- Xenoblade Chronicles 2 's most versatile blade, Poppi, has a third form that deserves to be considered one of the very best! We'll be showing off what this beast is capable of against Pernicious Benf, a unique boss from Temperantia!
While my personal build for Poppi QTπ is tailored specifically for filling the TNK role for fighting post game bosses, players willing to put in the time in Tiger Tiger! can have her become an offensive beast with critical hits and damage bonuses.
This particular build takes a few notes from Crit Heal Mythra, but this time with more emphasis on tanking and healing the team.
Thanks to the fact she has access to all the aggro-generating skills, Poppi is the easiest tank to use, while still having all the fast-paced excitement of a DPS blade! - เกม

This should really have been a part of the poppi swap tutorial i have been playing tiger tiger for more than 2 hours straught trying to get enough ether to optimalize all the poppi’s. So much time wasted

i love all your tutorials, but this guide on poppi is amazing. i knew she could be OP but i didnt really fully grasp how until now. thanks for all ur work to help the community by simplifying all of this.
I think you may be underestimating her damage potential. Before Tora's accessories you can take her to a 330% damage modifier and destroy this boss, or any boss for that matter, in just a couple minutes with no orbs. I run at 250% with fast switch and then reduce break resist and world tree drop on Tora also bringing Rex with just crit/heal Mythra for topples. You can chain smash and sky rocket your damage modifier to 500%.
Could you go over the details of the parts you used to get there? that build sounds interesting.
Sure, QTpi has 100% increased damage at max affinity. For her skills I use Affinity MAX Atk V 50%, Vendetta V 50%, Front Attack V 50%, Pinpoint Weakness V 50% crit damage, Critical Restore III, and Fast Blade Switch IV. Other two Poppies can run whatever but should also have at least Fast Blade Switch IV. On Tora I use Beta Scope to reduce enemy break resist and and World Tree Drop to increase damage by 12% per blade swap, max 250%. The rest of my party is Rex with only crit/heal Mythra (+50% Party Accuracy and Evasion) and Zeke with only crit/heal Agate (+50% party damage). In practice all you have to do is blade combo 1 with Rex, break with QTpi, Rex and Zeke can both topple, launch with QTpi then swap to QT and smash, then swap to Alpha to proc World Tree Drop and then back to QTpi when you can and repeat.
That's a good point: I COMPLETELY forgot about the World Tree Drop. Poppi QTπ embodies what I love in a character: limitless potential!
Typically Critical Up, Arts Boost, and System Reset. Nothing is mandatory so feel free to experiment or save power.

That poppi build you showed has helped me so much with the late game. I breeze through lvl 90s while im in my 80s. I made it so all of popi's specials heal the team in some way. So not only is tora a self sustain tank but he is healing the team with the specials.

Also, the 3rd skill ram setup is bugged and doesn't work. Reddit users have tested it. Also did a few test myself and noticed it while working with all the poppis.

I read it at some post and tried if putting 20% crit adds if placed in 3rd slot and it doesnt so uhhmm its pretty useless to add anything in that 3rd slot until it gets patched

I believe you can do this after you get past a certain point in chapter 8. You don't have to wait until after. I am still in chapter 8 and have Poppi QT π.

I followed your build for Poppi QT pi and her heals are really good, but then Tora switches to the other Poppis and then no heals. Do you recommend putting team heal on the other poppis as well? Id like to maximize my damage as well as bring in a variety of elements to the battle, but if I'm stuck with Nia for heals instead of Poppi then I cant get that. What do you suggest? I currently have AB HP Absorb Arts, AB Challenger, and AB Vendetta on Poppi QT, and AB Absorb Arts, AB Frontal Force, and AB Affinity Boost on Poppi. Theyre all built as Evasion tanks
just a quick info: QTpi's third Skill RAM slot is bugged and doesn't work. it's a dead slot until it eventually gets fixed with a patch update.
I'm curious about why only one of the specials was knocked down to 4. I knocked down the second one, and put on a Affinity Max Attack to stack with Overclock. An extra 40% seems more valuable than a 1% heal on a second tier.
I'm almost positive that u need to view a hear-to-heart in the leftherian islands before the mission to unlock poppi QTπ is available

On my Rex I have both Azami and KOS-MOS i also got Nim
in the Azami episode you mentioned i could go for full attacker or mix it up.
So I guess my question is who is better Azami or KOS? or should I use them both?
KOS-MOS is far superior, I'd use mythra, an ether cannon and an axe/dual scythes on Rex
(Mostly for driver combos, spear could work too instead of axe/dual scythes if you really want)
she's my fav Hana for sure, although I haven't used Tora since Meref becomes available as a tank, and as such Hana is vastly underdeveloped ( all 3 versions);
that and the fact I have to grind Tiger Tiger; yikes.

The trick is honestly sit down with tiger tiger and try. What you're going for is to sell stage 5 aux cores for more crystals

It's honestly not that hard to grind. I do the first stage multiple times and sell the items i get. I've upgraded almost all my popi's to max (it would probably be better to do the final stage BUT THOSE RED SHARKS ARE ANNOYING!!).

they might not tbe the most usefull but you get inceased pick up range, enemy evasion, etc..

Especially the drop pick up helps with collecting drops.
Taking less time to collect whatever resource (higher pickuprange+higher drop range), walking faster and most importantly it can increase your max booster items
i got 5% run speed x4 and it makes you a lot faster traveling around the world. also lifestyle inventory up I can hold 33 noponcos

Hey Nn Li, I haven't gotten this game yet, would you say that it's worth it? I've heard mixed things about it so far.
I really, really love this game. I feel like it's a must-have for people that love JRPGs, but it won't change your mind if you hate JRPGs.
That's one thing I've struggled to understand with the combat in this game. To create the elemental orbs, you use a level 3/4 move to create one of that type? And then they persist the entire battle until you break them?
Rey Arocha you need to pull off a "Blade Combo", which is where you use your Specials to build up an elemental combo, and an orb is generated based on what the final attack of the Blade Combo was (when it gets all cinematic and you have to do the button challenge to maximize the damage.)
For tough bosses and such you'll want to try to build three/four orbs this way then use a chain attack to break em so you can pull off an absurdly long chain attack and possibly finish off the enemy then and there

Paying attention to which elemental finisher you use to create the orbs is key, make sure you generate elemental orbs that have elements that at least one of your blades counters since you can break those orbs more easily
Also, during a chain attack, try to break 2 orbs in the same turn. It'll fill the full burst gauge much faster
Also if you are at end game use that special blade when you get 3-5 orbs. ;) ;) ;)
I really wanna invest time in this but no one and I mean no one has made a very precise guide detailing how Poppiswap even works. So far everything looks simple outside of technical manuals but no one can explain to me what they are, what they do, how to implement them and so forth
Monty2289 to my knowledge, the tech manuals lets you create more parts for Poppi. Poppiswap is where you equip the parts that you created on Poppi. Each part has an enegry requirement(to the right of the menu), and you increase her energy tank with ether Crystals.
Can someone tell me if Nia blade or nia driver is better. I’ve been switching in and out and I do see both pros and cons but I would love to hear people’s opinions
Nia Driver is good if you need a dedicated healer, but once you have both a Double Spinning Edge spamming Mythra and an infinitely self-healing Poppi, then Nia Blade can be good if you didn't equip any Attack Teamheal chips on your Poppi

How come you're not usually showing your weapon set-up? (i.e aux core equipped) how do you build poppi qt and poppi?
Poppi cannot use Aux cores except Poppi Buster.

But how do breaking elemental orbs work?
I thought that on the chain attack the elemental orb that shines is the one that you are gonna attack and that one has to try to use a blade of the same element of the orb

I was like... Ehhh?
The orbs that are shining don't matter, it's just telling you what orbs you can do extra damage to with the blades your character has. Whenever you use a blade in a chain attack, the orb of the opposite element is automatically targeted, and if there IS no orb of the opposite element, it targets the orb of the same element (though it won't do extra damage). And if that doesn't exist either then it targets one orb at random.
There's an exception to this, however. A certain blade that you get at the very end of chapter 7 will hit every orb at the same time. This means it becomes much easier to break 2+ orbs in one turn, meaning a much earlier and easier full burst

Tora switches to Poppi QT as soon as shes off cooldown,it's annoying.I have to always be controlling Tora for this build to properly work.

Pfft, who needs AC Aggro Draw and Glittering Stars when gold nopon masks are a thing? You can get one as early as chapter 5 (they're dropped by some level 40 giant spider enemies in Temperantia) and IMO it's way better than wasting 1-2 slots of every version of Poppi
Tbh you don't even need that either. With the damage poppi QTpi can do that Nn Li isn't showing she keeps all the aggro on her driver without any problems.
But what if the AI stupidly switches to another Poppi
RIP I assumed you'd be using Tora for that since the AI does suck at properly coming out with top dps. If you want Tora to not switch though make sure to take of the driver combos off his other weapons. So take out his smash move from QT and take off topple from Poppi alpha. Do that and he's unlikely to switch to the other poppis unless he starts to prioritize blade combo with whatever elements you give QT or alpha. If you keep Poppi QTpi's Break art though that shouldn't be a problem. Though you'd have to build an actual damage oriented poppi and following this guys guide on it doesn't net high damage. Following Nn li's build you'd be better off using Agro arts boost to keep agro. His new build on his latest video is also not damage oriented as he prioritizes the Chain burst.

if Poppi Alpha has the Tank Mod V it will boost his health to 9999. If you didn't do that then you will have different results.
