      Absolutely agree with this comment. You pitch it just right Ben and it’s making a huge difference to how I approach my surfing after 12-years! I’ve made so much progress lately so thank you.

    Just had a session placing my back foot near the rail to turn, after watching this vid. Not using drop knee style yet, just landing the back foot there any way it wants to, but it really works. Turned on a dime in small waves without losing speed. 👍 Thanks.

    Really appreciate how you break down what happens so fast (for beginner-intermediate surfers) into discreet steps, and you also correlate what you're describing with video. You're concise and precise. Really helpful.

    Thanks, this will be the one thing I work on today. I especially want to make that quick, whip-around turn right after popping up.
    Idea for another time: talk about locking the board in before walking to the nose. Is it like bogging a rail but without leaning?

    • @BenConsidine
      @BenConsidine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Epic great idea, foot placement on the tail is key there 🤙
      Love that idea as well thanks so much for passing that on, will consider that and have a think about a video on that for sure 👌🤙

    I struggle with concurrently trying to keep my eyes on where I want to put myself into the wave and also being aware of my foot position.

    Hi Ben, thank you very much for your teachs!! I have a question please: to engage toe side rail (frontside surfing), which feet do i have to put more weidth? The back that is on the tail, the front feet or both?

    Hi Ben, l love your explanations and videos to boot. I have just changed my 8'6 softboard to a 9'6 fibre longboard which I am happy about as longboards seem to take more advantage of the waves at my local beaches. My question to you is, my new longboard comes with a possible three fin set up. Which set up would you recommend for starting out on the longboard? My main aim is to turn high in the waves, which are around 1 to 2 metres.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • @BenConsidine
      @BenConsidine  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much! If you're surfing bigger waves as it sounds like I would start you on the 3 fins as it will be able to hold its line and manage the speed more easily, but you can still ride bigger waves with a single fin! Board shapes play a big role :)
      If you have any further questions at all or wanted more depth/clarity on anything please don't hesitate to message - email is longboardcoaching@outlook.com if you did :)

    Very helpful video Ben, from a longboarder based in Ireland. Quick question: your back foot appears to be placed more on the toes (rather than a flat foot), on the relevant side of the stringer, is that correct? So if that’s the case is it back foot placement rather than toe/heel pressure which instigates the carving turn? Thanks

    • @Azezlay

      I just watched your backhand takeoff video, and it answered the question for me 😀. Thanks again buddy
