      @@kneo12 Actually I think its perfectly fine to have doubts about God. It's a very natural thing as we don't understand Him completely since we don't have his level of knowledge and wisdom. However, how do we deal with those doubts is the issue. Do we research? Or do we just accept the doubt and say God isn't God? I think the best place to be on this chart is 2. 1 sounds great, but its dismissive and causes us to be static Christians. If we are, how can we defend or share our faith? How can we help 2s and 3s and even 4s? If we are 1s, we aren't prepared to discuss with them and are in danger of questioning our own faith when in a crisis of belief. I hope I always remain a 2 and am hungry to learn about God and the hope that is in me.

It’s just time spent in a different way. You may not need to talk to people in group for but possibly invite them 4 dinner be very generous to them from time to time while praying for them.

    It has been a pleasure to listen and be informed by Frank Turek and the Cross Examined programs. I'm very thankful and appreciative for these blessings. However I disagree with the the "prosecution" and "defense" analogy that Det J Warner Wallace used to categorize the kinds of believers and non believers within the 1-4 level system. I understand the concept, but I very much believe that being compelled to be on or favor one side or the other according to our legal system is "way" different than where a person's heart is to be accepting or non accepting of others trying to get one to believe. To be honest I don't have much faith in our legal system, but it surely doesn't mean I have a hardened heart or I'm reluctant to hear the gospel or hear what a believer has to say.

    By the definition of this video, you can do nothing to people in group 4 - hostile to religion with Darwin as their prophet and On The Origin Of Species as their Bible. They must first become people in group 3 - atheists with doubts willing to listen. All you can do for group 4 is pray for them. I hope that works.

      Btw just because someone doesn't share the same view as you it doesn't mean that they hate you, do not take criticism of your faith and/or arguments as a hateful act it's petty and childish.

Also be kind and generous to these people and pray for them. But doing so is more of a bonus. Anything that goes after the heart is a bonus. It’s just that for the people and in group 4 that’s all you can do because the problem only lives in the heart not the mind. Most of the time they know it’s true but don’t want it to be

    • @collegegrad2235

      @@skippy675 thank you so much for taking the time to read my comments and reply. The truth is in respect to Islam I’d be in group 2. I welcome all conversation. I don’t claim to know it all and I’m sure that they are things that I could learn. My heart is willing to do so. Right now my heart and mind with all its capacity to still believes that The true God is the Christian God which includes father son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If someone of the Islamic faith could convince me otherwise I would accept it. I’ve seen a lot of evidence and had a lot of experience on the Christian side but not so much in the Islamic side. Maybe you’re the one to change my mind and my heart 😀😀.
      I think you misunderstood my definition of people in group 4. People in group for are just those who reject the conversation. Or even hate people that initiate it. usually when people don’t wanna talk about something it’s because they don’t have enough understanding in it to keep the conversation, or because they don’t like the the conversation for whatever personal reason or inconvenience. Even if neither position is tilted towards the other at least at conversation is still had and each side is herd. I believe in a society where people can live together love each other and still disagree on their beliefs. We will see the true God one way or another. Or we will find out if there isn’t one one way or another. So there’s no reason to have it carry hurt feelings when people believe differently than you. People in groups before group 4 or at least willing to find out what those differences are. People in group 4 are unwilling to explore. That’s usually a sign of fear. Fear that something will change your mind, fear that something else may be true and you may be wrong. But I have no fear of being wrong. I am going to die Christian because I believe so strongly in my heart that the real God is the Christian God. And I’m so willing to take the chance that if I’m wrong I may be in what another religion such as Islam make all hell for worshiping a false God. And I will stand before God and make no excuses. Because that’s what I believed. If I’m wrong I’m wrong but I have faith that I’m not. But I also don’t have fear that I could be wrong, and I’m still willing to hear the case for other faiths should they pursue me in joining them. And if they can’t persuade me I would hope that they would still love me for their god sake or their karma so to speak. Which is exactly what Christians are called to do. We’re called go out and make disciples. Doesn’t mean that we’re going to win everyone over. Jesus didn’t do this. Not everyone agreed with Jesus. That’s why he was crucified. And that’s the beautiful thing about love it’s not forced. Even if I meet people in group 4 that don’t even wanna have a conversation with me, I’m still gonna try my best to serve them and tm love them, because that’s what God called me to do above all. To you love my God and to love my neighbor. An In the end only God truly knows he is the ultimate judge. I’ll have to see what the verdict is when I meet him again
      Much love @Sean May you continue to prosper and grow may your days be long May heaven smile upon you. God bless you and your family and your friends.

      @collegegrad2235 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sean If all humans were held accountable for their sins there is absolutely NO HOPE that anyone would ever deserve to be in paradise with God. If we are being honest the truth is there is not a single person on earth that is worthy enough to be called a good person or Capable of loving God to the standard he calls us too: Everything that we humans do is either motivated by money power sex, selfishness or pride. Even when we’re helping other people. it’s usually to make ourselves feel good. Or because we want someone else to feel good not necessarily because it’s good for them. We rarely help people or do things for others when we don’t want to or when we don’t have the means to. So by default we all deserve eternal punishment. And that’s the truth we all do deserve internal punishment.
      Jesus doesn’t change that. Jesus answers that by giving Hope to those who believe in him. Jesus was innocent. Living in paradise with God. He did not need too come down to earth experience the human condition by living with the poorest of mankind both in material and in heart, be rejected by them, and killed. He didn’t have to do any of that. So When you say Jesus did not try to dodge his cup to bear, it should be understood that Jesus had no cup to bear because he was the son of God and he was perfect. Without sin blameless. He was adored by heaven. However God realized that the reason why people were not living the life that he wanted them to live out of sin wasn’t because they didn’t want to. It was because they simply did not know another way to live. They didn’t know they could. At that point in the history of theology, was understood that good deeds could buy your way into paradise. But what people didn’t understand was that a bad heart leads to poor habits which leads to a lifestyle of sin. Which cannot be undone by good deeds. Therefore the human condition was doomed, because no amount of good deeds could allow humans to save themselves from judgment. The Bible says that even our Best of deeds is like the tampons used by women during that time. It says filthy rags but buy filthy rags the interpretation is actually the rags that women would use for their periods during that time stained with blood. even our best kindest deeds are motivated or done with evil hearts. I mean you see it all the time. There are many pastors and holy men in all religions that claim to be close to God, but yet do terrible things such as rape little boys, take advantage of women, take advantage of men ect. You cannot please God by doing good things and having an evil heart. Then those things that you’re doing are not good things they’re just things that you’re doing to hide how evil you are or to try and make up for the evil things you’ve done. But you can’t. Why?
      Because when people sin it not only affects them but it affects everyone around them. It’s a multiplier effect. There’s no way that people could ever justify the pain and suffering that they’ve caused not only to themselves by committing the sin but also to the people who were a part of it. If you have ever lied before one time in your life, that makes you a liar. If you had ever had sex before marriage even if it was one time in your life, that makes you an adulterer. If you have ever been angry with someone, Bible says you have actually killed them in your heart. If you have ever stolen once in your life you are a thief. If you’ve ever look at a woman lustfully once in your life you have had sex with her in your heart. That’s the standard that God calls us to. And we have all fallen short including myself. However imagine you had a child. And this child was on a destructive path to killing himself. How would you save them? Everything you told them to do they’ve not listened. At some point you have to show them how to live their lives so that they can understand that there’s a better way to live.
      That’s all Jesus did. He showed us that we could put other people first and be stepped on rejected by the world and even killed and even until our last breath still tell people I love you still bless other people still pour from an empty cup. Still give people when we don’t even have. He showed us at in God‘s kingdom that actually building riches. By being the least in the world we are the most in God‘s eyes. Jesus also showed us that when man dies he doesn’t die permanently he can rise again to be with the father in heaven. Before we had no hope of that. But Jesus showed us that we can truly trust that when we die and give credit to the source who did it first by believing in Jesus Christ that we can know that we will rise again and join God in paradise. So as you see by believing in Christ we don’t dodge the fact that we are worthy of being doomed to internal suffering. And that doesn’t change. We still are. But through believing in Christ we’re living a life of hope, that we can strive to be perfect in character and in love even though our human condition is terrible. That we can live a life that still produces the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Love joy peace kindness ECT) even though we are experiencing suffering and pain On earth. By believing in Christ we are looking at him and saying here is God in human flesh that has experience the human condition as we have experienced it, and still rose to God standards. We have fallen short of God’s Standards thus far. But I trust that I don’t have to anymore because I saw, I heard, I know that God himself rolls to those standards even in the human condition that I am in now. So I can model my life after him and do the same thing. This man told me that if I should believe in his ways and who he says he is and if I model my life after him, then my doomed fate which I deserve will be a good case that is sure to win when I stand before God in judgment after I die. Because when you live like Jesus did with the heart that Jesus had, the Temptations and selfish desires in your heart begin to fade away in a process called sanctification. That’s when your heart begins to change and you begin to actually live your life putting other people first and putting gods will first. Again the most important commandment love thy God and love thy neighbor according to Jesus.Because only through Jesus can any man see the father in heaven.
      No other Faith gives that hope. For me personally I know that I am doomed to an internal pain and suffering because I am a poor human. And here comes this man Jesus saying that I can model my life after him believe that he’s the son of God and it’s a sure thing that I could change my fate and be with the father in heaven? I’ll take it.
      But we Christians don’t get off easy. It’s not easy modeling your life after Jesus. It’s not easy turning from our wicked ways. It’s not easy putting other people first. It’s not easy understanding God‘s will, and following it. There are a lot of false prophets in the false teachers out there. We must daily read our Bible and daily be in prayer. Fast when appropriate. To really hear and understand gods voice. It’s a sacrifice that has to be made every day to discard our own desires and hearts that don’t glorify God(definition of sin) and Read God’s will (the Bible) keep his commandments. However we may stumble and fall victim to our human condition. Thus following Christ is constant battle to stay in Gods will. Thus God gives us Grace which is the chance to do right even though it’s not deserved. According to the Christian God one can only give what they receive. God gives us love and grace, so then we learn how to love and give grace other people including ourselves. We also learn how to be patient with God and wait on him, when we are in pain and suffering. Because he waits on us to get our lives together. So believing in Christ and what he did tells God that we believe that we believe in your ways and that we believe in your will and that we are willing to change our ways to follow your will because we’re going to not only believe that Jesus is Lord but also follow him bye living our lives like he did. Which because we are all God‘s creation is as well. I don’t think God created us just to see us suffer and internal domination. I believe how it was created for the Angels that fell out of heaven. Because they were actually in the presence of God and denied him they actually saw God. The Bible tells us that something about angels make some unredeemable. Think about it if you had children would you create them just to see them fail? Or if you saw them failing would you try to help them and show them how not to feel? So it would make sense that God would provide Jesus as this hope to answer the human condition by which we are all doomed to eternal pain and suffering. And what’s crazy is people enjoy internal pain and suffering. Because they believe that’s what life is. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

      @@eastofmain5696 sorry I wrote that comment very fast, my point was, I think it is widely accepted that having faith can be defined as " believing something based on your own expirience and not necesarly on reason"
      I mean that if you are a Christian, probably you are not a Christian because you came to the conclusion that all the evidence points out God exists with a 100% probability, but, you believe in God principally because you feel him, thus, you have faith he exists.
      I have asked a lot of religious people if they have ever thought that maybe God doesn't exist, and almost everyone of them tells me "right now, I am positive God exists with complete certainty"
      I even asked in r/Christianity (Reddit) if they had any doubt about God's existence and basically everyone said no.
      I think when a believer says "I believe in God" he is most certainly saying "I know God exists"
      Belief has a different meaning when talking about religion. On this case belief=certainty, but in everyday life it means "think there is a high probability something is true"

      Richard Stoltzfoos No. He explicitly says, "Christians who are starting to have doubts". With this he implies that doubt is needed to be skeptical. Need i go any further. Doubt is not needed in order to be open for persuasion. If you cant convince someone who is open to persuasion with your arguments, its either poor arguments or a poor recipient. No doubt is needed to be acceptive of new evidence. The doubt comes after the persuasion process.

    Matthew 13:34-50 (identifies the two basic types of people in the world--those who follow--or try to follow--the RIGHT way that GOD showed us through Jesus Christ and those who reject the truth and right way by adopting leftism--or one of its various incarnation (paganism, polytheism, tribalism, feudalism, monarchism, racism, socialism, realism, materialism, nihilism, fascism, communism, Marxism, Maoism, solipsism, naturalism, determinism, progressivism, feminism, etc... ) that are all poor alternatives to the true RIGHT way of GOD.
    This is also referred to as the Ideological Spectrum (between what's RIGHT/MORAL/GOOD vs WRONG/IMMORAL/EVIL) as outline in Genesis 1:4 in which GOD made everything in creation to be GOOD/RIGHT, and therefore anything that opposes that divine order, rejects GOD and his RIGHT way. And so, it was the first of his creations---with free will--that LEFT the RIGHT way of GOD to pursue his own way, thereby becoming the first LEFTIST, he then corrupted humanity can caused them to also leave the right way for their own, which was taking them down the same path as the first who LEFT. We have been lost ever since, that is, until Jesus came to lead us back to the RIGHT direction that will return us to GOD.
    And as such, the following is the proper alignment and order to the Ideological Spectrum:
    GOD = RIGHT
    Judeo-Christian/Conservative = CENTER-RIGHT (sheep) lawful (Disciple of Order) or has the video identifies them as GROUP 1 & 2.
    Non-Judeo-Christians/Social and Economical Secular Conservative = CENTRIST (goat) somewhat lawful (Free Agent) or as the video identifies them as GROUP 2 & 3.
    Non-Judeo-Christians/Classic Liberal/Libertarian/Social and Economical Secular Liberal Conservative = CENTER-LEFT (goat) Somewhat lawlessness (Free Agent) or as the video identifies them as GROUP 3 & 4
    Non-Judeo-Christian/Anarchist/Social and Economical Secular Liberal/Authoritarian = LEFTIST (wolves) lawless, of these, there are those who then pretend to be Judeo-Christian & Conservative/Social and Economical Liberal aka RINOS aka Hypocritical Opportunist = LEFTIST (wolves in sheep's clothing) lawlessness for them, but not for others who they oppress. Both leftists are Agents of Chaos or as the video identifies them as GROUP 4
    THIS is the Ideological Spectrum as outline in the Judeo-Christian Bible, which leftism seeks to misconstrue with the "Fog of War" that leftism creates so that people become confused disoriented to the RIGHT alignment to keep people "lost in the dark" and away from truth (GOD).
    Judeo-Christianity and by extension the Holy Spirit is the “Moral Compass” to help us know what is true, and what is not and how to find our way in the darkness and back to the light.
    This is why leftist created the "Far Right" or "Alt-Right" in order to discourage people from going to the RIGHT direction.
    The simple fact is, those that have been identified as "Far Right" and "Alt Right" are actually LEFTIST (Fascist, Racist, Nazi, Neo-Nazi, etc...) because there is NO such thing as "Far Right" or "Alt-Right" the ONLY one who is ON the RIGHT is the ONLY one who is RIGHT and that is GOD. (Mark 10:18)
    Other passages that support the Ideological Spectrum and explains the division that is going on in the world, that is NOT just a Cultural or Political Struggle, but a Spiritual & Ideological War that been going on for thousands of years (Jeremiah 2:13 & Matthew 25:34 & 25:41; Psalms 79:13, 100:3; 1 Timothy 4:1-3; 2 Timothy 4:3-4; 1 Peter 2:25; Colossians 2:18 & 3:1; Acts 20:29-30; Luke 21:8; Mark 6:43-45, & 10:18; Matthew 7:15-20, 10:16, 12:33, 24:5, & 24:24; Isaiah 5:20, John 3:19, 2 Timothy 3:1-17; 2 Peter 3:3-4, 9-12; Romans 3:10; 2 John 9-11)
    Joshua 24:15
    John 8:31-32 & 14:6
    Psalms 28:7

      I was like you. A skeptical unbeliever who rejected Christianity. The critical issue in determining whether or not Christianity is true is if the resurrection actually happened. If the resurrection happened, then Christianity follows.
      Keep in mind also that the fact that there are some unanswered questions is not evidence against something or good reason to withhold belief. EVERY worldview has unanswered questions. EVERY scientific theory that has ever existed or likely ever will exist has unanswered questions. Virtually every case that has ever convicted someone of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt has unanswered questions.
      Yes there are some unanswered questions about the life of Jesus or why a particular prayer wasn't answered. But so what? So long as we have compelling evidence the resurrection happened, then we are justified to believe Christianity.
      J Warner Wallace makes a compelling, cumulative case for the resurrection by demonstrating: 1) The gospels were written within the lifetimes of eyewitnesses, 2) The apostles had no motive for lying, 3) The claims about Jesus did not change over time, 4) The historical claims made in the gospels are corroborated by external sources, and 5) The alternative explanations (conspiracy, swoon, hallucination, late legends, fooled by impostor, etc. ) don't work, i.e., they do a very bad job at explaining the rise of Christianity.

    5:40 Turek's classic facile reduction. Having some idea how Christianity might be proved true is actually very important for the formation of an answer. If I'm trying to imagine how I'd respond to a real world in which Christianity was absolutely, irrefutably true, I'd need to understand how I came by that understanding. Dig deeper, Christians. Turek's just trying to sell you stuff.

    • @browserboy1984

      I disagree with you. I think the exact opposite question is fair too: "If God didn't exist, would you become an atheist?" Obviously some would still cling to their faith (in nothing) while others would accept the truth. The point being that those who reject the truth do so emotionally.

    • @drumrnva
      @drumrnva 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@browserboy1984 No, they aren't opposite questions. Turek's question has two parts. 1) If Christianity were true....so if I'm going to imagine that Christianity were true, I need to understand how I came by that knowledge. Because my skepticism is not based purely in emotion, it's based in decades of observation of human behavior, including my own when I was a believer. And if I somehow accepted Christianity was true, and this entailed all the Bible stories being true, NO WAY would I bow the knee to such a horrific character as the Biblical god. I don't believe in might makes right.

      @@browserboy1984 No indeed. I'm fortunate to have grown up in a system of law that respects life, liberty, and property. A system that recognizes the rights of the individual as the most reasonable foundation to a free society. If an American judge suggested someone other than the perpetrator of a crime be punished for the crime, or that the perp could transfer their guilt, the judge would be laughed at and summarily dismissed. If I suggested that human blood sacrifice was a reasonable practice, I'd be ridiculed, and rightly so. And the ridicule wouldn't be based on "emotion". It'd be based on observation over centuries of how societies work. If a US President took office and ordered troops to kill every man woman and child in Cuba, Congress would object and invoke articles of impeachment. The impeachment wouldn't be based in "emotion". They'd be based in the recognition of due process. They'd recognize that rule by a single person is fraught with failure points, and that tyranny and injustice are much more likely when all power is concentrated in the hands of the few. This is just simple observation. I don't believe for a second that the Bible stories are literally true, but if I did, I couldn't in good conscience follow the god that's depicted there. Because I respect freedom, and responsibility, and human rights. Any being that insists on killing instead of teaching hasn't earned the least bit of respect.

    "if Christianity was true would you become a Christian". No i would not. Christians praise god, and so no i would not become a Christian, i would believe god exists true. But he is not worthy of praise. The god of the bible is a vindictive vengeful god. Not a standard of morality by anyone's standard. No one ever admits to agreeing with all the things god "did". Its a pick and choose. Whenever god does something good, "praise god, its a miracle". And whenever he causes countless deceases and natural disasters you go "god is mysterious". None of them would do or get away with the atrocities that god has done. And yes i could if i would judge gods morals. He made commandments about not killing for one example. He has done tons of it based on who he did not like. Just because he is god does not mean he gets to decide what is right or wrong. Slave owner argument. If god was a man who kept slaves. He is in full control. You cant do anything as the slave. Is the slave owner immoral? I mean he is the guy that sets the rules. He may have even bred you aka "created" you. So now you owe your existence to him. Its bullshit. Its the "you must respect your parents" bullshit. When your parent drowns the entire planet to start over even though he knows it will not turn people from sinning. He is a fucking moron, or he is downright evil.
      And your bullshit argument about people "choosing" to recent god. Is utter bullshit. Children who knew nothing of your particular god will go to hell. People of other religions will go to hell. Or the just as likely you will go to hell because some other god, lets say Allah, is the correct one. Did you "choose" not to believe in and serve Allah? No you simple believed otherwise. God sends you to hell. If i went up to you with a gun and asked for your wallet. You refuse and i shoot you. Its not murder right? you chose the bullet. So i am innocent.
