    two things that are missing in modern F1: competitive ferrari and brazilians

    • @elbaecc
      @elbaecc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +927

      "Competitive Ferrari" is actually what turned me off F1. This was at the peak of Ferrari v MacLaren / Schumacher v Hakkinen rivalry.
      I remember the race where Barrichello was at #1 and was ordered by Ferrarri boses _on the very last lap_ to slow down and let Schumacher through so he wins the race and increases his chances of winning in the Driver's Championship versus Hakkinen. They stole Barichello's win from him and seeing the emotional hurt on the Brazilians face while Schumacher beamed and celebrated unabashedly...I was done! As much as Schumacher has achieved in his career, it has been on the back of other drivers' careers, like Barichello's, and I lost respect for him & Ferrari that day. Haven't saw F1 with the same amount of zeal and interest after that.

    I got goosebumps rewatching Perez win there. And tears for the Schumacher mother. I remember watching that race like it was yesterday. 2000 Japan was what he worked so hard for and finally done it. Ferrari had finally come out on top after decades

      Yes it brought back memories. That was the beginning of the Ferrari era. Those sweet engines. Schumacher winning knowing his mother just passed away. I believe she had fallen down the stairs. Those races were full of emotion, especially watching it live.I never expected him to perform on that level.
      His mother used to make sandwiches at the go kart track. And always wanted him to be there racing and winning. So it's the best think he could do for her memory.
