This is a great summary of the race and has far better content than the Official Season Review. Until just now, I'd not seen some of this footage like Villeneuve being repassed by Alesi and then making it stick, Hakkinen passing Salo, Berger chasing Brundle out of the pits and Gerhard then chasing Hill. There is the odd error, like omitting to mention how Schumacher passed Villeneuve originally (as another comment mentions) and saying Villeneuve passed Alesi a lap after his original attempt, when in reality it was two corners later, but this is gold. I'm guessing a lot of the extra footage came from the F1 Digital service, which launched just a couple of races earlier that year.
Somehow the video forgets to mention how Schumi got ahead of Villeneuve in the first place. He pitted instantly under the safety car, if I remember correctly.
Schumacher, the king of Spa.
How Schumacher held Villeneuve off for those 12 laps driving that tractor I will never know. An absolute masterclass
Shumi SHOW 😎👌

This footage was from a TV show called "Gillette World sport special" so some was interdependently filmed and FOCA footage
@@eNeRGizer99Nick ah interesting, many thanks. It is great even all these years later to see new footage pop up now and then like here🙂

Schumacher is the Best of the Best
Great clip! Is this from a season review program as it isn't the "official video" version, do you have any more race clips from the program?
Its from "Gillette World sport special" back in 1996, just happened to have the Video in the recorder and got it!
8-year old me was there🤣
I was there!
First time they used a Mercedes Benz Safety Car
Also the first F1 race Hamilton saw in person.
