It hurts watching Dansoman beach in this state. Back in the 80s and early 90s it was a lovely beach with lots of coconut trees everywhere. This is heartbreaking 💔 So so sad 😭
This is the result of 1/ littering Ghana. Trash everywhere, Gutters, canalisations are blocked with trash. 2/ Constructions anywhere everywhere has bought about the destruction of all trees which play a role in the ecosystems. 3/ Urbanist experts who can solve part of the problem are not listen to by the Ghanaian gvt full of Incompetent people. Ghana has not seen anything yet.
This is News.....Great work Citi. God will never be pleased with the so called cathedral at the demise of innocent souls, affected due to unreasonable blockage at the shores, at the expense of destroying others. Any sense of urgency must be enforced now!! Please continue to follow this story.
Way back it use to be a beautiful beach. As kids we use to go there and you will see the white shiny beaches with boats on the shore. There were coconut trees. It was a really beautiful place. I visited back in 2021 and I almost wept. The kind of sand wining that has been done and rubbish been thrown into it. If I were president all those buildings there, I will make sure they are come down.
I am very impress with your journalism skills, by far I will compare you to a reporter from BBC, CNN or one of the well known reporters. great job for sharing light on these catastrophic challenge of our times in the world and of course in Africa and Ghana. Government intervention is needed to protect lives and properties.
Why do these Ga people like living near the sea and yet don’t want to develop there for themselves. They keep saying government government as if they pay any serious taxes to the government .
The last lady made a profound statement. “If the government can deposit 25 million cedis for a cathedral, he should come to our aid “. This is by far the worst of Akufo Addo. Shameless country!!
This is sad situation for the people. We are quick to blame the government. We should blame the chiefs and the elected leaders first. No one owns a land in Ghana. It belongs to the chiefs. We only lease the land. The chiefs and the politicians needs to start representing their constituents. They should fight for us everyday. We should demand that basic leadership from them.
This is heartbreaking. People shouldn’t be allowed to build close to the beach. All the buildings close there needs to be taken down for the beach to restore itself. Our ignorance will kill us.
Sometimes the community needs to come together and sort out simple stuff like clearing out the wooden structures and clear up the place... The problem is that most Ghanaians have lazy and relaxed attitude.. Wanting someone to do for them.. The government also has a part to blame.. The problem is from top to bottom.... Massive problem with ghana..
Is shocking that people lives like this , the govt has to relocate them rebuild this area as well build sea defend. Why are they allow to live like this.
Sorry to say that all the settlers on the beach are squatters which started by a PNDC man who is a friend of JJ Rawlings. He built his house on the beach when JJ was in power! As soon as Kuffour came to power every body rushed to build their houses. That is the mess they have created and they want government help? During the sea defense wall project they fought against it and now they want it! Too late now as there's no money.
@@timeout340 thanks bro and what else do they do? Disrespect the ocean by shitting (defecating) in it!!! Look at waterfront properties in develop countries which is the most beautiful place to be! It's more expensive than inland properties so what is wrong with us? Look at Dubai tourism is what made it what it is today so what is wrong with us?
Why is she not showing her face? Because she is politicising the issue so she doesn't want to show her face. You better leave that area and stop blaming Government. Whether Cathedral or not, not even NDC can help you.

You still call it a beach.
Water is the most destructive element in Nature except for fire. .
Even if you build sea walls , climate change will still cause havoc .

All payments have been covered with containers. Ghana authorities wake up from your slumber
around 2002 we used to walk all the way from glefe to gbegbes3 just using the beach now is a memory only in our brains
Aww say again
Hahahaha the girl hit him with the cathedral part , she made soo much sense

And $300 million has been earmarked for a Cathedral. What a misplaced priority!
Ohhh Ghana lg way to go

Unfortunately, this is the problem with beachfront property today, sooner or later the sea will come to claim it, due to global warming.

All the rubbish came from the sea, even the mattress! Incredible!!

Who gave them a permit to build these buildings. Ghana
Yes 4 more fore Nana so we can ignore the sea erosion and build a cathedral
The last time I went there was 2010 it wasn’t like this 🤦♂️
anyone with the mind to think about purchasing beach land or constructing near to the sea u have been warned
😂😂😂
I bet you hate development
Very sad 😔

Omg the whole stretch connected to the sea can collapse one day , the whole stretch next to the road . It's a danger zone
The Gas have done themselves no favours at all. They need to work together and stop relying on the Government to do everything for them.
😭😭😭😭😭
This one takes anything 🏃♀️🏃♀️🧑🦯
Soon the sea will take over the main road cos 14 steps away is nothing if 300 miles was covered in just 2 years. I know that place very very well. 😭
Pls nature is at work so this is not political issue
Dirty Bola Beach. DBB
wow, I love the bar.You can just shit on the floor and the sea will take it away. Keeps the place clean and fresh.
Is shocking that people lives like this , the govt has to relocate them rebuild this area as well build sea defend. Why are they allow to live like this.
People shouldn't be living this way. Very sad watching this.
One think i know for sure is that mother nature always wins.
These people have to move or the sea will clean them up
Why don't u speak the local language that woman is having a bad time

& the continuous sand mining since the early 2000s. Almost all the houses built then used sand from the shore, and these are the repercussions now.

Where are the people for terrorism
You are taxpayers and you sat there not doing nothing to protect your investment. You people living on the Beach are not serious.
