yes that's exactly what I did and then I wasn't sure if the other switches were the right way. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Had a brand new central heating system installed, with one of these boilers and this is so helpful. However, my new digital thermostat in the hallway never seems to reach the 22C that I set it at. Only ever gets up to about 17C or 18C and that is way too cold for me. Am wondering why that is, I have all the radiators on full as it is -1C outside. Maybe it just take a few days to reach the 21C. I have now turned the boiler up to 70C and hope it will reach the 22C faster.
I have the exact same issue. The temperature does not rise above 17. I hope it resolves itself.
@@rrs2854 Since I raised the boiler temp, the thermostat reaches 22C and I had to turn it down a bit as it was too hot. Hope you got yours solved
When it is very cold outside (below zero) turn the boiler temperature up to maximum. On the mildest days when you still have the heating on (14c or so outside temp) you can turn the boiler down as far as 45c.
Brilliant, just had the Baxi installed. Still a bit confused as to what the "live" thermometer is showing on the front though, when the hot water comes on it's anything up to 70oC even when set at 50oC on the panel with the knob?!
this is at the boiler not at the tap so about time it goes throught pipes and to your tap it will be at the temp you need unless your pipes go outside or very cold it should maintain the temp :)
Is there an option to turn on summer mode?
life saver
How do you turn on the heater from this boiler?
Can you tell me why my display screen is off and my heating/hot water is not working only had boiler installed today
Hello how can we turn on the display?
Thank you for sharing this
You appear to have 3 plastic pipes going to the boiler, where I would expect to see only 2. One for the condense, one for the PRV (with the tundish), what is the 3rd?
I used the 3rd plastic pipe to house / protect the cables
Why is there no off setting? Thanks.
Where did you get the 15mm to overflow tundish?

Hi can u tell me which way should all the valves be sitting ? I have an error code E 133 on my potterton boiler not lighting up . My pressure is 1.5 . ? Could u help pls
All valves should be pointing the same way as on this boiler. E133 is fault relating to boiler ignition. It is possible you have no gas or the gas isolation valve has been turned off
Just had this boiler fitted. And he told us to turn the heating down when not in use but it's still using gas? Any help appreciated thanks
You need a thermostat fitted, this calls for heat and swiches bolier off once heat is reached.
I have BAXI boiler installed 2 month ago , now the pressure is to high , how to lower or bleed radiator pressure please ? And is there any deference if the valve switch blue or black ? Thank you
The filling loop has been left open.
Please close the filling loop and drain excess pressure via a radiator bleed , or a drainoff cock making sure you catch the water!
Hi there - I have this same boiler - it’s only a few months old - I’ve always had an issue with fluctuating hot water temperature. I watch the temperature on display - it’s set at the 6 o’clock position like you have it - approx 50 degree - the temperature fluctuates up and down - the gas light comes on - it heats the water - then it goes off - and the temperature drops a lot -
The renovators on the front goes to 60 degrees then 30 degrees - and keeps cuddling doing this ? I’ve read about blocked heat exchangers - but the boiler is now. I’m in porthcawl - can you help?
Does the temperature of the water coming out of your hot tap fluctuate?
Hi, i have the Main EcoCompact boiler but doesn't have a thermostat attached. I'm noticing the central heating (CH) is always on even after putting the CH dial to minimum. Is there a way to switch off CH and only keep hot water DHW from the boiler? Thanks.
You need a thermostat fitted as it would control the heating, for example i have the salus it500 internet based programmable one which works fine.
No there is not . The boiler has a link wire fitted in the factory that has to be removed upon installation and replaced with a thermostat according to current regulations.
If this is not done then the heating will always be on constant. I advise you call your installer to rectify
same here. my installer told me this is normal
@@thornhillplumbing Hiya, I have the mobile thermostat/timer thingy but want to know how to turn the heating on constant but very low .. we’re in a terraced house so if we keep it on 20 in a room close enough to connect to the boiler, it gets freezing in the front room before it kicks back in then is molten in here before it goes off again! Upstairs is molten when it comes on! Lol plus the bathroom and kitchen are an extension so colder than the rest of the house. Hope that makes sense
Thank you 😊
Hi, did you get a reply as i have same problem with mine 😢
Hi can you tell me what it means when the lines in the middle of the display are flashing?
The lines are a picture of a radiator. When this symbol is flashing it means the heating is on
How do you set the heating to only come on at certain hours of the day? I only see a temperature dial. looks like it is always on? how do you turn heating full off like in summer?
The boiler has to be fitted with external conteols
I have the same boiler
The radiator icon on mine is always flashing but I can’t find anything online that tells me why… does anybody know please?
Is there a way to set a time on it?
Via the thermostat which has to be fitted with every boiler as per building regulations
How do I set the heating timer?
Does this boiler need a separate timer, and thermostat?
Mine has a separate thermostat/ you can put anywhere in the house and set for it come on .. no idea how to work it yet though! Lol
Edit
It’s a timer too
@@bettybarneyhill4289 Same here. Mine is the Honeywell TR3 Still trying to work out why it never heats up to the 22C I set it at. Had the heating on full blast all day and in the evening still only showed 17C. Bloody freezing I am. LOL especially as we have snow and ice here and outside is -1C
@@UnaNeary the Honeywell timer is an absolute nightmare to set up, still trying to work out how to do it,quite why Baxi hasn't got an integrated timer function is beyond me, unlike the Valiant combi boiler, which is an absolute doddle to set up!
Can a timer be added to this model?
Yes , a programmer/thermostat has to be fitted to all boilers
I have a baxi 400 combi, how do you get the water temperature higher than 60? Dial doesn’t go higher than 60 before anyone says. It’s not hot enough to do the dishes nevermind a bath. Please help.
You are running the tap too fast if the water is not hot enough for you.. the boiler cannot heat it quick enough. Try running the tap slower 👍
@@thornhillplumbing Thank you. I never thought of that.
I got same boiler but it just lost the power can u plz help me
Check the fuse in the plug/ fused spur.
Only gas Safe qualified people can take the casing offer your boiler.for.safety reasons.
I don't have those blue taps underneath I'm so confused
You may have a filling loop attached to the pipework going from the boiler , which would be a flexible steel braided pipe with two black levers.
You know the heating mode symbol (radiator)? Is it normal for it to be flashing?
I need to know this cause mine is flashing and my heaters are not working
@@wotadevil I got a reply on a different video: th-cam.com/video/1TZmBnzWZqo/w-d-xo.html
What does error 101 mean.
I've never come across this error code on this particular boiler i am sorry
On the displays radiator and water symbols non stop flyshing. And boiler non stop working. as if it didn't get enough heat..
I don’t know what should I do..Could you please help me? Thank you
Came home today and no display on boiler ive only had it 3 months
Should have stayed at the pub
On my boiler hot water coming but heating no work can anybody help me please
Change batteries in the thermostat
The display of the boiler is constantly flashing for me. Very badly done, when the money runs out, it is very difficult to restart the boiler again.
Hold reset for exactly 1 second
Yes thanks, one good tip though.@@thornhillplumbing
Thanks lol
You are very welcome lol
You didn't show how to use it 🙄 you do notice theres no on or off button
Please contact the person who installed your boiler. There should be an "on off button" you need to ask the installer. You may be referring to the thermostat or the fused spur. Both of which will have been explained to you by the person who fitted your boiler.
@@thornhillplumbing you can quite clearly see there is no power on or off on this thing, just 2 dials and a reset, useless.theres no timer or controls on this thing
@@SonicFortress there is 100% both on / off control and thermostat and timer on this particular install. The customer has been fully informed of how to use the heating system as required in the benchmark certificate. This is one of the videos I have sent her which she has kindly allowed me to share publicly.
@@thornhillplumbing where is the on/off switch?it has no power controls, only temperature, but you cannot turn it on or off as there is no power control.
@@SonicFortress yes there is. I installed it so I know there is definitely power control. Every gas boiler MUST have a means of safe electrical isolation in the same area as the boiler itself, with a means of removing the fuse carrier.
Do they have pre heat?
No
