If you will be visiting Luzern, Switzerland but suddenly you'll have an urge for "zucchini-keftedes" you should try "Ammos", a Greek restaurant. I was there about 2 months ago and I was impressed by their recipe for "zucchini-keftedes", which is one of my favorite dishes.
Achilles Eliopoulos I went on holiday to kos and had the same food they ate (the first tasting) there but it was called something different and I cannot remember the name of it but it tasted amazing 🤤
Greece is one of my favorite places that I've visited. I can't wait to go back. I miss it so much. The people, the culture, the food, the history... It's all beautiful
he said overrated food !!!! and + its arab or Turkish food nothing originates from Greek ....greek music coffee is all from arab culture .....Italian food will always be better same as French
Well im Greek and my opinion is that Italian have different kitchen for example we have delicious cheap fast food but they have more expensive foods like pizza or lasagna

How awesome! I would love to visit Greece. I've been studying history about the ancient Minoans on the islands. How fascinating! This is like the cradle of European civilization
I didnt expect the fact that these amazing American guys found the best soyvlaki in Athens,o Kostas.Well done friends, the most "anti-tourist" spot in Athens but with the best souvlaki in town.Great job!
The only time I went to Greece was for work (teaching social media to sailing instructors, it was fun) and I remember one day for lunch, we were brought to this place that gave us a MASSIVE plate of brown meats to put in pitas. I don’t even think we made a dent in it 😂
I just like to say its very nice the way you respect each other, allowing one to speak while the other is listening e vice versa. Great channel by the way, keep up the good work and stay safe!
Oh this made me miss Greek food! People try to make it here in the states but for the most part it’s a fail because every single ingredient is so dang fresh. What a great video as always. Thanks for taking a hit on calories for us! And your description of moussaka was perfect...a Christmas lasagna!
Greek food is delicious and its always served with the nector of the gods , olive oil which is so healthy for you especially in a greek salad , awesome !!
Great video lads. As a Greek (and Athenian) I really smiled when I saw you enjoying all these meals. Congrats on trying more traditional and "complicated" foods and not just staying on the usual souvlaki (even though it is the best obviously).
The food looks absolutely amazing!!!! Food is definitely our favorite part of traveling! Nothing better than tasting your way through a new city or country!
Traveling to Greece this summer - all three have been added to the list. We have 2 days in Athens before the Island and one after we get back and before we head back to the US. Thanks for the ideas!!
You two are happiest in the UK and Greece that chimes with me , I couldn’t agree more , Living UK 6 weeks a year in Greece is a perfect life ! Hope you tried Tzatziki and ouzo , Greek people are the best
Looks fantastic! I've been to a couple of Greek islands and absolutely love the food. Moussaka is my favourite too. You usually find it's made with lamb rather than beef and has such depth of flavour when done right. Love your videos!
My stomach is growling now. I'm not Greek, but we have a lot of Greek food here (Detroit). Our Saganaki is served "flaming", literally on fire! And the server yells "Opa!" Which I believe is watch your face or something. lol Moussaka and Dolmadakia (stuffed grape leaves) are my absolute favorites! I like the grape leaves with lemon sauce. Oh gosh, and Lemon Rice soup! Avagolemono, I think is the spelling.
Lisa Anderson Isn’t it wonderful living in the Detroit area? You can throw a rock and hit an amazing Greek diner or restaurant haha. Now I want some Saganaki!
Yes! Just the cheese with the liquor poured over it. Or however they do it. lol That's awful that your place closed! We had one close to us when we were kids that closed. But we'll always (hopefully) have the ones in Greektown downtown Detroit.
You guys know your stuff. I used to go to Kostas all the time. It truly was one of the best souvlaki's in Athens. I haven't been back in over 8 years though because i feel embarrassed. That is their new location. I only used to go to the old location. The old stand was on Adrianou street just below the Acropolis basically. I miss it because it was one of the cleanest joints. However i can't go back there. I don't think they would recognize me and i was quite a regular customer. You have to go there early though between 9-12, otherwise you may not find anything. Good on you to showcase him though. You made me hungry.
Wonderful Greek foodie tour guys :) You really let us feel like we're there with you all. It just keeps getting better! Yummy!!! Safe travels and blessings, Kim & James
I have to admit, when I first stumbled across your channel I thought it was purely a food vlog 😂 But trying new dishes is all part of what makes traveling so fun, and you guys do a really great job describing it all! I love that.
Exactly! It is not used everywhere in a moussaka though, it is an old influence in some places coming from Greek refugees from Asia Minor in the 1920s. Many homemade versions do not have this mix, but surely as a tourist you will experience it due to ...tradition in the touristy areas..!
As a Greek girl I was shocked and impressed at how well you had your information down about souvlaki! It's true that in Athens we call souvlaki --> kalamaki and pita-->souvlaki..and actually we are in dispute with the majority of the country about how it is called! haha Either way I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay in my hometown and hope you come back soon! Happy traveling!
Hunnie, Max and their Human Too Actually this one was "Tirokafteri" which is made again with yogurt but it's completely different on the taste with Tzatziki. It's much lighter but more spicy and it is made with greek peppers, yogurt, feta cheese, garlic, paprika, oregano and virgin oil. While Tzatziki is made with garlic, cucumber, dill, vinegar and yogurt. They are very similar on the appearance but completely different on the taste.

Hello from Greece The road that you ate lucumades, is one of the best places in Athens and that shop that is making them is one of the oldest down town.
Well I remember Kostas with the moustache, he eas preparing pita souvlaki at Adrianou street , seeing him everyday on my way to pick my son from school. There was nothing until 13.00. Wow guys, I am so glad you enjoyed Greece and amazing Greek food! Also...well done for knowing that Souvlaki is a skewer of meat and that in Athens they call it Kalamaki. It is really only an Athenian thing - yeah, they are a bit weird hahahaha. 😁👍. Yiasou from Australia

My fav place for loukoumades is undoubtedly Krinos. And we had tried quite a few places across Greece.
We loved your video, we are very happy that you enjoyed your stay in Greece and most of all enjoying the Greek food in Athens!!!!

Opa in greek usually means watch out
Also lived in Detroit and loved going to Greektown for dinner..
Also true in Iowa. Flaming with no breading. But our Greek restaurant in cedar rapids closed, sadly.
Yes! Just the cheese with the liquor poured over it. Or however they do it. lol That's awful that your place closed! We had one close to us when we were kids that closed. But we'll always (hopefully) have the ones in Greektown downtown Detroit.

The yougert sauce is called tzatziki (ta-ziki) and it is awesome on any kind of meat. Also easy to make.

I have to admit, when I first stumbled across your channel I thought it was purely a food vlog 😂 But trying new dishes is all part of what makes traveling so fun, and you guys do a really great job describing it all! I love that.
The "Christmasy" spice flavor you were mentioning is a mix of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and cloves. It's used a lot in eastern Mediterranean cooking.
Exactly! It is not used everywhere in a moussaka though, it is an old influence in some places coming from Greek refugees from Asia Minor in the 1920s. Many homemade versions do not have this mix, but surely as a tourist you will experience it due to ...tradition in the touristy areas..!

The yoghurt sauce word you are looking for is tzatziki and its yummy :) I love Greek food and gyros is my favourite snack food

Hello ! a Greek here . I like your vlog a lot. you must search for a freek rare traditional food called Fricase ( φρικασε ) and you must try Paedakia and Papoutsakia !
Favorite spot in Athens bar none is Diporto Agoras. Little cellar restaurant near the central fish market. Unmarked entrance and absolutely incredible
2.10 Souvlaki is pieces of pork meat in a chopstick and the other is pita gyros. In Athens call Souvlaki the wrapped Arabic pita and kalamaki the Souvlaki.
Greek Cuisine is one of the world`s top but Greek confectionery is the world`s top
Naild it on the kalamaki and souvlaki names 👍

also kolokithakia gemista with avgolemono...you will lose your memories...
And fasolakia!!
You were correct. Souvlaki is correctly called when meat on a stick and pita gyros or pita souvlaki is the wrapped thing.
Wrong...meat on a stick it's called kalamaki...learn a little history of souvlaki first.
Well I remember Kostas with the moustache, he eas preparing pita souvlaki at Adrianou street , seeing him everyday on my way to pick my son from school.
There was nothing until 13.00. You should have ordered since morning to keep you one or two.
