    Thanks for the installation vid. I got a PCB for a Vaillant Ecotec 831 for £75 and fan for £110 all fitted for £80 and it's been running for years since. Didn't need a new boiler. I do always have Main Eco Compact Combi or system as replacments.

    When cutting flue for example. One mark for measurement....then wrap a piece of paper snug and inline( quick to do) then run marker around paper 100% square everytime.

      Btw the flue's supposed to be dead on straight out the wall. The flume exhaust already has condensate fallback built in. At baxi training they said with the main eco compact the back top casing can be trimmed off to accept vertical pipework. It's why they come with the vertical pipe bracket in the box. Simple boilers to install 👍🏼

    • @PlumbingDoctors
      @PlumbingDoctors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did not know you could put the flues on straight 🤔 Ive always put them on an angle..
      &
      Yep ive heard about cutting the back casing so you can pipe behind 👍🏻

    • @rayc1503
      @rayc1503 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PlumbingDoctors bro look at the flue itself the exhaust plume isn't death on centre. It's towards the top of the flue. This is to account for condensate fallback. Great upload 👍🏼

    Good vid brother, I have this boiler for 2 years. Its been generally ok, had 1 warranty claim, slight leak above diverter valve. Some critcism, the display needs a LED light when in operation, more intuitive info on display would have been ideal (see vokera evolve ), limited controls as leave all to thermostat. Could have done with pre heat like older models, the left hand side blue lever is too stiff.

    • @PlumbingDoctors
      @PlumbingDoctors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The led is bang on - shows you what you need to know. That left lever is always stiff not sure why

  • @imaginehomes3871

    You can pipe upwards with the stand off bracket. Also need to pipe 28mm off the back of the boiler for anything above about 35000 btu or friction losses cause slower heating, Can come out straight into 22mm and up to 28mm with a 28mm elbow. Just run the 28mm until the rest of the system is less than 35,000 btu then drop to 22mm. The stand off bracket (if you need it) is for 22mm or 28mm pipes. On the Baxi 600/800 you need the stand off for 28mm. Most people think it's 22mm only just because that's on the back of the boiler but that's wrong. The 22mm pipe causes 99% of the restriction so 28mm relieves this and the flow rates and heat up times are massively better. Below 35000 btu it's okay for 22mm. I also use full bore rad valves (14mm internal bore that open up to 14mm)..

    • @PlumbingDoctors
      @PlumbingDoctors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good info about the pipe sizing but very rarely do i need to use anything larger than 22mm as i work on Small - Mid size houses

    How did you manage to set the minimum heating setting to '00'. My own only allows it to go down to '25'. Is there a setting on the PCB?

    Hi brother. I have this boiler fitted new but it feels like it’s always on. It’s always humming and radiators get warm when someone is having a bath. I don’t have a themostat on it. Is there a way to turn it off

    Brilliant install but does the flue not need to be screwed in from both sides of the flue elbow?

      Check the baxi 800 vid as i show it in that video..
      Use the right screw head and also its easier if you drill a pilot hole with a metal bit first 👍🏻

      I can't remember as the job was done in December🙄
      I strip all parts from my old boilers and scrap everything.. i don't ever use 2nd hand parts when repairing boilers 👍🏻 but i do keep some screws and other bits for stock

    Hi mate, I recently just had this boiler fitted. it is working fine, but how does the warranty work? is it with my local plumber who installed it, or the the company Main ? thanks.

    • @PlumbingDoctors

      The warranty is with Baxi. Any issues give Baxi a call directly but make sure you have all paperwork and it gets serviced every year

    Great video,
    Is the flue connection on top of the boiler and the flue connection itself out the wall just a push-fit fitting(s)? No sealant needed?

    • @PlumbingDoctors
      @PlumbingDoctors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep just push fit just lube the seals up before pushing it together

      Can you do a video on the procedure you go through when isolating the gas to a property? Ie. As in more than just turning the lever valve off, or do you just leave it at that?
      Love your videos 👍

    • @PlumbingDoctors
      @PlumbingDoctors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should carry out a tightness test before turning the gas off
