I can tell you for sure that in 1990 both a Spinner and a coupe were displayed at MGM studios. They were at the "then" entrance of the Great Movie Ride where the wait line used to be that zig zagged outside for awaiting riders. The cars along with Blue Thunder sat on what I remember was maybe river rock stone covering the area inside a chained off area along the pathway to the ride. The Spinner there was the one used for flying scenes. I know this because the cables were still attached to the top of the car and left just laying where they fell. I remember being dismayed because of the condition of the vehicles. I returned to MGM in 2000 with GREAT enthusiasm that I was going to see these cars again only to find the Great Movie ride entrance completely changed and all the display pieces now missing. I cannot remember which but one of the cars could be seen then on the tram backlot tour out in a holding lot with other movie cars just sitting and rotting along with a BTTF Delorian with little if any regard to their value. I asked a cast member where the cars were and how to see them. She told me most likely in a storage building for props and the only way to see them is when there is a special behind the scenes tour but it was a rare occurance and very limited. We now have a friend whose sister works at Disney and next time I see her I am going to beg that she inquire about the cars for me. Thanks for an informative video. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for sharing that your memories!! I’ve seen photos of it in the queue location and regret having been too young to have seen it there back in 1990. I did see it in 1992 on my first family trip but it was from a distance of course as the cars were moved out to the tram tour picture vehicle area. I’ve done a lot of research into these cars and pored over vintage photos and this car’s history is murky at best! I’ll be sharing those details in an upcoming video. Thanks again for these details!!

Thank you for creating this. Just a side note to this video, Phil Steinschneider and I created a project to make reproduction Blade Runner Aluminum License plates to sell to fans as reproduction prop plates no effort was taken to age them. I sent the correct number plate to the Miami Police museum, they attached it to the Sedan, where it still resides.

Can't wait for this smaller, more practical coupe for my uses.
Love the styling, and a much smaller version of the Cybertruck would have vastly superior mileage and... finally fulfill my dream of owning BladeRunner's car.
