Cool repair, but in the demonstration at the end, the saw cuts terribly. I don't know if the chain was on backwards or the honing with the angle grinder didn't work, but I have a cheap saw just like this that can cut almost a perfect plane on the side of the wood being cut and much faster, so something must have been off there I think.
The disadvantage of this saw is that there is no automatic chain oil lubrication. As soon as the chain heats up for the first time, the hardening of the teeth will disappear and it is useless to sharpen further, it is already soft. Oil is essential for the chain, not only to reduce friction, but also for cooling.
That day, I slept quietly in the corner of the shop I came from a distant land, Destined to cut the branches of durian trees But I couldn’t move, dreaming within my slumber Taken by gentle hands, I felt warmth "Why won't you move?" a voice of sadness But believe in me, feel my heart "Repair me, let me shine once more" The magic of human hands heals me My worn body revived anew Each small part holds life With delicate adjustments, life is breathed in The wind whispers softly, "It's okay now" Seeking branches, I can work again A small saw fulfilling its mission Singing a song of joy Moving towards the future, on a path of adventure The heart of the saw regains its shine In the time we spend together A new story is woven
brush type DC motor has only short time life....maybe less than some 100 hrs...
Cool repair! It would have been nice to see more about why the motor didn't work. Was there something obvious that I don't see as a non-expert (besides it just being old and dirty/brittle)? Or was it just like, let's take it apart to see if there's anything easy to fix, nope can't tell what's wrong so I replaced it?
one carbonbrush was gone and the rotor was was worn because it was rubbing the brushspring (dont know what to call it in english) a while. Though imo I think the rotor was still usable😉
Could we just have a moment of silence, for the departed record player cover, that was being used as your wash basin?????? Heh heh heh!!! Just kidding Sir, nice to see you have a proper wash tub now... Great job! The only reason I know that is, I had that turntable, and I broke the cover, and had to find another one....
Now you really need to fix the motor brush and make it work again. Looks like if you bought a brush and cut it down to proper size and clean the contacts on the motor armature, you will have a fixed working motor again...go for it...
Лучший, спасибо за потраченное время!!! Здоровья тебе и твоей семье!!!

that's so cheap that if cuts it's a miracle already
Heh, fair
Obviously the chain edge is doomed

Moving towards the future, on a path of adventure
The heart of the saw regains its shine
In the time we spend together
A new story is woven
Cool, but it needs a new chain asap
