Charlie's voice was the actor Herschel Bernardi. The voiceover announcer was Hugh Douglas. My father, Tom Rogers, was the Leo Burnett copywriter who created Charlie the Tuna and wrote all the commercials until he retired in 1980.
The only thing I didn't like about this commercial was that it wasn't in color. That was from 1968 for crying out loud, not 1908. come on, get with it!
