- Daniel Printz of Bostic, NC, had brutally murdered an 80-year old woman. No one who would have seen him walking down the street to another nearby parking lot would have had any idea that a serial killer was casually moving among them, satisfied with his kill and enjoying a warm, sunny day in South Carolina. No one would have suspected that he was on his way to put the woman’s body in shallow grave in the mountains of North Carolina.
This was at least his fourth kill and thanks to some carelessness on his part, it would be his last. Come with us as we look into the diabolic case of serial killer Daniel Printz.

I don't believe that anyone could just wake up one day in their fifties or sixties and suddenly become a serial killer,this guy was probably doing this his entire life,I hope they retrace his steps.

I was a cop for a city right outside of Atlanta. We would respond to every missing person immediately. Whether it was an elderly adult or a child, all units would respond to search the area (unless they were on an emergency call). The fire department and EMS also joined every single search. The 24hr rule needs to be abolished across the country.
I live right outside of Atlanta too in the southern part towards Thomaston Ga. I love Georgia so much I've lived here my whole life and will be buried here too.
Did y'all often find people upon the immediate search?

Agreed. Cops responding immediately is why my niece was saved when her grandmother tried to kidnap her. Lady couldn't even get her into her truck before cops showed up. And thats the Douglasville police, they're not the best of the best but they care and definitely come off more personable than several other states and counties ive lived in. Grateful for those few good cops who genuinely give a shit about the people they're protecting, I wish yall were the majority.

Britney- Hi. I just want to say 1000% you are not alone. My grandmother, Eleanor Swift, met a similar fate in FL in 1987. Unfortunately, her killer is still at large. Her cold case has been re-opened and it is a wait n see for us. There is also another victim.
My grandmother was a guiding light in my life and a source of great love and strength unmatched. I will miss her forever.
I have lost sleep. And though the sleepless nights are countless, waiting on the wheels of justice, I believe the law will keep seeking and the law will find answers eventually. I have faith and undying hope.
Also, I was happy for you in this way. Due to the criminal's apprehension, in Edna's case, you may now rest a little easier. It is never fully closure, but we can have a renewed peace or can take solice in a increased sense of safety. Just knowing that there is one less serial killer roaming the streets, so freely, it has got to make some relief! One less loved one hurt, perhaps another granddaughter sparred from becoming forever scarred. Yesss!
Since our family's tragedy, it seems that I am always the one who's so aware of my surroundings, other's people's safety etc. Because we see how quickly they can act. We learn in this video, just how fast a killer can move. I'll always feel I am almost overly cautious. More and more I am armed with protection if out in public in broad daylight these days. Since a killer robbed us of a loved one, & it turned my 17 year old world upside down, it is a miracle that my trust issues are controlled and managed not full blown. I have grown in years, but her love feels as strong as yesterday. My grandmother, was also still active and sharp like your Edna. My grandma was to turn 85 the very next day, Valentine's Day, and we had plans to see the play, Funny Girl! The killer made other arrangements.
No one knows how hard this hits, until it is someone close to them. But when I read this post, I felt for the first time, on line, I see there is someone on this comment thread that fully understands and loved their grandma too. I always felt that my grandmother was a light. I 'll miss her always. God be your strength to carry you through Britany. I am sorry that this happened to your grandma, affecting your family too. I feel & empathize with your pain! Hugs!

I appreciate that before going into the story, the narrator took some time to express condolences for the victims. Most channels don't do that. Class act.
He does it before every video. He mentions the name(s) of the victim(s) and gives condolences to the friends and family.

He is a psychopath. His brain is not wired like a normal brain. They are able to capitalize on the generalized public believing that everyone's brain is wired, somewhat, the same way. They are not. The 24 hours waiting thing is a myth perpetrated by the media for dramatic purposes. There was never such a law/rule. You should always report a missing person immediately.
Yeah the timing is a bit suspicious. I suspect they jumped on this simply for who she was, and her connection to law enforcement.
Remember, they still wait 24 hours unless there's special circumstances like mental illness etc. Not special? You wait. :(

It’s kinda eerie to know that we may be walking past or even have conversations with someone who may be a killer, rapist or criminal in general and wouldn’t even know.
Even weirder how some of these killers could be holding high government positions and their serial killings and mass murders are considered nothing more than acceptable collateral damage.

I can't imagine how many crimes have gone unsolved in the past due to no security cameras.
About a third of murders are never solved. Surprisingly, nationally, the clearance rate went from 67% in 1980 to 58% in 2019, seems like the cameras aren't helping a whole bunch to solve murders, but hopefully they prevent some.

@@loveforeignaccents No longer under investigation, because they are closed (rather than gone cold). Usually it means solved, through charges being laid, but can also mean not solvable, like if all the participants went down in a plane crash, or if a case is found to not be a murder after all. When an investigation is completed, rather than gone cold, which is when they give up although the solution has not been found.
I love it when these cameras catch these morons in action. Cameras should be every where.

It’s not that crazy. Take a good look around next time you’re in public. How many people do you see with their phones stuck in their faces? Or intentionally keeping their heads down and not looking at anyone/anything. THEN there’s all the people that don’t want involved in drama and will either leave to avoid questioning or flat out lie and say they didn’t see anything. This was my store. I am a manager at that food lion and was closing the store the night the cops came in at 1130 pm and I was the one who pulled all of the camera footage shown here.

I'd bet money there's more murders he's responsible for. Very rarely do people start killing in their old age, and become serial killers in their retirement. Plus it looked like he knew what he was doing, like he'd had a lot of practice.
I wld guess that too, but he has the ego to want to brag about his crimes. And he cleared the way so his penalty would not be greater if he confessed to more killings, so it makes me think maybe there are not any more. 🤷🏻♂

But serial killers like to keep some of their victims bodies hidden to use as leverage, to get better accommodations, tvs, better food, etc. And they usually get their way because police want to return the victims bodies back to their loved ones, and give their families some sort of closure.

@@bobdole7292 you're right it really doesn't do that much but when you are already profiting of their suffering and basically making their loss someone else's entertainment the very least they could do is spent a couple seconds on that procedure and show some respect. Not many true crime channels acknowledge the families which is actually so important because not all of them would feel comfortable their loved ones story being sensationalized like that. At least that's my opinion.

I just found out today that this guy is my Stepdads Uncle. My step dad explained how he was an “oops baby”. Considering he’s only two years older than my stepdad. I’m still in shocked knowing we have a serial killer in the family, and my heart goes out to the victims families.

Remember that there’s no such thing as a smart criminal. If they were smart, they wouldn’t be a criminal.
But, mostly in the big cities. I was a victim of a hot & run last summer. Because only 2 businesses had cameras, not aimed towards the street, no one got him on film. Witnesses were falsely reporting a white jeep hit me. It was a pick up truck. I only got a partial on his plate. He was never caught. I've got the partial memorized so if he's smart, he'll change his plate, & truck color. It wasn't white. Out of my town & the 2 smaller towns next to me, there's probably a total of maybe 10 cameras, facing public activity. An elderly business owner & his wife were recently beaten & robbed in their own home for the 2bd time. The person knew where to go. Their guard dog never alerted. They were beaten with a crowbar & hospitalized. The guy took the wife's gun before she could shoot him. He had it on him when thw cops captured him, after shooting him in the hip. This stuff never happens around here. Fortunately for them, one camera captured a fuzzy photo of his face. After the cop asked a bunch of us locals if we knew who he was, he was tracked down & arrested.
Literally stayed at that hotel when visiting my wife's dad. Drove from Missouri nonstop around the same time and stayed the weekend there. Freaking crazy. My wife growing up there kept saying how safe and quiet it was. Crazy world anymore.

As a single woman who has to hire repair work for my house fairly frequently, this is so scary. I try to be cautious of who I get to do repair work but good help is hard to find. I usually ask friends and family for recommendations. This man looks "normal" and I would not suspect him of being a serial killer. I think serial killers are harder to recognize or catch in that there is not a "normal" motive and they seem to have little emotional connection to the killings.
Always have a friend there.

Edna wasn’t just elderly and vulnerable but she was a kind, caring loving person too! As I’m sure the other victims were also. Why do these monsters punish the nice innocent people in this world?
When a lot of men get out of jail they become handymen, do lawn care, or work on cars. They do this type of work because they work for themselves and have no background checks either. That vast majority of these men are genuinely trying to turn their lives around, unfortunately some of them aren't & it makes it easier for them to continue a life of crime. My heart aches for these women and their families.
That's why it's cool that anyone can now do a background report online affordably.
This is so scary to be an elderly person and having a handyman come to your house to help you fix the house and instead they hurt you. Very heartbreaking. So very hard to trust people. Rest in peace to all the victims. 🙏
It’s a tough realization that you become prey. Hubby’s grandma got taken in by a ‘Traveller’ who said ‘have extra tar to cover your driveway for $75.’ Granny took the deal and they stopped at 1/3 way declaring it would be more to finish, $900 to be exact. Hubby’s mom went ballistic over her mom getting taken and promptly got her mother into a ‘senior residency’ sold her house--with newly tarred driveway that fell apart after a year--just because she was seen as an easy target. Who gets punished?? Not that damned Traveller, for sure!

Yes, beware / be aware of any contractors or home service people in your home. Especially the random ad hoc ones not affiliated with an established company. It's not worth saving a few bucks like that.
I'm talking lawn people, drywallers, roofers, painters, etc. Probably more okay when it comes to the people with formal training like HVAC, electricians, plumbers, but keep an eye on the helpers/assistants.
I have personally dealt with several painters in my job. I wouldn't trust one EVER based on my experiences. 90-95% were 'off' or confirmed drug users / drunks and definitely liars.
I used to work in people's homes doing a couple of side hustles. It always amazed me how trusting people were. First of all, I *always* assume I am on camera when in a person's house. But even so, it always boggled my mind how many homeowners just left their doors open. For me or just in general.
They kinda lucked out because I could be trusted, but how could they know if I was a recovering addict due for a relapse, had criminal tendencies, or knew shady people I disseminated their household intel to (inadvertently or on purpose)?

I was an installer for an ISP once and people would literally tell me “the door is unlocked just go on in and do what you need to do.” People are unbelievably trusting for people coming into their homes to do various work. 😬
It's disgusting that these cowards go after the weakest in our society. So many elders never get to enjoy their retirement and last days. So many murders just like this happen all the time. I volunteered to take care of my 98-year-old grandma. I would never let anything happen to her. She is going to go from natural causes one day. I'm proud of taking the time to make sure she is comfortable and enjoying her time here with us.
The lady who called for a wellness check saved more ladies lives. If it was not for her who knows how many more.

Man, 80 years old and she was still there for people in so many ways. It sounds like Edna was a goddamn treasure. All murders are horrible, but the ones who are really lively and engaged with the world around them, those hit differently. I bet she affected a lot of lives in a lot of good ways. Sad that she was taken before her time.

It's scary how believable he is. Like if you didn't see the evidence, you'd think you have the wrong guy.

Maybe that is one of the reasons that less than 3% of all missing persons and murder cases are ever really solved.

So if you've ever wondered why people can be so stupid as to kill and expect to get away with it, that's why. Half of them do.

And many, many more on a global level. Many of them have probably been murdered, but we have no idea where they even are. And many of these children become the slaves of the very worst ultra wealthy criminals on the planet that operate completely above all 'laws'!
Mr. "Control" Printz definitely has more victims under his belt. Not all of them will necessarily be dead, but there will be some who are. No one comes by the ability to kill this smoothly or cavalierly without a lot of practice. He just didn't used to get caught with the big stuff, and probably talked his way our of a lot of small stuff. Someday, when Printz decides that he needs something (could be a physical item, fame, or who knows what else), he'll name drop again later.

It was so obvious he was guilty by the way he was talking. An innocent person would be wondering why they wanted to talk to them and only answering short answers to questions. He was going into minute detail about the situation. A huge red flag. I wonder if Edna knew that he had done a long stretch inside for kidnapping. I bet she didn't, poor thing. Even though he had served his time can someone who has done that ever really be trusted again? Sad for the wife too but why was she staying with someone who could perform a kidnapping? I would never trust someone who had done that again.

I can hear the stress and strain of the lies of his voice in that interrogation room. The investigator did his best but he gave away his hand too early on. A more skilled interrogator could’ve gotten him tied into knots with his own lies.

It was clear right off the bat this guy was going to weave never ending unrelated bs stories, and claim he didn’t remember specifics.. they caught on quick and knew he might catch on quick too and lawyer up before they could actually get him talking. If they waited too long he may have been satisfied he had given the run around and wasn’t tripped up. Catching him off guard with the overwhelming photo evidence early was the best shot they had getting him to say anything incriminating. Otherwise he’d talk for hours but actually say nothing.
I like this technique, I bet it got his heart racing. He almost cracked about wiping down the vehicle. They should have pressed that more. He knew it looked sketchy and they could have poked holes.

I live in travelers rest. It was so astonishing to see this man walk around the food lion when this was reported. It really does happen any where. This is definitely one of those small towns with a small town feel and to realize you’re might be walking beside a serial killer is unnerving. I’m just baffled how I hadn’t heard about this. This is my hometown. My best friend even hadnt heard about it and she’s always watching the news. Todd Koehlhepp was covered nonstop, but not this. How odd.

It’s so sad when a serial killer makes our wonderfully small and quaint town of Travelers Rest famous. It really is a truly beautiful and unique place to live and we love it here.
The Food Lion is right behind the hotel, which is right beside my kids school. I was sitting in the car line somewhere in front of that hotel when he parked that car in the lot, as I am every school day at that time. Learning only later that a serial killer had been a matter of feet away…crazy.

I know this is a horrible story, but am I the only one who was shocked at how beautiful and NOT 80 yr old looking she was? He was over 20 yrs younger but couldn’t hold a candle to her. (Where did that saying come from anyway? 😝) RIP to all the women and their loved ones.

He was convicted of killing 49 women (but confessed to many more). She said he was the kindest, most thoughtful man she ever met. Most other prolific serial killers, it was the same kinda thing.

Very rarely is not better covered through narration summing up the interrogation. So many interrogations have such poor audio quality you can’t even understand it without reading the captions.

She had to be at least somewhat disoriented because a dead body is A LOT heavier than you'd think & hes in view of others so she wasn't fully lifeless then I'd think.
