Blade Runner Movie Vehicles - Syd Mead

- Over the weekend we got a chance to go to the Peterson Museum in Los Angeles, California and got to see up close on of our favorite films Blade Runner and the vehicles in both films Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049, In this video we see the first Blade Runner Spinner used in the film along with Deckard's car that we see him drive through what we call the Terminator Tunnel (Alot of people do not realize they drive through and knowing it was in some feature films) but with this video post we give you some close ups to vehicles from the films and view some of Syd Mead's work come to life. The Peterson Museum has open its doors to a public Hollywood film viewing of certain vehicles from certain films and Blade Runner being one of them. We did see some Minority Report vehicles and others we will post later. Enjoy one of Sci-Fi most iconic films that have inspired the Cyberpunk themes and generations.

Syd Mead is a genius, and Blade Runner owes much of it's success to him.
Syd Mead is half the reason BR wasn't immediately forgotten. Vangelis is the other half.

The Spinner from the film use to be in Disney's Film Props Back lot baking in the sun collecting dust along with many other film props. It along with the other props were part of one of Disney tour rides.

This may be a strange thing to say but the spinner from the 1982 film, with it's lack of front axle makes me think of Nolan's Tumbler design.
Indeed alot of designers reference Syd Mead's designs for films alot of tributes even some of the most top anime have been inspired check out his site sydmead.com/
