Of course, I had to go and search Richard 'Buzz' Osborne. And blow me - as of 2022, he's based here in Edinburgh, working as Chief Technology Officer for "a strategic marketing firm dedicated exclusively to the commercial space sector" Glad to see he's still doing what he so obviously loves 😬
bless buzz he gets so excited about rockets, or anything that can make a rocket... like any cylindrical tube! he probably had a tough childhood, but he loves his work and thats more than i can say about myself, good on him and great show watched pretty much all of them on YT now :(
but i gotta admit i do love this kind of music, i'm this type of person, who likes this type of tune, it's so powerful the scrapheap challenge theme, i can't fault it.believe me. :)
Nothing to do with each other... Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) Ansari XPRIZE (originally X Prize) They both just use X in their logo's and company names as a shorthand for Exploration. If what you are saying were the case then was Google funding all of them with GLXP (Google Lunar X Prize) In fact as of yesterday Ansari XPRIZE announced the $100M XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition sponsored by Elon Musk and the Musk Foundation. So the companies are nothing to do with each other, but have similar goals of pushing mankind forward.
Hi, Romanian Rocketry! Enjoyed this a lot - thank you for the upload. I hope you're still involved in the hobby; there have been some amazing advances for amateur enthusiasts lately. Good luck! :-)
Buzz Lightyear rockets are go.... surprised that the orange did not think about NOT linking both ends of the rocket, weight was there enemy to speed and height.
BIG Deman? Hi. Gay? Why, because you like big bangs and guns and playing at war and blowing stuff up? If the payload's paying your wages and you break it, you lose. You lose BIG TIME. That was made perfectly clear. This was not a weapon design exercise. No warhead, no target, no prize for destroying anything. Payload survival was mission-critical. It needn't have been human, it could have been a space telescope. Or something extremely radioactive or toxic. Or, indeed, yo fat mama. Many rockets carry satellites into low earth orbits. So... let's imagine a NASA or ESA scenario. There's a problem late in the launch. Deployment fails and - oh no! - the mission is aborted. Failsafe engineering allows the rocket to make a controlled return to earth carrying its unique and irreplaceable cargo. You break it, you bought it, bud. So the yellow team wins on enthusiasm and altitude but fails in the 'mission'. Fails catastrophically. Yellow team destroys payload and faces crippling penalty-clause lawsuit with compensation and court costs exceeding £1,327,000,000. Company dissolved. Management imprisoned for wilful negligence and failing to give a corporate damn... Oh dear, how sad, never mind. If you value whizz-bangs above all else you may be better off playing with fireworks because I think most rocket enthusiasts watching this kind of programme are more interested in... higher things. ;-)
Uhh, they always did that. As Robert said, you won't find rocket motors in a scrapheap normally so it has to be put in to make it work. It showed in the pilot when it was pure scrap that it almost didn't work
Ha ha, you are so dumb. See, no need to mention nationality. Also, aluminium is the British/European spelling, aluminum is the American spelling. In my opinion, aluminium is better. I also use grey instead of gray. However, I just cannot use "armour", "colour", or "trousers". It's just personal preference, really. Nationality has nothing to do with it.
+richintalent It was still made after the launch of the American version. So you lost nothing, and gained nothing by making that stupid comment Ps, an American manufacturer made the motors for these rockets.
Of course, I had to go and search Richard 'Buzz' Osborne.

This series was my childhood
nightrise45 Me too
That and top gear
I always remember the plane one
This. Top gear. brainiac science abuse and this are shows that need to be re made
bless buzz he gets so excited about rockets, or anything that can make a rocket... like any cylindrical tube! he probably had a tough childhood, but he loves his work and thats more than i can say about myself, good on him and great show watched pretty much all of them on YT now :(
this show is superb,
but i truly love the theme music.
a bass based explosive, percussion anthem.
Once you realise it's annoyingly similar to the theme from Time Team, things might never be the same again.
but i gotta admit i do love this kind of music, i'm this type of person, who likes this type of tune, it's so powerful the scrapheap challenge theme, i can't fault it.believe me.
:)
I love how excited Buzz is about this stuff. He must be loving seeing what SpaceX have been doing. "Landing rockets!?"
Musk is a fraud
Even back then he had the control entry rocket idea .
1998 "im going to build my own thing in about 5 to 10 years and go up there"
2014 we're still waiting, we believe in you Buzz!
maybe they wouldn't let him with his ship being part cabbage we should start a petition send buzz to mars
Lets start a Kickstarter campaign to get him money to build it.
YEH lets kickstart this cant be worse than gimme 20 grand to destroy a ps4
iNeedAnewUsername Obama shut down nasa.
Still waiting in 2016
Love the theme tune to scrapheap
And that's how Kerbal Space Program was born..
Found lying by the side of the road parachutes... Geez
@@ayzix-polytopia3854 so THAT'S where those unlanded rockets went...
See this is what you call a real and good quality tv show...way back then.
right imagine if they said 'look at her sewing like a girl for hours!' today, its sad really
This very episode got me in rocketry and I used to make rockets in my teens 😀
The soundtrack to this is a masterpiece.
Poor buzz he's amazing but everyone under estimated him
I STILL THINK HE'S FUCKING AMASING
Me too, he has the energy and excitement that I am lacking. He is fecking awesome.
OMG! Thank you so much for uploading this! I use to watch this show when I was little! This brings back memories!
I bet Buzz is playing Kerbal Space Program a lot these days.
I play that. Too.
I play Simple Planes
I heard he helped develop it
scrapheap challenge was my childhood
I kid you not, making rockets with a team or your friends is super exciting.
thank you for uploading this. i used to watch this show when i was growing up, it helped me to get interested in metal work.
I just realized when they where talking about the X Prize where SpaceX's name comes from. Mind blown. Even their respective logos look alike.
Nothing to do with each other...
Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX)
Ansari XPRIZE (originally X Prize)
They both just use X in their logo's and company names as a shorthand for Exploration. If what you are saying were the case then was Google funding all of them with GLXP (Google Lunar X Prize)

watching stuff like this always makes me want to go to a scrapyard... look at alllll that cheap cool shit.....
oh maan. I used to watch this show all the time! it was so freaking awesome, until they started making cars in every episode:(
Yeah I was thinking this myself the other night.
I miss this series.
I forgot how cheesy this was
Buzz is such a sweetheart
Believe it or not this was the first episode I seen, I was 8!
Kewl!! Rockets!! I am getting a model rocket set this summer to enjoy with my son.
How'd the rockets goo
Hi, Romanian Rocketry! Enjoyed this a lot - thank you for the upload. I hope you're still involved in the hobby; there have been some amazing advances for amateur enthusiasts lately. Good luck! :-)
I wish that scrapheap challenge came back.
Yeah same
After all these years the yellows and oranges should fight off in a decisive challenge 😁.
Lol "BUBBLE wrap" someone said from the other team xD
Buzz Lightyear rockets are go.... surprised that the orange did not think about NOT linking both ends of the rocket, weight was there enemy to speed and height.
Yes, same show, except that before it was called Scrapheap Challenge :)
looks like the motors are aerotech 38 or 54 mm. probably somewhere I-K class.
this show reminds me of that old Discovery Channel show Junkyard Wars
same show
mardlinator It is although this is the orginal. This is like the 1st or maybe 2nd series.
TheZaphod88 Which is actually written in the description of the video lol
Watched this in Tech class yesterday. Our teacher keeps calling this show "Scrapheads".
damm this looks like fun!!!
luv this show:)
cheers for putting up:)
I remember seeing this one
Good times!
Dick really lived up to his name in this episode. So full of himself, ignoring an eccentric genius like Buzz was a big mistake.
This looked fun
multumesc uploader !
Talk about robert goddard while showing a picture of a seized v2. That's 20 years of difference :)
screw the snow globe I'd take the rocket that goes 400+ feet higher, that rocket was awesome!
Bob flirting with Anne.
I wonder if buzz plays Kerbal Space Program...
M8, he made it.
10:38 Using London for target practice 😄
at 39:10 you reaaly don't know?! very clever & funny! robert was in red dwarf, and rimmer refers to space cadets or space corp directives! lol
0:18 That's what I came here for.
I have searched 2 days for subtitles, but unfortunately i can't find any...sorry.
there he isssss... :)
how can i finf Turkish subtitle? or English?
Watching in 2022.Buzz needs to get starbase, he would explode,

Is that fv215b 185 the middle one
FV433 Abbot
Oh, it's a lot of fun building and flying rockets, trust me :)
"Major Dick...." that is all.
Yup.

That guy is a bit to passionate about rockets
2:50 that chalk is shit
I know right xD was thinking the same :P

the yellow team buzz Scares me a bit he knows to much on rocket
haha i watched the full show just to watch more of buzz, lol total nutcase but damn hes funny to watch!
cool
Junkyard Wars?
That is the usa version of this show
Design a rocket?? He can't even operate a stick of chalk!
twikle twinkle little star is evil back words
This is lame!!! They should have been able to build there own solid fuel motors like car tire rubber and nos.
+D Fuller
you're describing a hybrid rocket, not a solid rocket.
So gay, rockets are used mainly for weapons more than sppace travel. Yellow team wins based on both speed and altitude.

go to dover docks and swim
What?
what fucking dentist are you!
except this version is better
thank you..but if you find send me :)
Planting items in the scrapyard, is cheating.😔
Uhh, they always did that. As Robert said, you won't find rocket motors in a scrapheap normally so it has to be put in to make it work. It showed in the pilot when it was pure scrap that it almost didn't work
It's television 😅
hey buzz it 2017 and i dont hear the news talking a bout a fat guy building his own rockit and going to space
Please don't sing anymore.
Thanks.
Signed,
The Universe
All edison was is a thief
For God sakes quit calling aluminum, alla-minium
You Americans and you're incorrect language...
+James, well yall invented the damn language and can't speak it.
And I cringe when yall say vitamin
Ha ha, you are so dumb. See, no need to mention nationality. Also, aluminium is the British/European spelling, aluminum is the American spelling. In my opinion, aluminium is better. +spence798 vit-a-min 3 syllables
Say it right
We invented the word
When discovery was still fun and educational . now its scripted reality shows that run for decades .
This was great till the Yanks ruined it.
+richintalent
It was still made after the launch of the American version. So you lost nothing, and gained nothing by making that stupid comment

Nothing says intelligence like homophobia
