    Hi thanks for video, can you briefly explain when setting times on and off for auto, what if you don’t want it to come on during the afternoon. For example only on in the morning and then again during the evening; what do we do with setting 3 and 4? If that makes any sense sorry.

    Great video, helped me set the timer ready for the weather getting colder. I have had it over a year and kept using manual control because I didn't really understand the instructions to set timer...I still don't know how to skip the 3 and 4 as I don't have heating on through the afternoon when I'm at work, this is the only thing that the video didn't address. So I have had to set an afternoon timer that I don't really want. Otherwise it's great 👍

    Thank you this was really helpful. Can I ask I’ve used the programme function and set it to 21.0 when it’s on and 18.0 when it’s off. Is it more cost effective to set it to a lower temperature when it’s off? Or is 18.0 okay, I just thought it would be more expensive to set it really low when it’s off and then it has to work harder to get it to 21.0 when it’s on.. hope that makes sense? Thanks!

    • @petegasguy
      @petegasguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question… and one you could probably answer by taking meter readings to see the difference.
      I guess there are lots of factors at play when finding out how long it takes to increase temperature in a home and it’d be just about impossible to answer on here.
      Depends on house size, ventilation, windows, rad sizes, doors… etc etc.
      I tend to set mine at around 15 when not at home and 20 when at home… but heating your home when you’re not there is probably a bad idea - in the majority of cases.
      Pete

    • @scentered

      @Combicert Gas it's OK, I found the answer. Unlike other timers, this doesn't have an "OFF" time. It only has a higher of lower temperature. So, setting a low temperature for when I want it to turn off will do the trick !@

To make the boiler go off ready for the next morning, do I need to lower the temperature right down so it goes off and stays off until the morning when it's set at 6:45? 🤔

      Hmmm… sounds like an issue with the receiver to me… assuming the temp is set high when you hit manual? Have you turned it right up to it’s maximum?
      I’d probably do basic checks such as the pressure on boiler etc… before looking at wiring/replacing receiver though.

    So when it’s in manual and the flame is on. Once the flame is gone Does the thermostat switch off once it has hit the temperature?? Like I mean once it hit temperature my heating goes off and if it fall below temperature my heating will come back on? Or is the heating constantly on when it on MAN mode??
    sorry really new to this I watched and set the time and date perfectly but unsure of the above question

    • @petegasguy
      @petegasguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - when it reaches temperature it will knock off… it will then refire when the temperature drops.
      Manual… if you set it to 20degrees 24/7- it’ll try and maintain 20degrees 24/7

    Is it best to keep the control in a warm room or a colder room or does it not really matter??? Thx 👍

    • @petegasguy
      @petegasguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      JPS well i guess there’s no totally correct answer to that. if the rads in a room are sized correctly and the system is balanced right - then the house SHOULD be a fairly constant temperature (assuming no rads are off...). i tend to go for the good old fashioned hallway...
      but not every house will be the same - for instance in my main house the ideal temperature is about 19degrees before i want it off... if i move the stat into the lounge from the hallway then i turn it off at about 21.
      making this into a slightly longer answer than it needs to be - but i’d go with the room with the most use - or a convenient place for the customer - let them mess about with finding their ideal temperature.

      Clues in the name mate - it’s a ‘combipack 4’ - it does heating only. For combi boilers.
      Hot water temp usually controlled at the boiler
