Kathleen is wonderful. She's like 'you have a bunch of really great improv people' 'plz don't set us up like that' 'well, I'll set myself up' and then she just unhinges her brain and GOES. It is indeed true, they can do this stuff as fast as they can talk, when they're 'on'. :)
I am so glad to see you guys doing a rpg project again, I loved Temple of the Lava bears when it came out and have been yearning for more ever since. Definitely recommending to all my gaming friends.
Every time I rewatch this, I'm reminded that I don't know what Ed Sheeran looks like, which makes all the various imaginings hard. Also, I love how Dale keeps making jokes (like the Junior Archery Brigade) into important plot points (like the prisoner escape). It adds a sense of continuity to the world.
I like Snak's character. He's self-centered, but he also has a lot of moments where he shows that he does have a heart. Likewise, I like that the Necromancer is an all right guy (and what happens to him later); he doesn't seem out to hurt anyone. He's just a little crazy, but with a sense of civic responsibility. The other characters are great too, Morra's my favorite, and I was happy to see her again in Camp Nettlebee.
"Lounging against the fence is my ruchard cheese cover band." Had me rolling. Bless you mighty graphics oracle. Edit: thank you Cori! The one liners are great
1:04:00 - I believe that Channel Divinity can only restore people who are below 50% HP (PHB page 60). Not a big problem, since you wouldn't use it to give just 1hp back. Or the DM could've ruled it already.
Huzzah! More friends! And they have the best accessory, DICE!! So the music that plays with the opening crawl (nice work Featherweight) is really cool. Can you tell me where I can get it?
I know I'm a little late to this party, but as a DM, I do watch a lot of these Let's Play D&D videos for inspiration and just for fun. I really dig Featherweight's art (as always), and the credits music (which was un-credited, here, I assume it Bradley Rains or some SID thing). The comments at the top right/under the player character's names are killing me XD I assume that's Cori's work.
Clerics do get a unique feature at lvl 1. Its what makes them one of my favorite class to play in 5e. Just started playing a Knowledge Cleric 2 extra languages and 2 extra skills and double proficency is great!
So I don't know too much about D&D, but isn't there this whole alignment dealy? Is that not in 5e, or are they just not telling us/don't think it's important? Or are character classes automatically a particular alignment?
First Person Plural They make a few references to alignment, so presumably they just haven't shared them yet. They're all withholding information from each other as well. I hope it keeps up for a while, personally.
Kidzelda0 ah ok cool, that makes sense and is fine with me too. The alignment stuff is the most interesting thing narratively (for me) in D&D, so I'd be sad if it wasn't there, but withholding for the sake of deception is cool
Alignment in 5E really doesn’t mean very much. There are no classes that are inherently one alignment (even Paladins can be a Chaotic or Evil alignment).
They're not doing inspiration right it works so you can roll and then before you get the result of if it works or not if you think it's not going to work you can reroll it
Joey Gall according to the rules, it works likes this: "You can expend it when you make an attack roll, saving throw or ability check. Spending your inspiration gives you advantage on that roll". Page 35, basic rules. Advantage: "When you have either advantage or disadvantage, you roll a second d20 when you make the roll. Use the higher of the two rolls if you have advantage" page 4 basic rules. So you can't roll one die, then expend inspiration and roll another. As the rules state for advantage, both dies have to be rolled simultaneously.
On top of that, all the core rule books are *guidelines* . It's literally impossible to "not play right". You can do it your way, Dale can do it his way. Or you can do it the way Matt Mercer does it in Critical Role, using inspiration lets you add 1d6 to your role. All of those ways, are 100% correct!
I've played tabletop RPG's since the late 90's, and I have never had two GM's using the rules in the exact same way :) But LRR is using Inspiration as it is described in the rulebook.
I honestly expected better from LLR. Dale really isn't that great of a DM. He's too passive aggressive, and the campaign has more of a "Well we don't have anything better to do." sort of vibe. As far as DnD streams go, it's pretty weak.
"Maybe it was cut out. Maybe it just gave up and left."
Whoever is on tech is awesome, love all the little funny bits they add
I love the roleplaying and goofs in this series so far. And Dale seems like a great DM.
Kathleen's character fits her so well I love it.
"I'm going to need Bebo to clean that up."
I just imagine off in the distance Bebo just goes "Aw c'mon!"
I love this series.
“40 points of acid damage to the face!”
Nice callback!!!!!!

Session 3: Preventing an Escape from Semolo Plateau
Session 4 Revenge of Pegleg
I am so happy that you guys are doing another D&D campaign! I loved Temple of the Lava Bears and am really enjoying this series so far.
This is a lot of fun, really enjoying everyone's work here.
_"I've got this_ *_hook."_*
I can imagine a hobbit that looks like Ed Sheeran more than I can imagine a human that looks like Ed Sheeran
im just imagining a leprechan ed sheeran
I can see a kithkin Ed Sheehan
First episode was great, but now I have to go do things. Thanks for being excellent company. :)
I love the bottom of the screen and how it is just quotes from what the players say.
Absolutely loving these, really looking forward to the next episode!
What a cliff hanger!
I like Snak's character. He's self-centered, but he also has a lot of moments where he shows that he does have a heart. People have been coughing in my ears for a month straight, glad to know I'll be keeping the streak here as well. c:
"Lounging against the fence is my ruchard cheese cover band." Had me rolling. Bless you mighty graphics oracle.
Edit: thank you Cori! The one liners are great
Maaaann...I'm loving that intro
Yay be been waiting for part 2
Devon C same
Consistent updates? We must be rolling well!
1:12:58 Did Morra briefly channel Kane?
Yay! Love this series so far.
I know that Dale is wearing the eyepatch for a reason (medical?) but all I can think is that every NPC is a closeted pirate.
Totally not a pineapple He has a damaged Iris I believe. In the comments on Episode 1
Taaketa Dinloka damaged retina
1:04:00 - I believe that Channel Divinity can only restore people who are below 50% HP (PHB page 60). Not a big problem, since you wouldn't use it to give just 1hp back. Or the DM could've ruled it already.
wow beej with the medkit thats amazing
Huzzah! More friends! And they have the best accessory, DICE!!
So the music that plays with the opening crawl (nice work Featherweight) is really cool. Can you tell me where I can get it?
"Bonkers" heard twice on the same day...once from today's Chillpoint from Paul...and also on this show from Kathleen..."BONKERS!"
I know I'm a little late to this party, but as a DM, I do watch a lot of these Let's Play D&D videos for inspiration and just for fun. I really dig Featherweight's art (as always), and the credits music (which was un-credited, here, I assume it Bradley Rains or some SID thing).

Man I hope that Gram goes the Eldrich Knight route at level 3...
Or Arcane Archer (Xanathar's Guide) would be pretty cool.
For every zombie / turn turn turn / there is a season / turn turn turn . . .
Make the session an hour longer!
My only question is how much xp did Bontan get from beating the rug??????
I think I have a new Paul quote.
If Ben were to temp as DM would it be Escape from Swolo Plateau?
I'm enjoying this a lot XD
So Snak is pretty much Knobby, right?
Have not watched yet, but it did not come up in episode 1. What Domain is Beej's Cleric?
Matt Knowles Life
That's mostly because you have no domain-specific abilities until Lv2, so he brings it up in this episode.
diserasta clerics choose their domain at lvl 1 and get their bonus spells then.
Right. I guess I should've been more precise. No unique features, but they do get an expanded spell list. I guess it never came up.
Clerics do get a unique feature at lvl 1. Its what makes them one of my favorite class to play in 5e. Just started playing a Knowledge Cleric 2 extra languages and 2 extra skills and double proficency is great!
Hurrah! ❤️
who is here in 2021 and feeling real awk about those coughs and handing over physical things without sanitizer

Kathleen mentions in this episode that she's Chaotic Good. It's at about 1:11
Alignment in 5E really doesn’t mean very much. There are no classes that are inherently one alignment (even Paladins can be a Chaotic or Evil alignment).
In addition to what others said, we'd rather *play* the characters alignments, than say "I am like this"
Todo: Beat the Rug
I think they put a death curse on Kathleen.
58:34 shouldn´t you have to roll at least one point HIGHER than his AC in order to hit him???
Carlos Lopez In 5e, tie goes to the attacker
Oh, ok then.
Shake and poison...
Bontoons...
#420SemoloIt
Take the rock!!!!
They're not doing inspiration right it works so you can roll and then before you get the result of if it works or not if you think it's not going to work you can reroll it
I can see doing it Dale's way especially with him being generous in handing out inspiration.
Edit: Ah, there you go. It's actual rules.
Joey Gall according to the rules, it works likes this:
"You can expend it when you make an attack roll, saving throw or ability check. Spending your inspiration gives you advantage on that roll". Page 35, basic rules.

What ever it's just different than the way I have seen anyone else do it since I started playing like 3 year's ago
