Wowwow That is a log of good Yellowfin. i Love Yellowfin ! So delish. So far this is the trip you would dream about in your best dreams for the rest of your life ! I'm wondering , provided there was something left of this YellowFin, would they let you bring it into NZ ? YEW Fantastic !
welcome to the most beautiful country in the world... when you're sailing around there, just be wary of the weather-- it changes fast and can get very knarly... Phil
Congrats on a fantastic safe passage to New Zealand, the Gods were with you for sure because you had the smoothest crossing of any of the other boats like Parley who got pounded. Your there so enjoy the 2 Islands and be prepared, Mother Nature could be waiting for you and you know how much water is waiting for you in your journey ahead ! Enjoy and best wishes 🇨🇦Cdn. Dave🇨🇦
😀😀😀👍👍👍❤❤❤ Very impressive 100+LBS yellow fin Tuna! That new lure sure did the "trick"! You all really ate good. Bye for now from a "fan" in Seattle, WA. It's 25 degrees F but there is no snow yet this winter.
wow, Wow, WOW! *GOOD* video guys, Just Amazing. I like how the stud who's been battling the fish, still manages to grab the skipper, assuring the MONSTER doesn't pull him in the drink as he attempts to gaff your future deliciousness. 🙏🦉 🏞️
That's a wallhanger tuna, but you would have to buy a bigger boat to hang that monster.😂. 12" of snow here on the coast of NC last night so we're bundled up watching Wesail.
You guys must have eaten 25 lbs of tuna each, in just three (or four) days!! I’m assuming NZ would never allow fresh tuna ( non commercial) into their country. What a luxurious passage!! Thanks for posting early in the day. My workout just FLEW by. ❤
you guys have arrived on a spiratic summer. but epic so far. I'm not a patron, but can you drop a hint if you legend legends are swinging by wellington or the malborough sounds?
Hi..Seaman's.👋What you caught was a Yellowfin Tuna, the most sought-after species of tuna on the market. In Japan, a specimen tested for meat and fat sold for U$D 25k The heaviest tuna ever caught was caught in Aulds Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada, on October 26, 1979. It weighed 678.6 kg (1,496 lb) and was caught by Ken Fraser.
Just subscribed, absolutely loved your content. Can't wait to see New Zealand episode.

Yeah it was a big one!! Hope the snow clears up soon! Just stream WE!!
Fun fact * In Hawaii a fish over 100# is called a ahi. Normally a ahi is yellowfin tuna.
Oh shoot, ya I’ve heard ahi before but didn’t know it was related to weight!
A tuna below 100# is a shibi.
good job

We definitely had our fill of tuna, and honestly, we worried about the NZ laws but found out that they DO allow fish that was caught along the way!!!
The runs was yummy too.
Love that coppercoat bottom! And... will new zealand let you keep all that beautiful tuna?
you guys have arrived on a spiratic summer. but epic so far. I'm not a patron, but can you drop a hint if you legend legends are swinging by wellington or the malborough sounds?
A slipknot around the tail would have made that landing 200% easier and assured the fish got in the boat.

Nothing wrong with fresh tuna sushi.
Nothing at all 🤪
Beautiful passage.
Sucks about the no food law, Did you eat all the tuna or cld you keep that?
Fighting and catching a large tuna is a bit like having a tug of war with an NFL offensive line.
Haha well said!! It was amazing that we got it landed on such light tackle
So new Zealand instead of Papua new guinea? Guessing cyclone season.
100% correct
