I was lucky enough to see Steve play. He was absolutely terrific. A general on the pitch.

The standard of football and the quality of players has declined so drastically over the last 20 years that football today is now in its worst state in living memory. Steve Nicol in his prime is better than everyone who plays in his position in this modern era of abject mediocrity.
