The Pacer was not a "lemon." I don't recall hearing about any defects. Its only real problem was that, for a small car, it did not get good gas mileage. But, other than that, I thought it was well-built and daringly original.
I hope y'all will reply to this remember the AMC Pacer was in the film Wayne's World????!!..when Wayne Garth and their friends were singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody
AMC relying on the big three for parts - and in particular a GM rotary engine that was never built - doomed this car and company. The Pacer - a small car with big car fuel economy and polarizing stying - didn't work out too well. AMC was sure daring though. Always admired their willingness to be different.
My mother bought one. It was awesome!
My dream car
Same!!! And now I own one!!
Voiceover by Mandel Kramer (1916-1989)
glad you loaded this, I remember this commercial.....was wondering when I'd see it on line
Hahaha...the "laugh" mobile. I remember seeing them on the road.

these things ran forever
David Lafleche did you see Wayne's World?????!!!..that blue car Wayne and Garth had was a Pacer don't know the year however
It depends on the grill. The design pictured above was 1975-76. After that, it had a slightly higher hood (1977-1980).
+David Lafleche It's a 1976 Pacer. Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars bought it.
+David Lafleche Did you hear about how the Power Steering would seize up while on the highway? The Pacer was notorious for that.

A 1976 television ad for the AMC Pacer.
I had one. It did turn heads but not always for the positive. 😂
Man, what was that company thinking when they developed that thing?
They were thinking 50 years in the future
