I used a small kids bow with 20 lb test fishing line…. Shot arrow with cloth tip dipped in scent… shot it across a run along a stone wall , then slowly brought it back
back in the seventies we used to put an old big ben alarm clock( noisy ticking kind) out where we wanted deer to stop. many times they hear it and come nosing over to check it out. worked for alot of us. we also carried a field point in the quiver so when a buck was too far and not going to present a close shot we would shoot as close to in front of them as we could. you had a 50/50 chance they would spook closer. when your season ended on halloween we got pretty inventive. used the sling shot in the eighties to spook deer one way or the other. weekend big woods guys whose state closer on halloween had a blast. some years we actually got snow. talk about crazy. one morning 6 of us in camp took 5 bucks with a 4inch overnight snow. be well and have a ball with remie.
It may be a fluke, I made a mock scrape at 3pm Sunday. At 5:30 I had a buck come in down wind snort wheezing, grunting and walking stiff legged like he wanted to fight. The day walk scents had to be what had him worked up. I’m in wv. It’s barely pre rut
I thought up that slingshot idea in the 90s and was impregnating various items and launching them Even soaked gummy bears once to see if it would work.. 😂 Good ideas are the ones you think "why didn't I think of that"
Great great video! Been waiting for this since I found out you were doing your own sents. My order comes this week and can't wait to start using them here in Michigan. Thank you Jared
in production of synthetic scents, how do we know they smell the same as the real thing? I've sworn off scents, or so i thought till i saw you promoting daywalker. BTW, great styling on your bottles and logo
Just placed an order. For as long as I have followed your journey, I've never known you to push a product you didn't believe in, much less create one. Looking forward to putting it to use!
Got your order man, thank you as always for the support. You'll love this stuff, like you said, I wouldn't put my name on it if it didn't work really well. Best of luck!
Great breakdown! Jared, I've seen you talk about different camera arms for DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras.... which one would you recommend for sturdiness when you are moving the camera around and taking your hands off for the shot. In other words... I don't want the arm moving after I remove my hand.
Thanks! And yeah I hear you on the arm. Part of that is the arm itself, and part of it is just making sure it's level. I like the Elevate Clutch camera arm paired with a leveling Neewer fluid head like the GM27.
Did you happen to send any of your products to Maine because I have not found a scent yet that works they walk right by and I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on scents.
Good question, I need to find a better way to explain it probably. Synthetic as in no real deer urine or secretions, but organic compounds are used to make up the formula (things like plant extracts). Hopefully that makes sense.
Great question, as I have seen the same. These, at least to me, smell very much like deer compared to others I've smelled. The pre-orbital is the only one doesn't have much of a smell to us, just like the real thing, but it works really well. The others in the lineup have a pretty strong deer smell.
Also wow, that slingshot idea is brilliant. Definitely will be doing that this season!

Are you going to get some merch going for this brand? That logo would be perfect on a hat. Clean and simple.

@@jaredmills Yeah , I've looked at the capture, clutch pro, and the muddy, .... I will definitely check out the GM 27 fluid head. Thanks again!
@@Woodland-GangstaThe Capture is good too if you have a lighter camera setup
@@jaredmills Sounds good!
Been using rock w scent for years.
Unfortunately NYS it’s rist-rockers are not legal

Organic and synthetic formula? Please explain
Good question, I need to find a better way to explain it probably. Synthetic as in no real deer urine or secretions, but organic compounds are used to make up the formula (things like plant extracts). Hopefully that makes sense.
Every synthetic I've smelled never smells like the real, fresh scents? Most synthetic preorbital reek of vanilla. So are yours different?

I mean at scraps not out in the field
