@@dennise8898 I highly doubt there will be any massive performance changes ever. Some minor fps gains here and there, stuttering will be fixed over time but in general... welcome to UE5. It´s not as if previous games on this engine ran that great on anything but high end cards. Some worse then others but the bottom line is, it´s a hardware hog. Looks nice so.

The initial FPS on this game coming from a 1060 shocked me, I was expecting at least high 30s. I am yet to understand how there are games like Battlefield (pretty much all of them) which have gorgeous graphics all way around and can run with excellent FPS counts even on lower end GPUs. I beg all of those developers to share that wuju magic of optimizing games...

This game has entire gameplay features broken/missing so optimization was probably low on the list of priorities. But having an engine that you designed in house probably does help developers determine what and where to cut to get more performance.

This is exactly the reason why I did not pick up the game right away on release. I will just wait a bit so they optimize it a bit better and fix some issues. I have 5700XT and Ryzen 5 3600 in my system, and when I saw that 5700XT barely hits 30FPS on 1080p low settings I just told to my self, hell no for now.

It's hilariously bad, and all the new features they raved on about are half baked at best, demanding absurd amounts of computing power for marginal visual improvements. It's a complete failure of an engine. Then again, I guess Stalker wouldn't be Stalker without a bad engine huh. The original trilogy's X-Ray engine ran on nothing but hopes, dreams and vodka lmao

I'm glad these videos exist because the big "gamefluencers" really dropped the ball when communicating to their viewers how broken this game is on low-midrange hardware. Plenty of their viewers are going to buy this game thinking that the only issues are the bugs, visual glitches and the cpu bottleneck. Steam should really force them to revise the minimum specs until they fix this. I'm viewing this on 13 inch screen and it looks atrocious.
A game that looks literally ugly on low settings shouldn't run this bad on a 1060. This is an insult to the legendary gpu. UE 5 sucks. i own a 4070 but this is bullshit.
It's baffles me some people give this game a pass for such a horrible performance but were carrying the torch to burn down CDPR after CP2077. Both had atrocious performance for launch, but atleast CP2077 was playable og a mid range pc at the time.
CP77 "atrocious" performance at launch? On PC? Did you play it back then? I still have Cyberpunk 1.04 on an external drive and it runs absolutely fine, even with RT enabled. Frame time is good and game runs smooth. That's December 2020 version. Kept it as I wanted to revisit all the hilarious bugs. Of those 77 had a lot. Performance problems it didn't have on PC at least. Consoles is another matter.
@0-B1 I honestly don't remember if I even updated drivers back then. The game crashed like five times in about 60 hours playing it through. People shit a lot on Cyberpunk but the only systems where there were true issues were last gen consoles with their slow AMD Jaguar/Bobcat cores. All I'm saying is, performance was good on PC and game looked fantastic, too.
You're right at launch cyberpunk had a lot of bugs on every platform but performance wise pc was acceptable. It was ps4 and xbox one where the performance was baffling.@@Ford.Prefect

Ngl I did alt F4 tf out of the game last night after a directional view bug, entered a house and my view got locked in on a specific area of the building..
This is the first game I've played that uses UE5 lumen. As graphically intense as it is, I think lumen actually adds a lot to the gameplay experience. The game is terrifying in missions/side-quests where you're drudging through a cave or some dark facility, or the way a room is completely dark with no light source, or when you shine your head light down a long hallway and the opening at the end is a pitch black abyss. I usually don't care much about graphics, but I can say that I don't think my stalker 2 experience would have had quite the impact without UE5's lumen.
To people comparing Stalker 2 with CP2077 i will say “no”. This is not CP2077 moment. I had no problems with CP and with performance. On the other hand, Stalker 2 runs like shit on my 4090. Not mentioning tons of bugs and softlocks, that i didn’t have in CP2077.
People forget, for PC at least, CP2077 did work quite fine on launch. Sure the bugs were quite rampant but compared to console versions performance wasn't as bad as Stalker 2. CDPR clearly made a bit more effort for the PC port.

It's down to the devs to do that, I guess just threw lumen and nanite at the game and called it a day. That's an easier way to produce lighting and reflections. To allow us to disable those effects, they'd need to implement another type of lighting and reflections that might look worse (although not much worse) but they're 5x easier to run, and they chose not to

Instead of setting up light probes for GI, or reflection planes, or even just to enable object and image based lighting without manually setting up dedicated lights, you basically just click the box and go. It really is that easy to use. Though there’s a performance penalty, this is far, far faster than using Cycles (which is a proper, fully Path Traced engine). I imagine part of the problem with Lumen performance on modern hardware, is that hardware ray tracing was not designed for the psuedo ray tracing that Lumen uses. Fast triangle intersection calculations aren’t useful if we’re only using screen space data.
I'm curious how the GTX 980 Ti would run this game. I meets that VRAM requirement and is faster in games (from what I've seen) It's also crazy how they put this game out, saw the 1060 getting 19 FPS and went "yeah that's good"! Or they did upscaling which shouldn't be allowed for what cards meet the frame rate, personally
considering there is a huge performance bump from 1060 to 1070, i think the 980ti is definitely better than 1060, but maybe 85% as efficient as a 1070?

Game still looks good even on 720p low , i am playing the game on 7900 xt 4k full setttings and at native AA 30 fps above all the time , also if i activate fsr quality 50 fps overall . I know fps is not that perfect but man the grphics are awesome. I wish more devs do games like this. It is also absolutly a good game for gameplay same as graphics.
I always have to laugh when younger people (most people) complain about low resolutions and low frame rates. I can remember playing Doom at 320x240 at 30 fps if you were lucky. And 640x480 was for beast machines that also were lucky to get 30 fps. Man I'm old.

it's just that some devs are making their games for the 4070ti super, like it's a console. CoD plays at 40fps in 4K ultra with the 3060ti. Why buy a new graphics card for just like 3-4 games?
@@ZechsMerquise73 i love my 3060 ti but the 8gb vram is a problem (in 1440p) in most games it is currently fine but there are already some that need 12GB, and that number will only grow in the future. i love to say when my card barely hit 60 fps even with dlss on that its the game fault for being unoptimized, and the sad reality most of the time its true now days games want you to use dlss and newer gpu to run their game instand of do the work and optimizing the game, now i can complain and hope this will change with newer games (it will not) or bite the dust and upgrade, now you can say i can lower the graphics settings but i am the type of guy who want the best quality settings with 60+ fps and lowering more then high bugs me.
i would eventualy find interesting if you test just a bit medium settings when you try minimum requierment, because most of the time, quality improve a lot and performance won't suffer too much for it !
5800X3d rtx3080 @1440p high dlss runs 80-90fps, with drops to 40-50fps in towns with a lot of npcs. Epic runs 5fps less or so but i enjoy the game, stalker was my favorite gaming series even with their flaws.
Disabling motion blur in UE5 resulting in severe ghosting when moving, i had to use low motion blur to reduce ghosting, so yeah here's hoping they gonna fix that aspect of UE5 alongside traversal stuttering.
You know what, I myself have a 5700xt and I know its not new gen or anything but its still a very solid card. BUT it has a reason why I havent bought any UE5 game till now. Bro despite having a slightly older gpu I dont accept that I need to buy a current gen gpu for playing anything above 30fps. A few years back you could buy a gpu and play games 5-6 years upcoming with good graphics (see 1080ti wich still holds up VERRRRY well to this day)

This GPU was a budget king few years ago. Surpassed by 1660, but still packs a punch. Pascal just isn´t that great with UE5.... I thought, after first UE5 demo showcase, it will be a godsend, but it is simple to develop in, but bastard to optimize apparently. What UE5 game is well optimized? I somehow cannot remember one....
Man, I have the high-midrange PC....Ryzen 7 5700x and RX 6650 XT and 32mb DDR4 RAM... I wonder how that's gonna work out for me. I generally don't have any issue playing stuff at max and high settings @1080p. I usually get over 100fps even with stuff exploding all over. I am waiting for some patches and a sale for Stalker 2 anyways, I have a backlog I need to clear some things off of and a few games I still haven't finished after years. Maybe I will just get it for PS5. 😂
Man at least this look better than whatever Bodycam was and comes with Xbox Gamepass, I'd still wait for some patches to see if they fix certain performance issues, don't have to double the fps but fix the crazy out of vram 5fps stuff and cpu bottleneck in settlements areas that have like 10 npcs.
HRD seems to crash mine , it turns off a few minutes into gate and auto hdr try’s to come on and crashes it . Turned it off and seems to ok . Apart from performance drops from 100fps right down to 20 in certain places . Shambles .

I highly disagree with the CPU Point. Other Testers reached up to 20-30 fps more with a better Cpu then mine. In my case its the Ryzen 5800 3dx and a Radeon 6800. I got about 60-70 FPS. as i said other testers used the same GPU but a newer and better Cpu and got to 80-100 fps.
I played the True STALKER mod the other day that runs on an updated version of the original xRay engine and it struggled to get 60 FPS on an Intel Arc A580. This has literally 0% chance of running on my PC. Same as happened with The Forever Winter, I'm not buying games if "low" graphics still mean that I can't run anything.
I think its really easy to make games with Unreal Engine 5....that is the only reason why Devs will continue to make games using this shit engine despite everyone hating it

I had to retire my 1060 earlier this year. Such a good card that served me well.

Use TSR built in upscaler, screen res manualy 50% - it is better than FSR311 58% or XESS13 - which don't know how to deal with stalker's UE5.1 - Maybe AMD and Intel would need to update their upscaler libraries. - Minimum req is meant to be 30 FPS with TSR upscaler 50% already accounted in 🤣

This is the first game I've played that uses UE5 lumen. As graphically intense as it is, I think lumen actually adds a lot to the gameplay experience. The game is terrifying in missions/side-quests where you're drudging through a cave or some dark facility, or the way a room is completely dark with no light source, or when you shine your head light down a long hallway and the opening at the end is a pitch black abyss. I usually don't care much about graphics, but I can say that I don't think my stalker 2 experience would have had quite the impact without UE5's lumen.
I am getting around 55 fps with xess and 11 fps with fsr there is something wrong with fsr in this game

To people comparing Stalker 2 with CP2077 i will say “no”. This is not CP2077 moment. I had no problems with CP and with performance. On the other hand, Stalker 2 runs like shit on my 4090. Not mentioning tons of bugs and softlocks, that i didn’t have in CP2077.

True dat my 2080ti ran cyberpunk day 1 at release but I can't even play Stalker 2 at all..
The comparison comes from bugs, which are even worse and numerous than Cyberpunk.
People forget, for PC at least, CP2077 did work quite fine on launch. Sure the bugs were quite rampant but compared to console versions performance wasn't as bad as Stalker 2. CDPR clearly made a bit more effort for the PC port.
@@brzi6504 i had only few bugs on the release version of Cyberpunk. No bugs that braked progression like in stalker 2. I watched these videos of CP bugs compilations and thought “wtf is this???”.

I have an rx 6700 xt, 32gb of ram, ryzen 9 3900x. And it runs pretty well at 2k balanced fsr and frame gen on at high settings ! This gpu is the new gtx 1060
I play on medium with upscaling and it gets around 30 fps with tsr quality. Looks amazing too

Why cant we have options to turn off ray tracing and high intensity lighting systems? Is there no simplified ways on rendering? Im not a computer guy, just a pleb console player

It's down to the devs to do that, I guess just threw lumen and nanite at the game and called it a day. That's an easier way to produce lighting and reflections.
To allow us to disable those effects, they'd need to implement another type of lighting and reflections that might look worse (although not much worse) but they're 5x easier to run, and they chose not to

Instead of setting up light probes for GI, or reflection planes, or even just to enable object and image based lighting without manually setting up dedicated lights, you basically just click the box and go. It really is that easy to use.
Though there’s a performance penalty, this is far, far faster than using Cycles (which is a proper, fully Path Traced engine).
I imagine part of the problem with Lumen performance on modern hardware, is that hardware ray tracing was not designed for the psuedo ray tracing that Lumen uses. Fast triangle intersection calculations aren’t useful if we’re only using screen space data.
I'm curious how the GTX 980 Ti would run this game. I meets that VRAM requirement and is faster in games (from what I've seen)
It's also crazy how they put this game out, saw the 1060 getting 19 FPS and went "yeah that's good"! Or they did upscaling which shouldn't be allowed for what cards meet the frame rate, personally
considering there is a huge performance bump from 1060 to 1070, i think the 980ti is definitely better than 1060, but maybe 85% as efficient as a 1070?

I have absolutely comfortable experience playing last COD with my old rx 580 and it's look pretty decent even on minimum settings , but this engine ue5 is a freaking joke

Game still looks good even on 720p low , i am playing the game on 7900 xt 4k full setttings and at native AA 30 fps above all the time , also if i activate fsr quality 50 fps overall . I know fps is not that perfect but man the grphics are awesome. I wish more devs do games like this. It is also absolutly a good game for gameplay same as graphics.
I always have to laugh when younger people (most people) complain about low resolutions and low frame rates. I can remember playing Doom at 320x240 at 30 fps if you were lucky. And 640x480 was for beast machines that also were lucky to get 30 fps. Man I'm old.

it's just that some devs are making their games for the 4070ti super, like it's a console. CoD plays at 40fps in 4K ultra with the 3060ti. Why buy a new graphics card for just like 3-4 games?
@@ZechsMerquise73 i love my 3060 ti but the 8gb vram is a problem (in 1440p) in most games it is currently fine but there are already some that need 12GB, and that number will only grow in the future. i love to say when my card barely hit 60 fps even with dlss on that its the game fault for being unoptimized, and the sad reality most of the time its true now days games want you to use dlss and newer gpu to run their game instand of do the work and optimizing the game, now i can complain and hope this will change with newer games (it will not) or bite the dust and upgrade, now you can say i can lower the graphics settings but i am the type of guy who want the best quality settings with 60+ fps and lowering more then high bugs me.

5800X3d rtx3080 @1440p high dlss runs 80-90fps, with drops to 40-50fps in towns with a lot of npcs.
Epic runs 5fps less or so but i enjoy the game, stalker was my favorite gaming series even with their flaws.
Disabling motion blur in UE5 resulting in severe ghosting when moving, i had to use low motion blur to reduce ghosting, so yeah here's hoping they gonna fix that aspect of UE5 alongside traversal stuttering.
You know what, I myself have a 5700xt and I know its not new gen or anything but its still a very solid card. BUT it has a reason why I havent bought any UE5 game till now.
Bro despite having a slightly older gpu I dont accept that I need to buy a current gen gpu for playing anything above 30fps. A few years back you could buy a gpu and play games 5-6 years upcoming with good graphics (see 1080ti wich still holds up VERRRRY well to this day)
Oh my god here we go again, I have a 2070 that came out 5 years ago and I'm getting 60-100fps in and away from town. With DLSS Q, FSR FG, 1440p, med-high. Upgrade your cpu and a 5 year old card is MORE than playable. Good god how many people can say shit like "current GPU for +30fps" Its so fucking Bogus.

This GPU was a budget king few years ago. Surpassed by 1660, but still packs a punch. Pascal just isn´t that great with UE5.... I thought, after first UE5 demo showcase, it will be a godsend, but it is simple to develop in, but bastard to optimize apparently. What UE5 game is well optimized? I somehow cannot remember one....
It just needed one more year of cooking. Now we have to wait for 100 patches to be playable.

Man, I have the high-midrange PC....Ryzen 7 5700x and RX 6650 XT and 32mb DDR4 RAM... I wonder how that's gonna work out for me. I generally don't have any issue playing stuff at max and high settings @1080p. I usually get over 100fps even with stuff exploding all over.
I am waiting for some patches and a sale for Stalker 2 anyways, I have a backlog I need to clear some things off of and a few games I still haven't finished after years.
Maybe I will just get it for PS5. 😂
Man at least this look better than whatever Bodycam was and comes with Xbox Gamepass, I'd still wait for some patches to see if they fix certain performance issues, don't have to double the fps but fix the crazy out of vram 5fps stuff and cpu bottleneck in settlements areas that have like 10 npcs.
HRD seems to crash mine , it turns off a few minutes into gate and auto hdr try’s to come on and crashes it . Turned it off and seems to ok . Apart from performance drops from 100fps right down to 20 in certain places . Shambles .

Do you know the reason? When I enter the game it crashes. Is there a solution? No matter what I did it didn't work. I downloaded it again but it didn't work.
8GB of video RAM, go to minimum settings and you might get an hour before stutters

I highly disagree with the CPU Point. Other Testers reached up to 20-30 fps more with a better Cpu then mine. In my case its the Ryzen 5800 3dx and a Radeon 6800. I got about 60-70 FPS. as i said other testers used the same GPU but a newer and better Cpu and got to 80-100 fps.
I don't know how U can play @ 1080p low with 6GB od VRam. My RTX 2060 6GB can't handle it with 5800X3D because Ram is full and game stutters 5-7fps...

I played the True STALKER mod the other day that runs on an updated version of the original xRay engine and it struggled to get 60 FPS on an Intel Arc A580.
This has literally 0% chance of running on my PC. Same as happened with The Forever Winter, I'm not buying games if "low" graphics still mean that I can't run anything.
I think its really easy to make games with Unreal Engine 5....that is the only reason why Devs will continue to make games using this shit engine despite everyone hating it
When they write 1080p/30 or 60fps on the recommendation , it's not the bare minimum but the average.

You run from a hd? it takes a minute to load shaders with a ssd on my system.
Even for low settings a ssd is recommend.

I wanted to play this game and got the rig for it, but it dosent have proper controller support! For a game dropped on PS5 and xbox to not have proper controller support on PC is just beyond me, how could they drop the ball on that. I sure hope it gets fixed eventually

I hit 60FPS at 1080p - I suffer major frame drop in the populated towns.
The optimisation is horrid.
You guys don't understand, these games are actually advertisement for you to buy new graphics cards and PC parts.
Back in the day, the game dev used to optimize games, now they just slap frame gen and call it a day
