Probably the BEST advice you have ever given!!! Relevant & Immediately Actionable!!! OUTSTANDING Mike! This is why you are a THOUGHT LEADER in the space.
Thank you Mike! 1. 15-20 mins a day go to Dribbble/Behance to learn particular UI skill 2. Think about a personal(side) project, brainstorm and sketch out ideas 3. Peaking into the market, see jobs, terms, who they are looking for, types of companies
The last part is so smart. What are people looking for... easy to ignore where the market is going when you are busy with work. Have a plan B, such good advice. Keep looking at the job market.
Solid advice. I just got laid off after staying at a company for 6 years and I didn't stay consistent at keeping tabs on the current design roles out there. It's changed quite a bit since I took a Sr. Web Designer role 6 years ago where now it's hard to find a job with that title anywhere. Anyway, good advice as always. Gotta keep that side hustle going and that resume and portfolio polished!
Can I just say how happy I am to actually hear you boast about the importance of visual design. I’m a visual designer in a tech company , looking to dive deeper into product/UX design as well. I’ve been put in a few positions where I’ve been told “well visual design isn’t really important in UX” or people not really understanding why I’m so nit picky about updating and pushing for design improvements- making me worry about my future in my career. But after seeing your videos it’s really made me grasp my skill and push further on amplifying what I know and to do more competitive research. I’m always on Pinterest for new ideas and inspiration! Will definitely start looking into where the market is heading towards. Do you recommend for me to keep my site updated and live even tho I’m not looking for new jobs?
Mike lowkey hinting at ADP that he's ready to bounce if they don't pay up 😂 Jokes aside, love the straightforward, real and down to earth advise from you man. Always.
Ok your video is seriously always on point. Thanks for making all these videos bc I am certainly an aspiring UX designer and your videos give me good ideas and things to become an excellen UX designer.
Hi Mike, do you have any books, magazines, etc that you would suggest for UX designers to dive into or keep up with for growth, and personal/professional development?
Probably the BEST advice you have ever given!!! Relevant & Immediately Actionable!!! OUTSTANDING Mike! This is why you are a THOUGHT LEADER in the space.

You're right. Probably the best advice of all. Stay up-to-date on the marketplace at all times. Had to learn this one the hard way.
Always love your vids, Mike, essentially from day 1 of my UI/UX Design career shift. Thanks for keep doing these.
Only if most UX Designers made such concise and on point explanations like Mike, the industry would be way better! Great video as always!
Gotta be safe while driving man (my friend lost his life while doing this so I get little concerned) Thanks for your insights. :) Safety First!

This is exactly what I do everyday! I practice sketching and visual designs too! Thank you for the reassurance!
Please don't overwork yourself everyday and burn out. That being said, that last point about watching the market is very true.
This is exactly what I needed to focus my practice as a newbie! Thanks for sharing all this valuable info, Mike! You rock :)
I started to post projects daily on GitHub tbh it's really helped me learn code. The projects are small and not anything special but it helps.

Thanks Mike for video. What about reading books or articles about design? It's only important in the beginning of career as UX/UI designer?
