This was a really interesting campaign. It's refreshing to see paladins feel a divine impulse to preserve cultural heritage, rather than be overzealous dimwitted anti-intellectuals, like they are portrayed in most media. The idea of what it means for a civilization and it's culture to disappear is also something that's under explored in fiction. All in all great job guys, I hope we see more of Cam's world building in the future.
That idea of XP being real in this universe and the ritualistic destruction of a town as a means to capitalize on it is so fucking good, Cam. I really, really love it. Also Spell Coding is genius. This world is super rad
There was a lot of beautiful sorrow in this one. Really atmospheric. All the credit to Cam for keeping it somber and engaging, but still fun. I enjoyed it immensely. And Adam was a lot of fun. Just great for a good goof and asking questions that helped me get to understand better as well. Hope he's on more of them going forward.
I've loved all the Dice Friends campaigns so far but between the melancholic setting and the great variety of paladins portrayed by the player characters, I think this is my favorite one so far. I'd love to see more adventures with the whole pala-gang or even just this setting again. Thanks for a great pair of episodes!
I'm so glad I watched this prior to After The Flood! What a poignant, yet entertainingly acted campaign! The cult aspect around the "Emperor" really reminded me of the Pannion Domin from the Malazan Book of the Fallen series. I can't wait to see where this goes in the new campaign!
My favorite part of this story is the implication that the Emperor is an idiot. Or, at least, he didn't think through all the implications of what he was doing. My head canon is that he expected he could just erase the Republic from people's memories and just replace himself with it, without thinking through that he was also erasing all the infrastructure of the Republic, which is why all the enemy NPCs don't seem to have a clue how to do anything. I love this setting and story. If I ever become a DM, I hope to be able to run it. The idea of a magical utopia gone to rot, all the adventures the Sparrow Hawks can have out in the frontier, the idea that the Emperor is an enemy it'll take generations to defeat, and the fact that Paladins are so mysterious just has so much potential. I love it!
Graham - Ravens are too smart, I agree. They use tools, they can mimic human speech, they can clearly understand parts of English at the very least, and can make friends. I don't know if you've seen the Raven Girl post from tumblr but it's amazing. She gets gifts.
Excellent story, everyone! Cam, you're a great story-teller. I had moments of despair, and that made the eventual triumph that much more rewarding an experience. I would still like to pursue these stories further, some day, but I realize you're all improv people, so this works better for you, and we all benefit more. At least that's my guess.
I love Cameron's campaigns. Over the years I've rewatched all the iterations of Etin many times and I still enjoy them. Thanks for the background noise I don't get tired of.
Missed a great chance when offered the chewing tobacco, while waiting to make a Last Stand. Totally should have knocked it back with "That stuff will kill you".
i love this campaign because it showcases what i feel is the most diverse class being paladin , theres so many diffrent characters that you can make with a paladin vs another class like wizard
" Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down? We do, we do! Who keeps Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps? We do, we do! Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star? We do, we do! Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night? We do! We do! "
You should do a bonus episode where they all go to Burning Man. “Some have seen too many summers and too few winters. The are time traveling snow birds.”

I loved this campaign, and the world it's set in, so much. Takes so many ideas and gives them a somber, yet not unhopeful twist.
This was beautiful. The team did excellent work and Cam, as always, was a delight. I would love to see an adventure like this again.
Cam always comes up with the most interesting worlds to adventure in

Can we get some of the aftershow on these youtube videos? I really wanna know what Cam had planned.
'Ravenous God-Emperor'
Is this about to be 40k?

They also hold grudges. Fuck one over and be ready for eye pecking.
adams laugh is so amazing but i cant get it out of my head now

I really liked the setting, I liked to see more in it?
Dear God, I love that intro! It’s beautiful writing,
Nice mini campaign cam you really do a great job as a dm, am going back and making my way thru all the dice friends vids. Regards
Adam "Statistically Improbable" Savidan.
I'd love to see your worldbuilding docs on this Cam; it reminds me a bit of Tyranny meets Dark Sun by way of New Vegas.
Another great campaign from Dice Friends. I would love to see another campaign set in this world.
I love Cameron's campaigns. Over the years I've rewatched all the iterations of Etin many times and I still enjoy them. Thanks for the background noise I don't get tired of.
Any chance you could share the files about this world with us? I would love to play in this setting, it's super interesting. Great job Cam.
On the raven note, you should hear Australian ravens. They go RAW-RAW-RAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw
Missed a great chance when offered the chewing tobacco, while waiting to make a Last Stand. Totally should have knocked it back with "That stuff will kill you".
@42:35 i got you Ian. "The Raven looked at you?!"
"Mooks continue to crash into you" - A metaphor for life.

I thought it was cool to see too, though I feel like wizard has a lot of potential variety as well.
I feel like Grants Holy Smite was less a feeling of holy goodness and more pent up heavenly wrath from not being able to hurt the guy.
How can I get the notes for this campaign?
Which version of the commoner class is Cam using? Sounds interesting.
sorry, i know its been a year, but did you ever figure it out? im rewatching for after the flood
Cameron has a way of saying my name that makes me snap to attention. (I share a name with a character)
Great story! Great job everybody!

Who robs cavefish of their sight?
Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do!
We do! "
was Adam using a magic spindown?
I don't know exactly why, but this all reminds me of Swan's Song. Just has the same vibe to me.
Oooooh yeeeeaaaaah
This stuff is just fantastic. Now let's just hope they don't meet any big bears that can teleport and are wreathed in lightning.
*Exit pursued by a big bear that can teleport and is wreathed in lightning*
Sparrowhawks, are you a fan of Earthsea too? Honestly an underrated series.
It started to snow?! Oh no it is Fimbulwinter. The end of times is upon us!
PALadins
You should do a bonus episode where they all go to Burning Man.
“Some have seen too many summers and too few winters. The are time traveling snow birds.”
Thus is not me saying it's a bad story, in fact it was amazing, but leave it to cam to write a story where the success state is still a sombre moment
Thank god
wait holliday like james holliday from ready player one?
So this is just interstellar in D&D
2:23:16 * ahem * "House Rule"
Bring me thock
