Etosha In Brief

During my time in the Peace Corps in Namibia I had the opportunity to visit Etosha National Park. It was a relatively dry time of year, but I still saw herds of zebras, gazelles wildebeest. Giraffes loped along, stopping to nibble on the tops of trees. a small herd of elephants took refuge under a copse of trees that provided meager shade from the brutal sun. No water was about so they hosed themselves down with sand. We passed several nesting ostriches who eyed us and their neighbors warily.
This will give you a brief glimpse of what it was like. The movies were taken with an Olympus OM1 Mark II sporting a 12-100mm stabilized zoom.
