As an IBSC sufferer for 50 years, I wish there was a simple answer. I know you’ve investigated all the usual things, so I won’t bring them up here. Tips from my experience (which may be different to yours): stay hydrated with water, if something smells like it will hurt you, listen and don’t eat or drink it, find a doctor who gets ibs (not easy and I’ve been through many), find a community like the Reddit ibs one where you can get a laugh and some support that your symptoms are real and a simple answer like more fiber or low fodmap diet will cure you. I get bad cramping with my episodes, but I’ve had doctors who say ibs doesn’t hurt like that. Communities who experience what I do helps keep me sane from this nonsense. Be kind to yourself. Have a moo moo available when you need it. Get painkillers and/or antispasmodics if that is what you need to have on hand. I went to pelvic floor therapy for my condition (I called it poop class) and that has really helped me. Hope something here helps. Wishing you the very best of health and luck.

@@heatherkuphal924 I have been prescribed Nazatidine or Omeprazole (depending on my insurance at the time) for my flareups. These meds are meant to be used up to about 3 months at a time and not meant to be taken forever, because they can eventually cause diarrhea. So depending on your system and current medications, maybe this is something you could ask your doc about.

    • @anatolia0222
      @anatolia0222 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I constantly get matched as a warm so I've learned the hard way not to trust people colour matching me as I often end up too orange or yellow. Even so called neutral shades are often too warm leaning for me, but apparently cool tones aren't quite right either. I'm genuinely starting to wonder if I have a cool olive undertone. My mum does for sure, but she's in the USA and I'm in the UK so I can't exactly compare directly.

I have suffered from IBS for years to the point that I was missing or having to leave work because of it. Even intentionally made errand trips very short because I never knew how my body was going to act from day to day. A year and a half ago I completely changed my diet and now eat plant based. This was for me, an instantaneous improvement to my IBS. It’s a pain but finding your trigger foods is key. I know this may not be the answer for everyone and it’s super inconvenient to re-haul your entire diet. Meds never worked for me and I just got sick of feeling bad every single day. Food journal maybe might help also? Good luck to you, I know the experience is awful and not often talked about. I applaud you for doing so and hope the best for pain relief and comfort. 💛

    • @aquamelissa

I suffer from nerve pain (trigeminal neuralgia) and switching to a mostly plant based diet helped me a lot. I was at the point where I couldn’t take the pain and the amount of medication I was taking. I was able to go off of all my meds for a brief while, although I am back on some but not as much as I was. Anything is worth trying to see if it will help. Try slowly though, if you are worried if you can do it. Dairy was the biggest culprit for pain for me and I still don’t have it (except for some cheese every once in a while...and I pay dearly for it).
      It may be worth trying.

My IBS symptoms wound up being an intolerance to lactose & eating anything too high in fibre, fats, or refined carbs/sugars. My pancreatic enzymes aren't LOW, not enough to warrant a prescription supplement, but they're lower than average, so I've found I digest food normally as long as I ensure I eat small, balanced meals that are moderate or low in those things that irritate my gut. It's annoying, but it's better than abdominal pain & malnutrition. 🙃

I thought I was the only one with weird tactile issues. I can’t stand when I see people put popsicle sticks in their mouth, use those disposable wooden spoons (you don’t see them much anymore as plastic is more popular.) or touch pizza box cardboard. My skin begins to feel crawly and I get nauseous. Of course it seems like such a minor issue as I’m learning about all the terrible problems and life-altering issues that people with IBS have. I do love how Robert’s community tries to reach out with helpful suggestions. You never know what may work for someone. I hope the medical field begins to treat this with the seriousness it deserves. Just because a condition isn’t fatal doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a huge impact on quality of life. Most people can handle the ups and downs life throws at them if they are healthy, mentally and physically. Kudos to you all who have to deal with life and are battling with these symptoms too.

Re: IBS... I've struggled for years and was even too physically disabled to work at one point. Even though there are so many of us struggling with it, it can be hard to talk about, especially when there's still stigma surrounding it. So thank you for opening up about that Robert! If you haven't already, please talk with your doctor and don't be afraid to escalate care to a specialist if you have not already. There is finally more medical research being done on therapies for IBS as it is being taken more seriously, and there are some investigational therapies already being used off-label that can help some people (as it did for me). I know it's also super frustrating to focus on simple non-medical solutions (besides the cursed fodmap diet lol) bc we want and deserve serious treatment, but don't forget the basics and understand our physical triggers. For me for example, my IBS flares up badddd when I don't get enough sleep. Those of us with chronic illnesses of all types need to really focus on those little things more than others and it feels unfair but is so important! I hope you and others reading this find healing and relief 💜💜

I second seeing a specialist, I actually had to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy before my gastroenterologist would diagnosis me with the fabulous and sexy IBS/D.
Mine is aggravated by certain foods, mostly highly acidic foods, but also stress/anxiety.
I have found that gut anti-spasmatic medications, like dicyclomine, help A LOT with the more annoying symptoms, I know not everyone wants to take pills.. but they're the only thing I've found that stops me from wearing a path in the carpet from my office to the bathroom.. 😬

PCOS also causes cystic acne, unwanted hair growth, depression, infertility among a ton of hormonal mood changes. I love Fenty lipsticks and highlighters, though I use them on the eyes because they are INTENSE. I think I might try one of those small eyeshadow palettes as well someday, I really like the green one.
As for foundation I the OG matte fluid foundation looked HORRIBLE on my skin, accentuating every tiny bit of texture and pores. I Have the powder foundation as well but I think it's a tricky one... it kind of sticks to my skin where it's difficult to blend and sheer out while building up in one spot looking super cakey. I only use it on top of my setting powder for additional concealing and to set my eyeshadow primer. It's great for that.

That's actually a great idea. I would maybe do a little more research and consult with your doctor or nutritionist to make sure it's right for you, but coconut meat has wonderful antioxidant properties that help protect your cells, it can also help with slowing digestion and regulating blood sugar- just to name a few health benefits, it's really such a great food to add to your diet. My mom was diagnosed with diverticulitis many years ago and also has a history of stomach ulcers, there are many things she cannot digest properly. Even plain water will sometimes make her feel nauseated. Coconut water is something she can tolerate and it's equally as hydrating as water, so her doctor encouraged her to work it into her diet more often. Best of luck with your IBS struggles, I hope you can find more relief in the future!

Hi Robert, not sure if you'll see this but I also have bad IBS. Something I've found is that it gets worst when I am stressed, and in turn stressing about what to eat worsens it for me. I've read online that stress can be a big factor. So what works best for me currently is sticking to foods I like but are somewhat easy to digest. But also having the recipes written in the kitchen helps, because then there is also less stress thinking about what to make. It was really bad before I started doing this about half a year ago, and since then I have just been growing the list of 'safe' recipes that I rotate though. Sometimes even though I cheat in between, like when eating out, it isn't as bad as before. It also helps that work has been less stressful, so that only makes me believe more that stress is the main trigger, for me personally at least. I hope that you are well, I've loved your videos for a long time and am so glad to see your channel grow 🥰

I don't know if you have been to a gastroenterologist, they might do a colonoscopy, which is a camera up the colon. You can be sedated so don't worry bout that. But I do think if you haven't been to see a gastroenterologist definitely go see one to rule out Irritable Bowel diseases like Ulcerative Colitis. And of course fabulous as usual. xx

But after losing a job because I was constantly late due to having to stop to go to the bathroom, I decided to try it. It’s not immediate, but after a week the amount of bathroom runs I made was almost half. I do still have flare ups and horrible days, but I just take a little bit more than usual and just try and relax and it helps a lot. It doesn’t make you spacey or affect your mental state, it just feels like your intestines have calmed down and relaxed. I prefer the under the tongue drops personally, but you can also get gummies or water soluble solutions. I would honestly highly recommend it if you can get it in the UK ❤️ also I love you Robert! 🌚
