2 things I am glad to see this year, the Bills finally made it back to the playoffs and the beyond long overdue induction of Jerry Kramer. I am not a Packers fan but I am fan of the game of football
When I was a young boy 50 years ago my father bought me a book authored by Jerry Kramer called Instant Replay. That book made me fall in love with pro football and with Jerry Kramer. Always thought he was one of the very greatest offensive lineman of all times and couldn't figure out why he wasn't in the HOF. He is now though and I'm so happy for him and glad it happened while he was still alive. Jerry just turned 85 last month. Thank you, Jerry, for the great book and for your great career.
I learned about the green bay packers by reading "Instant Replay' while living in Germany. 1978. I became an instant packers fan. The ethics of the packers because of the influence of coach Lombardi struck something in me and has lasted . if you ever receive this Mr. Kramer, your book changed my way of thinking on a lot of things. I am a packers fan for life! Thank you.
I never paid attention to football until I read "Instant Replay" in 1978. I've been a packer fan ever since and so admire that team especially Jerry Kramer. I watched for years to see if he got into the Hall of Fame. Yes!!! I am happy now! Go Pack!!!!
What is to figure out in stats 1. Pancakes: pass block 2. Knockdown : run blocking 3. Penalties 4. Perhaps where they rank in pro football focus 5. Sacks given up 6. Blocks won: complicated but a mox of both pass and run block
Today's the first day I've met Jerry Kramer. He came and watched our varsity football game. he has his own special holiday here in Sandpoint. I'm a sophomore I don't play on Varsity but it was amazing sitting right by Jerry Kramer and not realizing there's cameras everywhere. they're doing some sort of special film for him I didn't realize it was him thought he was just a nice old man. Congratulations on the Hall of Fame.
How is Chuck Howley not even on this list? 10 seasons, 5 all-pros, key member of the original Doomsday Defense, Super Bowl champion, first defensive player and only losing player to win Super Bowl MVP.
Jerry Kramer was one of the greatest guards alive today all NFL decade Jerry Kramer was just one of the greatest lineman's ever and I love you Jerry Kramer should have been in the Hall of Fame and coach Lombardi was right on the head when he said that Jerry Kramer was going to be one of the greatest lineman of all time three NFL championships and a two-time super bowl champion the man. Champion 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Randy gradishar absolutely deserves to be in the hall of fame. 7 pro bowls, 1978 defensive player of the year, and over 2,000 tackles in 10 years. He isn't even on this stupid list
it should not hurt Jerry Kramer that he has 10 teammates and a coach in the hall, that's fucking bullshit. just because he was a great player on a great team you wouldn't want him in there? what's the sense in that? and it only adds to Lombardi, a guy the. NFL loves.
omg. i just found out my first favorite player growing up is not in the Hall of FAME. I Started watching football in the 60's and JERRY KRAMER was my favorite player. I remember reading a book he wrote called Winners never Quit. He broke so many bones and could have retired without shame but he loved football so much he kept coming back. He may have played with more injuries than anyone ever. But it never showed on the field. Bart Starr was my favorite quarterback. I Cannot believe the Hall of Fame has not inducted Jerry yet. he gave his all to football and has perhaps the best blocking ability to this day as far as pure talent and guts. He could do anything he was asked to do including kicking field goals. He belongs in the Hall just like Supertramp and Styx deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall.
You absolutely knew he was going to make it...after all hes a Packer from the glory days. For the NFL the politics and big markets takes precedence over exceptionalism!
Where's our little YT contributor "The Professor?" Now THERE is someone who should be in the "Hole of Fame!!" Started out as a "wide receiver" and finished out the weekend as a "split end"!!
Robert Hudson And after Jerry Kramer suffered a broken ankle on a kickoff return in the 1961 season, Forrest Gregg played right guard (in the player introduction TH-cam clip from the championship game, Gregg is announced as the starting right guard with Fuzzy Thurston playing left guard).
My source must have only counted regular season games, because it only listed Gregg as a guard for one season. Without question, he was the best player on a line that now includes two other Hall of Fame players.
Yep, it's about time Kramer got in!! It's a shame really, he should have enjoyed his HOF stature for the last 45+ years but better late than never I guess. Speaking of overlooked players, I believe they should take one or two years and have a "BULK" induction of Senior players who have been overlooked or just plain forgotten about after all these years. While I'm a Packers fan, I am also a Football fan and believe players like Chuck Howley(Cowboys LB), George Andrie(Cowboys DE), Mike Curtis(Colts LB), Pat Fischer(Redskins DB), Bob Skoronski(Packers OT), Johnny Robinson(Chiefs S), Jim Marshall(Vikings DE), Alex Karras(Lions DT), and I'll go one step further, Dave Edwards(Cowboys LB). Look at their stats, years played, team records, etc. I really believe these guys and a few others have simply been forgotten about, out of sight, out of mind. Also a select group of retired football players(HOF's) should have a say on who gets in as well, not just sports writers. Most, if not all journalists' today never even saw these guys play in real time. As I stated earlier, and with the Hall of Fame limit on the number of retiree's who are selected each year, they need to have a "mass" or "bulk" induction for senior players to right all these wrongs made over the years.
If you put a list of the best NFL OL's together, I think Jerry Kramer if he wasn't on the first team, would've been on the second team. He should've been a first ballot HOF. The best OL in Green Bay Packers history.

Time to update this list NFL. Kramer and TD are hall of famers now
ZhangtheGreat , I remember Gene Hickerson, a guard on the 60s All-Decade like Kramer, wasn't elected until he was nearly dead. Took an all-out campaign by three HOF running backs he blocked for to get him in (Jim Brown, Bobby Mitchell and Leroy Kelly). He was inducted with an oxygen mask on stage and I don't believe he was able to make a speech. He was one of those classic NFL Films linemen who you'd see blocking 20 yards downfield in front of a running back!!
in your top ten list, i may suggest a little weak slow all around back from Georgia, that gained more than 18 000 all purpose yards in the NFL (+13 000 yards from scrimmage), with his USFL Numbers 7 115 yards rushing and receiving (only 69 returning), he is still the current number one of all time in all purpose yards in american pro football ; i guess the HOF is not about that …
Jerry Kramer made the HOF...Feb.3, 2018....'Bout time!!!
And he's still alive to enjoy it.
About time. One of my favorite Packers. Congrats, Jerry Kramer.
Not even a packer fan & i know this.j.kramer h.o.f.
It's only right. It shouldn't have taken that long.
The final block in the Ice Bowl.
So glad he is in their now. My grandpa played football with him at sandpoint high school, great football player and great guy.
NO LONGER! CONGRATULATIONS JERRY!!!
Glad he entered. Long time coming and he's alive to receive the honor.

Finally made it! Way to go big man
0:28 For those that really believe 60's NFL players were slow, these are linemen flying around the edge at this speed.
Kramer, T.D, Branch, Boselli and Karras are all now hall of famers
FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY, a HOFer 🙌
How is Chuck Howley not even on this list? 10 seasons, 5 all-pros, key member of the original Doomsday Defense, Super Bowl champion, first defensive player and only losing player to win Super Bowl MVP.
Update: Chuck Howley class of 2023!!
Jerry Kramer sold his rings to put his kids and grand kids through college. A generous legend
Not anymore
I'm so glad he's in the hall of fame now
Thank God Kramer finally made it!

He finally made it in for the class of 2024, which was long overdue for him
Thank god he is finally in
And he did it without steroids. Just raw hunger and muscle.
Thank you to pro football focus and football outsiders for helping quantify the value of offensive linemen.
the guy has got to get in
Jerry Kramer first became eligible for the Hall of Fame in 1974, but didn't get in until 2018. But why did it take him so long? Makes no sense.
Thank god Jerry finally got in. It’s criminal how long it took
NFL films knows Roger Craig isn't in the HoF yet right, he at least made more of an impact on the game than Ricky Watters
Peter Schane He might be soon. Sometimes it's just a matter of time
He fumbled alot. He's on the borderline....i loved watching him....and i admit i haven't looked at his stats so don't chew me out....just sayin.
He was the first ever all around back. Before Faulk, Gore, Westbrook and Tomlinson.
@@davidfromcolorado5295 First ever? You must not know that the NFL existed before 1980.
Now he made it!
it should not hurt Jerry Kramer that he has 10 teammates and a coach in the hall, that's fucking bullshit. just because he was a great player on a great team you wouldn't want him in there? what's the sense in that? and it only adds to Lombardi, a guy the. NFL loves.
It’s 2018 and Jerry made it in guys!!! #GoPackGo
So true!
Now he is in the hof ABOUT DAMN TIME
JERRY KRAMER IS A HALL OF FAME LEGEND!!!!
(FINALLY!!)
And he’s in one of the most iconic photos in nfl history holding up Lombardi after his final game as packer coach winning their second Super Bowl
I think it's wonderful that football fans and players from every team all agree that Jerry Kramer deserved to be in the hof
omg. i just found out my first favorite player growing up is not in the Hall of FAME. I Started watching football in the 60's and JERRY KRAMER was my favorite player. I just found out he is now in the Hall of Fame. They got it right. I am so happy.
I'M FROM CANTON, OH AND AM ASHAMED THE HOF HAS NOT INDUCTED JERRY KRAMER. HE IS WITHOUT DOUBT THE BEST GUARD WHO HAS EVER PLAYED IN THE NFL.
So glad he is in now
You absolutely knew he was going to make it...after all hes a Packer from the glory days. For the NFL the politics and big markets takes precedence over exceptionalism!
It’s insane it took him so long.
Congratulations, Jerry! They finally saw the error of their ways!
Jerry Kramer is always Hall of Fame material but he's been waiting for over 40 years now
Where's our little YT contributor "The Professor?" Now THERE is someone who should be in the "Hole of Fame!!" Started out as a "wide receiver" and finished out the weekend as a "split end"!!
He kicked the Hell out of that ball man
He's now a senior finalist for the 2018 hall of fame class! He should get in.
i know he will get in if not today hes a legend today too packer fans and is a great guy
Congrats, Jerry
2:25...Use the same stat as the one used for Forrest Gregg, the right tackle.
I used to watch Alex Karras eat his lunch twice a year
I am a Packer fan and Alex Karras should now be #1 on the list of guys not yet in the Hall. Great player!!!
@@patrickmorgan4006 - he really was. He gets no credit because Detroit never won anything
When they first made this list a few years ago, it had derrick Thomas and Ken stabler on the list.
I guess my point is these lists don't age well
Congrats
Jerry Kramer........Greatest Guard Of All Time
He is in the hall of fame now
He’s in now 🏈 👍
Glad Jerry finally made it. The biggest name missing from this top 10 list is Stanley Morgan.
Glad Jerry finally made it. The best player missing from this top 10 list is Stanley Morgan.
Well now NFL Films, you can remove Jerry Kramer from your list as #1. He just got the call today.
This list needs to be revised. He was enshrined yesterday!
I agree
Was Forrest Gregg a guard or tackle on the Packers?
Harry Engel thx.
He played both before settling in at right tackle.
Let me correct myself. Gregg played left guard in 1965, when Fuzzy Thurston played in only three games.

Kramer the Tamer
can you please make a video of the toughest runningbacks in history.
He in there now
Ken Bowman had a a little something to do with that block too.
That us true. Plus, they were blocking Jethro Pugh; if they had to block Bob Lilly, Starr might not have made it into the end zone.
a Missouri battleship for a guard and a tank for a runningback.Jerry Kramer and Jim Taylor
now he is
Yup y'all have to re do the list now TD and Kramer are in

Lester Hayes, Henry Ellard
If you put a list of the best NFL OL's together, I think Jerry Kramer if he wasn't on the first team, would've been on the second team. He should've been a first ballot HOF. The best OL in Green Bay Packers history.
Time to update this list NFL. Kramer and TD are hall of famers now
Looks like he MIGHT be getting his shot this time around!!!! ...8/25/17
Clearly this top ten needs to be updated🙂
Jerry Kramer Made it into the Hall of Fame in 2018
Well, not anymore!
He in.
Harold Jackson should be on this list
I'd say he'll get in, but I've been saying that for almost half a century. When is this guy going in? It's a damn crime he's not in yet.

He was so athletic, I wonder what his career would have been like had he played tight end?
I've played against his Sandpoint team before cause mine is 30 min away
Took you 8 hours to upload the top ten
Jerry kremer is in the football hall of hall
Fuzzy Thurston should be in Canton.
