Omg youre wrong in things in the video. First of all theres no Ottoman or italian anywhere in greek cuisine. Everything the Ottomans know about cuisine its been taken from Byzantine the Arabs and Persia (todays Iran). Dolmades which the proper name is Αμπελοφυλλα γεμιστά which has roots in Ancient Greece. Skewers which are called kalamaki from the Ancient Greece where they would fish with the calami (bamboo) and use little sticks from them to grill fish n lamb and goats. Pork gyros did not exist until 1980. Everything its called souvlaki even the yeero. Pastitsio has nothing to do with lasagna. Greek meatsauce has cinnamon and all spice italians do not these in their bolognese. Koulouri its not Ottoman it goes back in Ancient Greece. Ottomans didnt even had seeds. Youre stuck in Ottoman not realizing that greeks lived in what is modern Turkey 100s of years before ottomans stepped foot in the region. Basic history....
You mean that the most of the Greek food are from the Othman empire? I think that you sould know that before this Turkish empire it was the Byzantine empire that it was for about 1200 years! And this founds was Greek foods that was stolen from us! Before any videos make a research first!

@@erdemozcan5435Turks were nomads from central asia they didn't have their own cuisine, they just took the foods from the people they conquered (Byzantines, persians, egyptians etc.) and made them their own.

half of these covered are Turkish originated which later got part in Greek cuisine in the Greek mainland after the turkish - greek population exchange. I respect Greeks that they try to protect their culture but putting the word "greek" in all those foods or drinks does not make them greek such as; greek baklava or greek coffee or dolmades.
Stop calling Greek food ottoman!!!! Ottomans were nomadic people, who just included dishes from older and more culturaly developed nations such as Persians,Greeks, Armenians,Arabs... in their own cuisine
Does the fact that people are nomadic mean they can survive without food? What kind of logic is this? Even the names of the dishes are Turkish. Stop making Turkish food your own and accept the facts.
Forgive me but there are no influences from Italians, on the contrary we were conquered by the Romans and they were influenced by our food, for example in ancient Greece they cooked a dish for the dead called MAKARON, hence the word today. (blessed , makaritis) which means dead. They took it to their homeland Italy and named it (MAKARONI) today in your language spaghetti. The same happens with the Turks who were warriors without culture and tradition and actually stole us. Even traditional dances. Now that they have taken food one level higher it is true. In Istanbul are the best restaurants with flavors that do not exist in Greece. Greece was influenced by other things, even pizza existed under another name. I'm not lying to you, everyone is influenced by Greek culture and tradition, even your books and world history, but I drown when I hear that we were influenced by barbarians, while all this was already here.
Pasta is traced back in Italy as far as 4th century BC. Greek presence in Italy began with the migrations of traders and colonial foundations in the 8th century BC. The only Italians who call pasta macaroni are Neapolitans and a couple of other southern provinces where there were Greeks. Napoli being the birth place of pizza is most probably influenced by Greeks seeing it was originally Neapolis. However the way it is made today is Italian as it represents the Italian flag with green, white and red. In the end it really doesn't matter who invented what. I am proud of the Greek culture as my husband is Greek and my kids also have Greek heritage but to call us Italians barbarians is dissapointing and I feel about you the way I feel about the turks who are always claiming all Greek dishes.
we do have influences from Italians and the French...Tselementes who basically created modern greek cuisine was a chef that studied and worked abroad in Austria in Italian and French cuisine...Italy got pasta and gelato from the Chinese on their travels to the silk road, greeks did as well.

❤⚘
Baklava is a Turkish dish
🇦🇿🇹🇷🇰🇬🇰🇿🇺🇿🇹🇲🇭🇺
I am greek
so you know they're not your food
Is that Charlotte you look like someone I used to know
You mean that the most of the Greek food are from the Othman empire? I think that you sould know that before this Turkish empire it was the Byzantine empire that it was for about 1200 years! And this founds was Greek foods that was stolen from us! Before any videos make a research first!
She made a big mistake there. Its Byzantine not ottoman.
You just need to look at the etymological roots of food names. You can see that your so-called Greek cuisine consists of 90% Turkish dishes.
@@erdemozcan5435 the word etymology ετυμολογία is Greek also ...just like the foods the mongols ottoman stolen from the Greek byzantine empire
Thanks for the word etymology my ottoman friends. Chears
@@giannispsichountakis6073 Do you think that food belongs to the Greeks when written in the Greek alphabet? What a logic 😏 For example, “dolma” means stuffed in Turkish, baklava, yoghurt, tzatziki and this list goes on. Now accept the facts or sit down and cry.
@@erdemozcan5435Turks were nomads from central asia they didn't have their own cuisine, they just took the foods from the people they conquered (Byzantines, persians, egyptians etc.) and made them their own.
Everyone talking about fancy coffee, the only coffee I can drink is 3/4 part sugary water and milk and 1/4 part weak coffee before my body complaining. Is that fancy enough? 😂😂😂😂
I love Greek food
😍 English Accent long gone far behind 😄🌷except when drinking alcohol LOL
half of these covered are Turkish originated which later got part in Greek cuisine in the Greek mainland after the turkish - greek population exchange. I respect Greeks that they try to protect their culture but putting the word "greek" in all those foods or drinks does not make them greek such as; greek baklava or greek coffee or dolmades.
You forgot loukoumades!!
Its also Turkish
Habibi.....Come to India 🙌🏻
Lot of recipe quite similar to turkey
Your profile is Greek, you like much Greece, your colours are Greek..... check your DNA. George
Stop calling Greek food ottoman!!!! Ottomans were nomadic people, who just included dishes from older and more culturaly developed nations such as Persians,Greeks, Armenians,Arabs... in their own cuisine
Ah ok, than why do even the greeks call the foods by their turkish names?
Does the fact that people are nomadic mean they can survive without food? What kind of logic is this? Even the names of the dishes are Turkish. Stop making Turkish food your own and accept the facts.
koulouri is an eastern roman empire food not ottoman get your facts right
Forgive me but there are no influences from Italians, on the contrary we were conquered by the Romans and they were influenced by our food, for example in ancient Greece they cooked a dish for the dead called MAKARON, hence the word today.
From the imaginary island of Makaron where was the place of eternal rest of dead heroes.. They were making also Makaropita for funerals
You are super cute ☺️
2:28 stop calling it GREEK coffee. It’s Ottoman Coffee and belongs to Greece, Turkey, and other Ottoman Countries. We used to live together so this coffee was all over Ottoman.
