Now it's time to sell of my Volcas and Airas, finally! This one can do it all in one box, with analog filter and patchbay. What a time to be alive. And Patrick was on FIRE today. What a good music to compliment the sounds.
Congrats! This is what happens when you try new ideas, instead of 1:1 clones. Even if this is taken from Plaits (which is open source so it's fair game) it combines it with an analog filter a sequencer a patch bay... All in all a very interesting product for a great price and probably the first Behringer I'll buy!
Hey man, thank you I guess, but please be aware I am still very much here and alive! Seems a lot of people have mistaken the announcement that Dan (RIP) sadly passed away, he only worked doing the videos for Behringer for a short time whilst I went on a 2 year break, and then I came back and Dan left before he sadly passed. However myself (Patrick), I'm very much still alive and making videos. Just wanted to clear that up. Thanks, Patrick.
@@PatchDog you're very good at explaining your methodology in a clear and concise manner that really showcases the capabilities of the gear; I think we'd all benefit from watching you craft these bits!
What a great synth for someone wanting to get into electronic music. $199 won’t break the bank either. I got most of these sounds covered with my Virus TI-1, but had I not invested in that and Moogs/Korgs I’d be building a Behringer setup for a fraction of the price.
Hi, very nice video!, as a former Plaits user, I know that one of its coolest features is the dual output, in many modes are differents signals to out 1 and out 2, so I assume that, having one filter an one VCA, the dual out is not available like a stereo, so what out is sent to the VCF-VCA path? or the two outs are mixed?. I see that Grind have OSC1 and OSC2 outs, are this the standar Plaits outs? I hope that you can clarify this point, and thanks. Saludos desde Buenos Aires.
Hi and thank you. Patrick here (the guy who made this video). The second output (OUT OSC2) on the patchbay of the Grind works exactly the same as Brains (Plaits). As you suspected it functions the same way and gives you the extra output functions. I mentioned it in the main Grind promo video when talking about the features. Hope it helps y buenas dias de Inglaterra.
Thanks man, but I only made a short version of it, if I ever get time away from editing videos lol I'll try and put a full length out on my channel. Cheers bro, Patrick.
It's not multitimbral, there is just one oscillator though some of the synth engines do have polyphony in a sense (i.e chords engine and a couple others) but it's a monophonic synth.
Was the TD-3 oscillator featured here? I didn't hear anything that sounded like it had that type of sound. And an unrelated question/request: will the TD-3 be getting a refresh any time soon, such as the BA662 VCA upgrade that the MS-1 and others received?
Braids did not have a built-in LPG. I wonder how it is implemented here. Is it simply a pingable/strokable LPG, or can it take envelopes to create some Buchla-style madness?
Someone clarify for me . . . Did Dan use external sequencing on some the synth parts? Where was the piano roll coming from that was shown over the unit?
Cheers man. It was a full drum track, as in 'multitrack', I used different Kick, Snare, Clap, hat samples and mixed it, but I didn't cover it in the video as it was just samples (not a behringer piece). But it wasn't just a pre-made loop, I never use those as they bore me lol, If that's what you were referring to.
@@PatchDog I mean - it would be cool if you made kick, snare, clap, and other drum sounds/samples using the synth. Like one synth challenge or something - to show the full extent of synth capabilities. You can't do this with some synths, for example td3-mo - there is a way to make a kit, like kick/snare/hihats, but it involves other gear and fx. I never thought about pre-made loop at all, nor did I try to accuse you of using one. respect man!
@@SergeTarasoff You're right, I did do some drums in the extended demos vid, but all the shooting and editing of these videos takes up alot of time so I ended up doing the quicker 'samples in daw' route for this one

It pretty much was back in the 1990s. Mesh - Headstone.
Looks like a cool synth. Is it possible to layer synth engines, i.e. is it multitimbral?
It's not multitimbral, there is just one oscillator though some of the synth engines do have polyphony in a sense (i.e chords engine and a couple others) but it's a monophonic synth.
since it's digitally controlled can we sync the LFOs to incoming midi clock ?
