      @Yekkt God is real, Facts

    • @LucidVision138
      @LucidVision138 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Yekkt And he's not real because you say so? okay sure you could probably make an argument comparing God to mythical figure such as Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, but I think it's quite obvious that there is an intelligent designer and don't get me wrong I think it's completely understandable for someone to not believe that there is but what I don't understand is how someone can claim as if it's a fact that there's no God. Did you know that in the UK 55% of scientist believes in an intelligent designer? Now of course there's that 45% which is a big number but here is how I simply see it.
      1. We know that the Universe had a beginning and for over a thousand years people and scientists believe the universe to be eternal even though the Bible says that the Universe had a beginning While most religions claimed there was no beginning and that the universe is eternal, it wasn't until we discovered that the universe is expanding which falls down back to a single point proven that the Universe had a beginning and we also know that the universe will have an end as well when the universe runs out of energy.
      So what caused the universe into existence? Now sure you could make the argument that doesn't mean God did it, but I think it's at least acceptable to say it's possible, just like some scientist who claimed that there could be multiverses even though there is absolutely zero evidence of such a thing.
      2. We know that there is intelligent complexity in our DNA so where did that intelligence come from? Now sure you could argue Evolution but even with Evolution that doesn't answer the question of where intelligent life came from because and evolution that all falls back to the very first single cell life. No cells and DNA is instructed with codes to adapt to life and to develop the way we do so how convenient is it that the Universe accidentally came into existence with the right set of laws of physics and just so happens to develop intelligent complex DNA for intelligent life to evolve to observe the universe, just think of how meaningless the universe would be without life to support. I want you to find it quite convenient?
      3. When the Big Bang first occurred all the laws of physics came into play as well and just think that of any of the laws of physics were off by just a small fraction then life and the universe itself would not be possible, so whatever came before the universe and the Big Bang had to have been Timeless had to be spaceless and immaterial, again you could argue that doesn't mean God and you could also argue that if it was God then who created God, well considering that we are talking about a supposed being that supposedly created time space and matter then that question wouldn't be logical for such a being considering that if God had a beginning that means that he would have to apply to his own laws of physics that he supposedly created. God is outside of time space and matter and he created time space and matter, when you think of God you have the wrong idea of what God is like because you probably think about somebody with a white beard sitting on a cloud on Earth but that's simply not true and that is only a cartoon adaption to the Creator, God is not a physical being and he's not anything we can comprehend. He is an infinite being of light and energy who executes the laws of the universe.
      now you could argue that we have never observed God but when you make that argument you're speaking as if God can be put in a test tube or observe through a telescope and the problem with that argument is that we are talking about testing or observing a being that created us to be observed and on top of that God is outside of space time and matter.
      4. What about morality? Without God or any form of an intelligent designer of the universe then you can't justify morality because at the end of the day your point of view of morality is nothing more than just that, a certain point of view. Without morality then we could argue that Adolf Hitler was right because from his point of view he was right, but we know that morality exist because we naturally know that murder rape and child molestation and other immoral things are just simply wrong, why is it that us humans who are supposedly meaningless microscopic beings on a floating Rock understand morality? You don't need a government telling you that murder is wrong to understand that it is wrong, you just know so where exactly did morality come from?
      5. What about historical figures in the Bible? While many figures in the Bible is debatable whether if they're historical or not, there is still a number of people in the Bible that did turn out to be historically accurate and one of those historical beings is Jesus himself, now sure you could argue that he was just a normal man claiming to be a Messiah but there were so many witnesses of him performing miracles. you can also probably argue that Jesus didn't exist historically either but that would be a false statement if you do your research because before the New Testament was written in the first century when Jesus supposedly was born and died there are historical figures of the Roman Empire that wrote about Jesus just two years after his supposed crucifixion. on top of that the brother of Jesus whom is known as James is the first person to open a Church of Christ and the New Testament of the Bible was written not too long after the death of Jesus and Shirley nobody would believe a fictional story when everybody lived in the same city of Jerusalem and in the same lifetime as Jesus right?
      I'd also like to point out that even if God of the Bible doesn't exist then who's to say there isn't a God that we've never heard of before that has not revealed himself to us yet? yes truthfully we don't know 100% but I would also like to add that there are millions of cases of near-death experiences and all of those cases referred to seeing the light before death and even many of those cases speak about meeting Jesus and hearing the voice of God? You could argue that they were hallucinations but I seriously doubt that millions of people that have confirmed near-death experiences had the same hallucination, that's just simply not likely and there are even Hindus Muslims and atheist that have had near-death experiences and supposedly met Jesus.
      one of the biggest reasons that I believe in God besides faith is the fact that my father was an atheist my entire life but around the time I was about 16 years old my father had a near-death experience in the hospital and ever since then he believed in God but unfortunately he passed away a year later when I was 17, as well as I know my father I can surely tell you that he was not a man of superstition and he is debate at my mother countless of times about religion so him being converted after near-death experience is convincing enough evidence for me, of course I can't prove to you that any of that happened but I'm just saying. And even if all these near-death experiences are nothing more than hallucinations then that still gets plenty of Reason good reason to not doubt the possibility of God.
      Basically what I'm trying to explain to you is that I have nothing against an atheist or someone in general who does not believe in God because I understand why it's hard to believe because at one point I was the same way but just because you don't believe in God and that it doesn't make logical sense to you that doesn't automatically qualify Believers into being morons even if they are wrong because there are plenty of reasons that a lot of people have to believe in God.
      also I don't know if I had made any grammatical errors but I was typing real fast and I don't feel like correcting any errors if I made any.

    • @danielwilkinson1024
      @danielwilkinson1024 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Matt Smith It is each individuals choice to accept Christ or not. Forcing does nothing for a person's salvation, they make that choice to receive willingly.
      You say, "believe or burn" like it is being forced upon you. If there are only two choices to spend eternity and one of them is a place of utter loss and the other place is utter gain, then which choice is the smarter choice? Be wise, to choose Christ is to gain life.

    • @danielwilkinson1024
      @danielwilkinson1024 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @Matt Smith It is not good to stereotype, it can make a person look foolish. Are all doctors hacks because a few have committed malpractice? Are all lawyers scum because some chase ambulances? Are all judges unjust because a few make rulings based off their political opinion? Are all cops tyrants because some are power hungry? Is Christ and all of His followers liars, because of a few that you know are? Are all of Christ's disciples thieves because one of the twelve, Judas Iscariot was?
      Since Judas Iscariot was a thief, did that also make Christ a thief? So what if you know some, *ahem* "Christians" who have lied. God is just, if they don't change then they will reap a harvest they won't want. Regardless, does that make Christ any less true? If you see a bad apple or some bad apples, don't automatically assume the whole orchard or every apple is bad. It could be that at that orchard is just a negligent caretaker.
      My point on this specific posting is this; don't unjustly judge Christ based off of religious hypocrites. Christ also had to contend Himself against religious hypocrites too during His ministry.

    I knew God existed even before I became a Christian. For at least a decade I could feel a spiritual tug-of-war for my soul between God and Satan. That’s how much God loves each one of us. I kept denying Him and He kept fighting for me. Once I gave God permission by submitting to Him, receiving Jesus as my Saviour my depression went away, my suicidal thoughts went away, I became joyful for no apparent reason. My faith grew out of the love and commitment God gave to me. My faith may waver but I will always know deep within my soul that God is real. It only takes a heart for truth and He will reveal Himself to you.

    I think what he’s saying (and this is my guess) that of course faith is enough but you have to know what you actually have faith in. You have to understand what you’re believing in order to have true faith. The reason of “I have faith bc i grew up in church” or “I believe bc my parents believed” isn’t actual faith bc you don’t know what you’re truly believing in. You can’t believe in something you’ve never truly researched or looked into. Again, just a guess here.

      The bible calls faith confidence, assurance, and foundation(substance of things hoped for).
      The sad thing is that most people (particularly those who grow up in the faith) never actually develop a testimony, which should be the reason they use to defend why the believe. It's hard for someone to talk you out of your faith when you can tell them that your God healed your broken leg in a matter of days when your doctor said it will take months, or that when you were in debt and were about to lose everything you had, that God had your debt cancelled and gave you a surplus of money for you to take care of all you bills, or that he kept you and your family in a home with lights on and food to eat for 2 years when no one had a job.
      The bible says taste and see that the LORD is good. You don't have to be able to use philosophy to explain how the word of God is true all you have to do is be able to prove it by your life and your testimony.
      Revelation 12:11 says that they overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony.
      Faith ensures that you have a testimony and it gives you the confidence to stand on that testimony.
      When he asks do you believe this book to be true and then follows up with "why?" the answer should be "because I have tried it and it works".

    Faith is enough. Evidentialism isn't the only way, as reformed epistemologists like Alvin Plantinga, William Alston, and Nicholas Wolterstorff have pointed out. Evidence is a nice addition. Faith is completely rational in and of itself, as reformed epistemologists like Alvin Plantinga, William Alston, and Nicholas Wolterstorff have pointed out.

    I grew up mainstream religion/ no bible/ after a family suicide I took (Him) a little more serious. I did not go to the church for answers (if they had answers I would have known them.) A union man gave me a bible (which unions always did) for someone's death. I am glad he did. Been a Word person since.

    I absolutely agree its OUR responsibility to dig in into God's Word every day and not rely only on 1 hour a week sermons. But apostles didn't go into apologetic details to prove anything. They just shared what they saw. It all comes down to, are you looking for God? "those who seek me , find me"....or are you looking for excuses to stay away from God? because there's million of excuses.

    Faith and blind faith are the things we're dealing with here. If you struggle to answer why you believe/know something to be true then you likely have blind faith. Having an answer also isn't going to guarantee someone starts to consider that the bible is true. We can only plant seeds and pray because we're not the ones changing their hearts.

    • @lilchristuten7568
      @lilchristuten7568 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correction having an intellectual answer(which he is suggesting) may not cause them to consider it to be true.
      Having a testimonial answer undoubtably will.
      You tell someone all the things God has done for you, and all the things that he is doing for you and the person you are talking to will have a hard time dismissing your testimony.

    This really burdens my heart. Our people are starved for meat, and hungry wolves circle the flock taking away those who aren't well-grounded in the faith. "My people perish for lack of knowledge"! Jesus talked about the seeds that were sewn in good ground bearing fruit. This is where we get our expression "well-grounded" from. If you've been told all your life "just have faith" but then someone comes along with a different Jesus or a different gospel or supposed reasons why the Bible can't be true, and you don't have a good grounding in the underlying facts and evidences for your faith, you're going to be instead like the seeds that grew on thorny soil and got choked out, or on rocky soil and had no depth.
    I had a chat with my church's new pastor this past Sunday, and I told him that I would like to see classes at this church (the church has a planned school building they are saving for) for adult-level Christian education. Not just Wednesday night Bible studies (not that there's anything wrong with that). I told him that I believed that hermeneutics, exegesis, apologetics and all those other big polysyllabic words were not just meant for pastors or for Christian colleges/seminaries or for theologians in ivory towers, but for all of us! He agreed and said that was also a goal of his, that we could one day offer free adult-level courses on those sorts of things and more. So I'm going to stay where I am for the time being and do what I can to help guide things in that direction, Lord willing.

    The main cause of this is the failure on the part of the Parents. My mother, grandmother and many of the "uncles and aunts" I had in Church (yes, I was taught to call ALL grownups uncle or aunt if I was given their first name to use - wish kids had that respect today) were well meaning Christians who told me over and over "The Bible says it, so I believe it, and that settles it."
    My father, on the other hand, never said that. He has four doctorates in theology, he constantly examines the Scriptures and history and researches everything. Ad nauseum. And I take after him. Love digging into the beginnings and reasons why and such.
    In other words, I didn't get swayed by the evolution nonsense in school or any other worldly issue NOT because I trusted (without knowledge) the advise of my well meaning uncles, aunts, mother and grandmother... but rather because I did as my dad did. I did as Paul exhorted us ALL to do: be like the Boreans and dig into scripture and SEE if what is said is true. Verify, have a REASON for your faith.
    Faith is not some religious magic. The word means "Trust" and the action upon that "trust". You have faith when you sit in a chair that it'll support your weight: you know that most chairs are built well and designed to do that job, and you put that trust and knowledge into action (faith) but sitting your rear end down and relaxing. You have faith that a pilot of a plane is qualified, sober, and of sound mind and that you'll be delivered safely to your destination: why? Cos you KNOW that pilots are tested, trained, and expected to be those things. You don't KNOW FOR SURE that the specific pilot you HAVE is such, of course, but in general? So you put your trust and your knowledge into action (faith) by getting onto that plane and letting the pilot take you to wherever.
    Same for God and Jesus and the Cross and the Empty Tomb. I don't just believe because I had third and fourth hand knowledge given to me by my parents and loved ones. I DID believe that way at first (all children do... and get tricked into believing in Santa and the Easter Bunny at the same time, most times!), but once I came "of age" to be able to think and reason things out for myself, my father taught me the greatest lesson of all: examine and question EVERYTHING. So I did. I went at the Bible with a critical eye. I heard what my unbelieving friends said, and then went to check their sources. THEN I went to check the evidence for the statements in the Bible. THEN I laid it all out and said, "what makes most sense? Random blind chance and "nothing exploding into something", or God..." Etc, etc.
    Have a REASON for the Faith within you. Otherwise your faith is just blind trust, not really faith. We all get to a point where we have to use faith WITHOUT knowing for a fact we'll see the result, but that's like me having faith that my dad will keep his promise and pick me up from the Train Station when I visit him. I have no evidence that he WILL be there, but after the best part of 50 years, I know his character and that if he says he'll do something, then come hell or high water, he'll keep his word. I can have faith in my dad. Same for God. Once you get to know him, if he then says: "Jump. I'll catch you." you'll jump! You trust the one who just told you to do something, so you do it. Then and only then is "faith blind". But not really blind. You've still got a REASON for it.
    So parents? Get off your lazy butts and start teaching your kids to think. The MAIN source of teaching for children should NEVER be the schools... just look at the bull going on in America right now for evidence of how bad an idea THAT is. YOU are the primary teacher for your children. If you raise them and teach them in the Faith THEN they will not depart from it in their old age. If you fail? You'll answer to God for that. Don't rest on "blind trust". Seek knowledge and confirmation.
    "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I KNOW whom I HAVE believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus."
    I now KNOW. I don't believe blindly. I KNOW.

    Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality-faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. 2 For by this [kind of] faith the [a]men of old gained [divine] approval.
    3 By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. - Hebrews 11:1-3 Amplified. Faith in the only Living God is grounded in evidence. Now that evidence might be rejected by an atheist, but it does not negate the fact that it is evidence, nor that it is acceptable, nay crucial to my salvation in Christ Yahshuah.

    Matthew 16:18, Jesus leaves Peter ahead of the church and Jesus also told him " I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven" meaning that only people that follow the only church of God(the Catholic Church) are entering heaven. We can also see that Ephesians 1:23 also says " And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.". Meaning that you're going to find God at the fullest in his church and "church", meaning to only his church(the Catholic Church) and does not state "churches" for example, protestant church, baptism church, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, etc. The only true church of God is the Catholic Church that Jesus left for us, not "churches"

    Jesus said that without childlike FAITH we cannot enter God's Kingdom.
    Faith without corresponding action is, of course, just mental assent. It is dead.
    Children need no more proof than what is written in scripture. When children SEE faith put into action, they see JESUS. When children are taught to put faith into action, they come to KNOW Jesus.
    Apologetics is a good thing, but it will never replace childlike faith with good works which builds treasure in heaven. A child with this sort of experience - pick up your cross and follow Me - might stray, but God will always finish His true Work.

      @@uncasunga1800 Again he is not saying faith is not enough for you to be saved. Salvation is not the issue here. How can you prove to other's that your faith or what you believe in is TRUE purely by faith? Salvation/faith is not enough, you need to act it out (AGAIN NOT TO BE SAVED) but because works is evidence of your faith. It is for other people to see. Get it? We are called to preach the gospel if all we have is faith and not the knowledge to preach it then we can't be effective. We cant just wish or force someone to believe w/ out knowing what you believe in; that is simple blind faith. Read your bible again and increase your knowledge mate.

      He isn't calling for the kind of knowledge that you are talking about. He is calling for intellectual knowledge to prove that the bible is true, but God never gave us that duty. We are commissioned to preach the gospel so that others can believe, you cannot preach what you do not know, so the knowledge that you are talking about (that is knowledge of what the bible says) is a given. We are also called to be witnesses (to testify about the goodness of God) we become witnesses through our testimony (telling others about what God has done for us) of course to have that testimony we have to live a life of faith.
      Your works prove your faith, your testimony tells what God has done for you and inspires others to seek the same life(kind of life) of faith that you have.

    If you receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost it is real. Much of Christendom are cessationists and deny the Spirit. It is a con game. You are told that if you believe you have the Holy Spirit.
    Ephesians 1:13 KJVS
    [13] In whom ye also trusted , after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
    After you believe you receive the Holy Spirit of promise. When I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost/Spirit it was a powerful spiritual experience. If you have the Spirit, then the following verse becomes true
    1 Peter 1:5 KJVS
    [5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
    Apostle Paul was converted in mid step on the road to Damascus. That is how powerful God is. If you are one of the promise seed, there is no walking away. I know. I have lived and suffer greatly with chronic pain and weakness due to a spinal cord injury for 35 years. The last 20 have been very hard. And yet when I loose hope and feel that all is lost, the Holy Ghost moves on me with the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. And if you have not the Holy Ghost, you have not a clue of what I mean.
    Titus 3:4-7 KJVS
    [4] But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, [5] Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; [6] Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; [7] That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

      Luke Wagner yeah amen. I always thought I was a Christian but never read the Bible and didn’t believe it until God revealed Himself to me and told me that it was His word. I’ve believed ever since! Couldn’t wait to get a Bible after that went down lol
