If anyone's interested in the origin of this piece, look up Olatunji's Drums of Passion. You'll find Jingo there. Both versions are kickass, if you ask me.
First pressings of both the "Santana (I)" album (Columbia CS 9781) and the 45 RPM edit of "Jingo" (Columbia 4-45010) initially (and erroneously) credited classical-music composer Aaron Copland as writer; on my promo copy, Copland's publisher, Boosey & Hawkes, was listed on the label. Perhaps the "suits" at Columbia thought Santana was doing a jazzed-up, rockified version of the fifth movement of Copland's "Statements for Orchestra," written in 1933-35?
Sin duda esta fue la mejor formacion de Santana Band.

Tutti i brani di Santana sono sempre un successo ,anche questo.Che dire viva Santana!!
Santana performed this song as a homage to Olatunji. It was a remarkable presentation.
Amazing. Gracias, Carlos y Olatunji! Mike Shrieve, yes!

Slim is a lot closer to Olatunji although he certainly puts a charge into it.
