    In California we call that Rescue System 1 (RS1). Ropes, pully systems, knots, mechanical advantage concepts, etc. to haul or lower heavy loads.

    Nice job guys. It’s easy for firefighters to “ Monday night quarterback “ when watching how another Fire Department does an evolution. Just remember that those are the “know it alls”that just have to open their mouths and release all their pent up trash because they didn’t think of that idea themselves. Also they wish they had nice rigs like you have😆🚒🇺🇸.
    Keep up these great videos. This is how we learn from each other.

    Very similar to RIT evolutions here in the US, but using a MAST sling in place of the rope for the member being lowered.

    A ladder rung is not strong enough for doing this. Both side rails should be slung instead.

    Seems like a lot of complexity could be eliminated.
    Not criticizing, just saying, I think they could improve on this.

      @@pepwaverley2185 these are firefighters in the capital of Indonesia, they are not volunteers and have some of the most state of the art equipment on the market.

      @@2blackdanes Some rope and carabiners are certainly not state-of-the-art. This is definitely an example of how you can use less to do more. They do make some mistakes that I being a tech rescue / climber for 30 years would never do. Nothing that causes safety issues but just a few things you would never do if you know what you are doing. I'm not talking about the rope harness, because again if you don't have a proper victim harness or webbing to make a more secure way to lower the victim this works using the limited supplies that you have.
      They are simply using techniques that are outdated mostly. Few people know how to use a mutner hitch, because they use belay devices, and with the ladder, it is more efficient to weave through the rungs to create a friction belay, that's what we teach fireman because you can't mess up going through rungs but if the mutner is backwards you just drop the victim.

    • @2blackdanes
      @2blackdanes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fcb202 I didn’t say the rope and carabiners were the state of the art equipment or that the technique they used was the most up to date process to rescue someone. Their apparatus shows they’re not some backwoods volunteer company. The guy is showing off what are some basic skills in the fire service and proud of what he’s learned. Yeah we do it different in the US and “my way is always better than someone else’s” because I said so…
      Half of what’s taught in fire academies isn’t practiced routinely because there’s always a new way or toy to do it with, until that shit-hits-the-fan moment when that $10,000 toy isn’t in your pocket to save the day, then you have to revert back to those silly basic techniques to get the job done.
