    I actually legit got confused if it was FS2020 or real life once the video mentioned it. I almost immediately concluded that it was FS2020, but then realized it was real life... incredible how awesome FS2020 is.

      @@Admistt Well do you only play FS2020 on very low settings? Because I was legit confused at first questioning if this really was FS2020 or not, so I'm not sure what videos of FS2020 you watch but the sim is very realistic, much more realistic than X-Plane or FSX.

      @@thecomedypilot5894 I don't have MSFS, it's not good in my opinion, at least compared to other sims. I've watched a lot of videos though, on the highest settings possible, and I do agree it's very realistic, but in my opinion, the colours are too saturated and looks too much like a "game". Other simulators like X-Plane 11, or even soon X-Plane 12 can reach those realistic graphics, with better flight models, systems etc...

    • @thecomedypilot5894
      @thecomedypilot5894 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@Admistt What? X-Plane will in no way shape or form look better than FS2020. They're only making an X-Plane 12 because they want to remain as the #1 flight sim because FS2020 is currently the #1 sim. XP12 is just a way to get more people to invest thousands of dollars in their sim, it's just a ripoff. XP10 looks like XP11, and XP11 will look no different than XP12. The default scenery and flight controls are horrible in XP11, unless you invest thousands of dollars into making the sim look great which is exactly why they're making XP12 so that you can spend hundreds more, XP12's just a ripoff, don't fall for the trick.

    • @Admistt
      @Admistt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@thecomedypilot5894 I have no idea i’ve you even done any research on XP10-11-12 but everything you just said is just stupid. MSFS may be the #1 flight sim, but that is because it’s a game, it’s not hard to use. XP takes knowledge and practice, and there’s a reason why there’s study level aircraft there, and none on MSFS. There’s no trick, and everything from XP11 will be compatible on XP11, so whatever you bought on XP11, you’ll be able to use on XP12, so you don’t have to spend any more money than you already have. XP12 just has a better lighting engine and better clouds, so you spend *less* money. And either way, all those addons and stuff, they going to the developers, not laminar research. Did you even look up anything you just said? Because I did.

    Neat to see the reversers deploying on a CFM 56 engine. Best view I’ve seen of that. My employer’s A319s and A320s use V2500 engines which use cascade vane reversers. That’s where as the reverser cowls slide aft, blocker doors divert bypass air through the exposed vanes, directing the airflow forward. Interestingly, the CFMs on 737s use cascade vane reversers as well. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an Airbus with CFMs up close. I’ll have to read up on how the reverser linkage works on those engines.
    Thanks for the video.

    Something that caught my attention was upon turning into the taxiway @ 7:18, the front left tire appeared to be under inflated. I understand that tires do tend to give way on turns, but for an aircraft of this size, it surprised me as to how low the tire body gives way, it almost appears the tire rims may even touch the pavement.

      That's very common on the A320. If you tke a look at the NLG from the side, you can see how it's slightly tilted forward. So when it steers to one direction, one of the wheels might not even come in contact with the ground! (P.S. I work on A320's all day, but mainly on an empty maintenance configuration, I assume if it's full of pax and cargo the tyre deformation is even higher)

    I love how many people are arguing for this being MSFS2020 - it shows you how far that program has come it terms of realistic graphics
    This footage however is 100% real. Many indicators - the vibrations seen on the forward wing structures and slats (FS has very little variance in vibration modelling), the light and shadows cast on the aircraft fuselage (shadow and light rendering in FS casts those tell tale jagged and shaky edges), ocean and boats with their wakes (FS doesn't do a good job rendering wakes at small scale), the trees and brush you see on approach (FS doesn't have the variation seen and they are still not scaled quite right, always a big tell), no terrain pop-in which is common on FS, fidelity of runway, variation in runway and overall variety of cracks (FS just doesn't render the depth seen here in the runway flaws), movement of vehicles on roads (FS has horrible vehicle pop-in and weird movement, vehicles often not quite rendered at the right scale, vehicle movement often doesn't make sense, ground vehicle collision detection which is not right in FS), vibrations seen in engine based on their weight hanging from the wing after landing, etc. etc.
    This is real but MSFS2020 gets closer with each update.

    I'm voting real. Right off the bat you can see the camera view rotate with the gear being deployed. I don't doubt that there is a landing gear view in many flight sims but I doubt any developer would take the time to make the camera rotate with it. You'd simply just turn on the gear view and it's there. I'd be questioning it more if the first 15 seconds were cut out.

    Excellent ground texturing, especially the runway - best I've ever seen on a flight sim! Very realistic. Shadows are still not quite right (plane on the ground), but not too bad. The mesh is very detailed and accurate now - is the resolution less than 1m? Although the photo real scenery was good, it was too bright once one got down low, and that looked fake. Great to see passable road traffic. One thing I note all flight sims miss out at the moment is wildlife and people - and without those, as good as the overall graphics are, things still feel sterile. I know that details like animals and people are really only visible below a certain altitude, but without their presence the "oh wow!" factor drops off under 1,000 feet or so. Still, this video shows a flight sim miles ahead of poor old FSX, the last sim I tinkered with...

      You realize this is a real video right? About the shadow, you can literally see the light reflect off the thrust reverser back into the shadow without compromising a single bit of detail of the shadow. This isn’t a render. The whole title and description is there to make you think it’s rendered. It’s not. It’s a real video of a real plane in the real world. Look at the suspension, ground handling, etc. Read the a320fcom and look at the specified times for the gear doors to close. You’ll see it perfectly matches the time on the video. It’s crazy how people genuinely believe this is an msfs render

    To people thinking this is a sim because the landing gear has been retracted early, you are missing a crucial point. How would we have such a nice footage if the captain retracted it just on approach ? This was the aim of putting a camera on the landing gear guys. It is 100% real life there is absolutely no doubt (not mentioning the variety of textures that no sim can ever reach)

    • @MrCaiobrz
      @MrCaiobrz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not only I would totally lower the landing gear earlier just to get the footage, you CAN lower it at any time if speed is under 240k (on the A320), which should be your speed for the last about 10min of the approach anyway. Dozens of dead giveaways this is real, only the first 10~20 seconds can fool someone (who doesn't know the MSFS A320 doesn't have slats, which are clearly visible here)

    • @NiteFPS
      @NiteFPS 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are certain approaches where it is required to retract early like the one in Japan. But I ain't sure on this approach prolly captain's decision, It seemed like it was an intercept from above since they were on idle for a very long time even with the gears retracted(cause the only time I heard the engines were on final app).

      I world have said real as when coming into land you can actually see traffic on the roads moving (when quite high up as well which is an achievement for a programme) - incredible detail if so high up. But on the flip side when the plane lands the shadow on the runway is too ‘perfect’ - exactly straight lines almost as if artificial and just didn’t look ‘real’. And if the shadow was real, wouldn’t it have changed shape or slant as the plane turns and goes in the opposite direction unless the sun was directly overhead at every point? Any other time of the day if the sun was on one side the slants or shadow would tend to lean in one direction then slant to the opposite as the sun ends up on the other side? Yet both the engine and nose show perfect shadow no matter what direction the plane is on the runway.
