- Xenoblade Chronicles 2 features the "chrome katana" class, which serves as a dodge tank. Perceval has a bit of an edge because the longer and more drawn out a fight is, the more potent he becomes! I highly recommend using Perceval on Morag because she is already tuned to have a higher dodge chance, which is useful on Perceval.

DieZauberwurst It might be that the items won't appear until a later chapter, even with 5-Star development. In the meantime, we have no choice but to use weaker versions of "Recharge arts by X amount every second ".

Ive finished the game three times and I still have yet to get Perceval. I got KOS-MOS at some chapter 3 or 4 in my first playthrough but Perceval? Nah.

There is a nopon in Argentum Trade Guild. If you do a certain amount of salvaging he gives you rank A salvager as well as a Galaxy Cube which adds a 50% chance of attacking again. 5% more than the Star Cube

I run morag as a agility tank with ageaon and kasandra and it works really well
Yeah she's pretty awesome as a tank. I feel like the AI holds aggro better than Tora, but that's just my experience.
Nn Li yeah Tora never seems to hold aggro as well as Morag but I just love Tora so I use him and Morag interchangeably

I liked his quest line were he was like "fuck you guys, I can solve this mystery myself" is a testament how OP he is.
Thanks for the video it has giving me helpfull info on perceval. I am only 32 hours in and on chapter 3 but Percival was the second blade I got. I got him in my second try with a common core chrystal and he has been really great!!

I think you can get overdrive protocols by releasing a 4 crown blade with a maxed out affinity chart

I built him with Rex having increased crit damage and crit healing in (before I switched him to Morag) that and boosting his crit rate made him my favorite killing machine. That being said, this build looks even better. Great vid!
TFW you naively thought overdrives would be farmable later and used the two you get early on to swap generic blades...

I found an overdrive and set it to Morag. I don't think I'll need another one for her ever again ^^
actually they are farmable, you have to release a 4 crown common blade with full affinity chart completed

You know when you begin bonding a blade, and you see the shiny silhouettes above the driver? You get three of them, and the last one is the silhouette of the one you'll get. I kept setting this one silhouette of some dude with fire hair, but it was always the first or second one, so I was never able to get them... now I know it's this dude and it makes me even angrier that I've been missing out on this dude...

I thought this perceval looked so goofy until I got him and learned he was an absolute beast he's one my favorite blades now
I have seen another build floating around for mòrag that raises her agility to the mid 600s around lv 70ish I believe. However u need specific core chips for the blades and certain gear that raises agility by percent this in turns makes mòrag pretty much dodge every attack. All in all if u really want to just primarily focus on dps u can have one main attacker, mòrag with a similar build above, and one attack/healer.
Also overdrive protocols can be farmed team 4/5 crown blades by maxing their affinity charts and releasing. They can also be obtained by maxing out the character affinity charts. There's been a rumour floating around that lv 100 enemies drop then, but I haven't seen any confirmation on that last one.
iirc only 4 crown blade give you overdrive protocol when they released with maxed affinity, i haven't tested it on 5 crowned blade
Wew Lad true unless u upgrade her main blades arts because they draw aggro while using arts. Iirc perceval has similar art that draw aggro which takes care of the massive damage issue that Rex and zeke have. (I'll check later on to make sure specific arts are the ones that keep aggro on her instead of my other two)
just slap aggro boost aux core chip then you'll be fine
Perceval was literally my first rare blade I got out of a core crystal. Now I've been playing this game for slightly over 100 hours, and he's still one of my three main blades on Rex, together with Pyra and the one spoiler blade.
Ya, I'm bouncing all over your videos today. Good stuff. Videos like this are exactly the reason it's hard to pick who to control in this game, haha. Nia with good healing cores is a lot of fun, Morag with katana is fun, solo QT pi and Solo Mythra is fun. This game needed some Mana level multiplayer for the comapaign, would have been awesome to have humans helping control the combat.
Oh my gosh a Children of Mana style game would be amazing. You'd think this game could lend itself to multiplayer considering the amount of reliance you'll have on friendly AI to beat the superbosses. It would make the game easier, sure, but there's plenty of potential for experimenting!
Nn Li I really enjoyed the multi-player stuff in X even though it was pretty slim. I really feel they missed out by not adding some here. Be able to take any core you've unlocked and build a class even if it's just multi player specific missions. I know the Tales of Series really has the whole multi-player during story as their main gimmick, but it ain't copy righted (I think, haha) nothing says another game couldn't take the idea of drop in/out multi during the story. I'd gladly go play healthy or tank for others or even in my own game while randoms or friends play the dps
After Morag joined up I used Rare Core Crystals that I had farmed from Tolen Krabbits. I lucked out and received Percival as one of her Blades.
I'm glad he's good! ^_^ he's the second rare blade I've pulled so far. Of course I got him for Nia, and I'm only on chapter 3 so I he hasn't seen much use yet, but I'm saving an overdrive for when I get the next party member

Tora is far superior from my experience. Even with really good chips and aux cores, Morag can't keep up with Rex's late game damage and maintain aggro. Maybe you can make her work with just the right combination of items and proper damage pacing, but Tora just goes ham. You can get around 350 - 450 percent damage boosts through poppy swap, and still throw in some aggro boosters or crit healing. Currently the only blades I have on REX that match TORA's tanking dps are Pyra, Mythra, Zenobia, Roc, Vale, Kosmos, and a few others. Poppi Alpha hits up to 500k with blade combo finishers, and QT pie can max in the right circumstances.
If you get a perfect every time, you don't have to play it that much. Find the bonus area in stage 2, and spell FUK DIS GAM E. Into the high scores. I never have to play it again, and all my poppi's are death machines
Morag can solo super bosses.
Jay Mcm Morag's late game damage can't compare to Rex's or Zeke's, she struggles to hold aggro. Tora on the other hand is a monster with Poppi Qt Pi. Can actually maintain the aggro and deals massive damage

its actually faster to just get every legendary blade, release the one you want to trade and then just bond with the person you want it on till you get it.
Probably the best use for Merc missions later on, maxing blades for release.
napalm777 Yeah, that works, but this game's rng is too unpredictable. There's no telling how long it will take to get that rare blade back.
i was going to comment on the lack of blade combos and driver combos but i guess there's no need when you have such a good build

There was nothing more satisfying than seeing my Perceval do 999,999 dmg on a joint drive combo finisher with his tier 3 special on a lv.97 enemy :)
I honestly think Theory is a better Tank blade for Morag than Perceval. She has a higher agility modifier, one extra Aux Core slot and her passive skills are better for the later Superbosses.
Instead of star cube, i have an item called galaxy cube that makes double auto attacks a 50/50, but i don't remember how i got it. If your interested you should look into it for the extra 5% chance.
I'm one of those guys that only know the basics of the battle system so if you're up to making a video you would really help out a lot of people
I am commenting frequently because I just love what I am seeing. I wish that when you use an item, it only uses up 1 and not the entire quantity. I WOULD be inclined to use items more often if it wasn't for that.
FINALLY got the game
started playing and got this sword on my second common summon with Nia ^^
Just got Morag and switched perceval. First pull was Elektra.. pretty awesome luck there. Probably replace her with Aegeon when I get him though for for pure AGI. Even so Morags evade tanking like a beast already.
The problem with choosing drivers is I need an overdrive and they are not frequent. If I could, I would move all my blades over but I need some overdrives. I will not waste the remaining I have.
The very last blade that I have to unlock. And throughout my entire playthrough I kept seeing his silhouette pop up on the first or second flash. But he never came out and now he's the last one I need to unlock. And 70 legendary cores later, and 99 rare cores later he's still not released.
And to make things worse, I keep seeing his silhouette pop up on the first or second flash yet he's still not out.
Actually, from what I learned, if the element shows on their name, they're weak to the element opposite to that. Wind shows up, ice is their weakness. I am still trying to figure out most of the features of item management but I am not as advanced as you.
Infernape No the element that shows up is their weakness. If it shows wind that means that they are weak to wind and they are an ice type

Perceval was my first rare pull which is pretty awesome.
I’m pretty sure incapacitate means killing the enemy not cc them. But this video is from 6 months ago so it is forgivable :P Perceval is a mob slaughtering machine since his every attack has a chance to insta-kill anything that is not a boss or UM.
Galaxy Cube is better than the star cube and you can get it in Argentum from the nopon who rates your salvaging. He gives it to you for reaching B-rank. I'd reached B rank by the time I reached Gormott, maybe even sooner since salvaging is the best way to make money.
You do not gain affinity in spirit crucible elpys. Only poppi and tora can get around that restriction.
Just a heads up, the level 80~ smaller Arachs (not the queens) in the cave near the falls in Garmott drop a legendary item that gives you 60% to your chance to auto attack instead of the 45 you have here. I have a couple of them farmed up.
Are you doing this for all rare blades or just the ones that are very powerful?

Oh interesting. Because he's a tank I automatically invalidated him EVEN THOUGH I totally checked his stats and it all told me he's more of an attacker but I STILL didn't give him a chance. Damn. I will have to play with him later today. I am always a huge fan of the dark element in every RPG and JRPG ever but I haven't found any Dark Element blades taking my interest other than Kasandra but even then I haven't used her much (because she's stuck with Zeke but I haven't used a single Overdrive Protocol yet so I can switch her over) so it's gonna be fun to finally play with a Dark Element Blade.
I saw while battling enemies with Perceval in the party a textbox that said execute or something, and it instantly killed The enemy. It was an ardanian soldier in the brionac area. Does this have to do anything with The brandish passive?

Have you tested the damage output increase? Because I'm pretty sure the dmg bonus only lasts while your incapacitate is in effect. I dont think its a build up that stay the whole battle. Itd make sence that that is how it works since thatd makin him more balanced. But the regeneration from killing is awesome for tanks.
It's too bad that over drives are so hard to come by. Pulled Boreas on Rex today and wanted it on Nia because I heard such great things so already used one. May attempt farming for other tankers for Morag before using another to switch Perc, though the agi based tanking seems a bit too good of a fit to pass on.
Also made the mistake of using a lot of rare cores on Rex and Nia. I must have about a dozen rare blades between the 2 of them and still only have Tora as the other option. Should've been more stingy.
I got Perceval on Zeke.... Feels bad man.. Definitely want him on Morag. I would use him on Zeke, but I use Zeke for them Deeps.
I made him basically a dark aegeaon in addition to aegeaon and morag gained 712 agility and can basically never get hit

You would spend less time fighting with other blades. Perceval sounds amazing for the crucible. But as you start farming end game chips, chain attacks and driver combos are essential. Using only Perceval defeats that purpose.

Can you do a build for Rex using Nia as a blade AND Mythra/Pyra along with the rest of the team? Currently I'm running a Rex with Mythra, Nia and Percival, Morag with Brighid, Aegaeon/Nim(undecided) and Kasandra and Zeke with Herald, Pandoria and Godfrey. Works surprisingly well and I don't have to listen to Tora mouthing off XD Any thoughts with regards a hybrid team like this? I feel it isn't as solid as the ATK, HLR, TNK archetypes but it kills surprisingly fast.

Im clearly doing something wrong because Im not doing nearly as much damage as you. Im stuck in chapter seven and none of my blades preform even half as well.
I got him early on but never used him. He is currently on Mia but I don't like him there. I've been playing with various builds but still using that damn annoying masterpon dude as my tank. I might move him over to Morag and check it out

Galaxy cube is much better but drops from the 90ish Beasts Dinos in Mor A.... 60% Double also the 60+ dudes in the camp to the right drops the base model of Galaxy cubes that activates at 60%
You get a free one very early in the game from a nopon in Argentum
Can you do a guide for Dromarch or Kasandra? I like both these characters a lot and want to use them at their max potential.

Jacob Fredrick Each character has different driver arts. I transferred Azami from Rex to Zeke because Zeke can break with ether cannons while Rex can’t.
