So your vlog is about going to the best restaurants and constantly overpaying. 60 Euros is 66 dollars, and 100 Euros is 110 dollars. Who is going to go over there and spend insane amounts of money for dinners for two like that? You can get top-quality food for a fraction of the price at small mom and pop restaurants and take-away places, but that would mean not showing off how fancy you are, right?
Thank you for your feedback. I agree with you there are all sorts of great places to eat in Athens for all different prices. I highlighted street food in another vlog as well. I live in the Miami area and the cost of living is high so I was excited to visit Athens and eat at these great places for what I thought were affordable prices. Through my vlog, I try to provide as much information as I can about travel and food to help others make plans for their own travel.
That's nonsense, the amounts they paid for all this food in restaurants was actually very reasonable, especially,m the fish restaurants.. Not all places are for a 3.50 souvlaki and that's obviously not what tourists are supposed to be eating every day they spend in Greece..
@@alexp.7182 So you are saying that the only restaurants worth going to are fancy sit-down meals? That there is nothing else worth eating in Athens? Too bad you missed my point completely.
@@mikeymutual5489 I disagree with some things you mentioned.. 1. Sea food and meat dishes.. You avoided to try all the traditional recipes, the true art of greek cousine .. There are also many many delicious recipes from town to town and island to island.. There are plates that you can try them only in the city or island you stay at the moment with local ingredients.. You should ask for the local recipes when you are away from Athens.. I would say that you didn't try anything that you couldn't find in many Mediterranean countries.. Those were not the traditional Greek dishes
I appreciate the feedback. I had never visited Athens before so being my first time everything was new to me. However, I think your feedback is good and I do plan on going back and trying more. I really, really enjoyed the food. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment.
@@JuliaGonzalesTravels next time, avoid touristic places, don't follow recommended restaurants from books and magazines. You should ask the locals, people that live in Greece. Not hotel owners and people who works with tourists because they will send you to restaurants that they co-operate (especially if they tell you to use his name).. Avoid restaurants that have biggggg catalogs and serve everything.. Usually places by the sea have fresh fishes bought by the fishermen almost alive . Here in Greece we have countless places for launch, you may ask for a traditional dish and be garbage and the same dish might be a masterpiece. Prices doesn't say anything here, you can eat better very cheap or spend lot of money for medium level dish.. Always ask the locals, Always avoid touristic places.. If you visit a restaurant and all you hear are foreign languages and not Greek leave. Choose places that you hear the customers speaking Greek.. Ιn places that are not in Athens always try the local recipes and dishes (do not forget to try the sweet recipes too). Imagine that there are dishes in the rest of Greece that we "Athenians" have never heard or tried.. Bye bye

That’s awesome enjoy! Let me know what you think if you get to go to any of the places or if you find a good spot not listed let me know. I like to take recommendations for when I go back. Have a great trip!
Always ask the locals,
Always avoid touristic places..
Bye bye
Why most of persons who do such videos do not know how to use fork and knife?
Guilty as charged...however thanks to this wonderful TH-cam Community I have learned and in future videos, you should see I do much better 😀 Thanks for watching!
@@JuliaGonzalesTravels All the best for your next travels
Pro tip dont go to europe in winters 😂😂.. especially greece
Really, I would love to hear your perspective on why? I went in February and loved it. No lines, no need for reservations, and the weather was gorgeous.
that's not Greek salad that's Dakos Cretan salad
Are you referring to the salad from Yperokeanio? That would make more sense since it was so different. Thanks so much for pointing that out.
It is Greek.. dakos Cretan salad..
all was good till you made the awful mistake going to that trendy smoke house dump,i wouldn't eat that crap for free , i bet you will not go there again
Fine Mess is a great place I will go back when I visit Athens again. I wouldn’t show something on my channel unless I enjoyed it.
Only tourists in Greece order in restaurant pasta witch is considered food for the prison and the poor 😂
I did not realize that pasta is considered food for the prison and the poor. I have to say I did love it though. Great tip and good to know! Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment.
Um..what?? I'm Greek and I've never heard of that before... Not true at all
@@geminiagr Depence where you live ..Greeks back in home never eat pasta in taverns only meat and meze with wine ..Of course if you are Greek from USA or Europe then you adopted to the style of the country you live
@@southface6684 How long is it since you last came to Greece?? In taverns yes it might be unusual to eat pasta, but in other restaurants (similar to a few she visited) pasta is very common. BTW I was born , raised and still live in Greece and i've never heard that. Unless it's a "class" thing only the super wealthy know (which would still be weird since usually the most expensive restaurants do offer pasta in their menu)
