This is certainly an amazingly beautiful stately home. I can't even fathom that being someone's home, ever. My grandmother was from Edingborough, Scotland, (not quite sure of the spelling). I'll never be fortunate enough to visit, so thank you for sharing.

Marvelous! Evoked many memories of my numerous visits to Hopetoun House during the 1970s while I lived in South Queensferry. This videography visit was far more extensive than my "real-live" experiences, however. Thoroughly enjoyable; thank you!

Great video again David, we have visited Hopetoun many times and love the grounds. We usually end up in Queensferry and have a slap up meal of smoked sausage and chips down by the boats. Scotland is truly an amazing country, we have never regretted our move here, and after over 21 years are still finding new places to go see, some courtesy if your excellent videos of your travels...stay safe...👍

Hi David. Now that is one stately home I haven't visited, definitely on my list for next summer when I get back for a few weeks hopefully, looks like a great place for the family to spend an afternoon. Really enjoyed the close up shots of the bees etc , beautifully done!

I didn’t think I’d be ever be interested in such a stately home but your video has made me add it to my to-do list for my next trip there. awww.... thanks Inga :-) It's well worth a visit, especially if you combine it with a visit to South Queensferry which is just minutes away. The house tour is brilliant and the woodland walks are just beautiful, with amazing views of the bridges and the Firth of Forth. They have an excellent tea room in the old stables, which I hope will be up and running again next year. If not, a picnic in the grounds is ideal. They also run a farm shop a little further down the road and if you're an Outlander fan you can visit Midhope Castle which is very popular. There's also a ranger centre with ranger led walks which is great for any nature lovers. We love going to the Scotts restaurant at Port Edgar Marina for breakfast and then having a walk along the front at South Queensferry. Thanks again and have a great weekend. Best wishes, David :-)

Hi Linda, I’m not aware of any buses that go from South Queensferry to Hopetoun House. The best way may be to use a local taxi firm and arrange for them to come back for you at a set time. Hope this helps, it’s a fabulous place to visit. Best wishes, David
