I’m 23 and crocs have been popular since I’ve been in elementary school. I feel like the way they keep creating different styles of the shoe allows them to be trendy no matter the generation you’re from because they have so many patterns/styles/builds of the shoe that everyone could find a croc they like if they look hard enough.

@laini ozark, just to let you know Verbatim does not mean “literally”, although it might seem like it can. Verbatim means in the exact words, its used in differentiating quoting from paraphrasing
I did not understand Crocs until I moved to a tropical country. My nice leather shoes have been decimated by the heat, humidity and getting caught out in the rain. I’ve gotten on the croc train. Sandals and flats only - even I have my limits with those clog things!
Ballet flats a trend?? No, they have been around like since forever. I recall wearing a red patent pair them in the 1980s. My bf wore real ballet slippers back when I was in high school as part of her British punk look. I have had many pairs since, in velvet, suede, leather... Timeless classics from my own wardrobe include Breton tops and polka dot button down shirts.
the mesh shoes/slippers were huge in the latino community in LA in the early 2000s. i was 8 yrs old and had an aqua pair and black pair. my mom didn’t want to get them for me because she considered them “poor” people shoes. interesting that it’s become popular again but not with latinos.
I may be really wrong but the mesh shoe is the clean girl version of the clear PVC heels which are a baddie version of the jelly shoe. Everything pretty much is not timeless, but the underlying concept is. In this case, what's "timeless" about these pieces is the shoe being see-through. The silhouette is trendy, and the material is the fad.
I'm kinda weirdly glad that I'm a plus size living in a small Asian country, so whatever is trending right now i can avoid since 90% of the items don't even come in my size 💀💀💀
the mesh shoes first came out around like 2005 or something. I was in college lol. I think they are kind of a spin-off of the jelly sandal...which was popular when I wan in middle school! LOL. Im an old millennial. crocs coming back? to me this is the first time theyve been popular as a fashion statement. theyre weird to me. make my feet look ugly. I think theyre cute on toddlers and thats it. theyre not even supposed to be a water show as they are not waterproof lol.
I’m older and leopard print is ugly and it has been around off and on for years. Polka dots for me is for older ladies and your right timeless. Good information And I don’t like crocs either
I actually hate crocs so much. I keep seeing people on my tt saying that the birkenstock bostons are ugly and then I look at their page and see crocs and I get so pissed off. Personally I have been wearing clogs since I was 6 (I live in the country kinda) and I love them to death. I bought crocs in 2020 and a few weeks later I started to hate them I couldn’t slide them on without socks because they have some pointy spots on the soles which aren’t good if you need to actually walk and I realized that I fell for a trend since I thought that they were actually quite hideous. anyways I hate crocs so very much, and I will never be repurchasing them in the foreseeable future. go buy Bostons they r cute and a good material (= lasts long).
I would love if your videos could incorporate a more diverse range of body types in the picture examples! A lot of the looks you discussed like the micro shorts for example I really only see styled on skinny/ not thick thighed people. I know that every body can where whatever they want, but it’s unrealistic to see a size 2 girl and think that the way she’s styling something will look good on a size 10+ girl. when I don’t see people who look like me or bigger styling certain items, it just feels like we shouldn’t wear it unless we are skinny. Idk I would just love if on every look you can maybe diversify the images to help out the bigger gorls!
I don't really believe anything will ever truly be "out of fashion" or never ever come back...this is because there will be people who keep wearing stuff when other people stop. So, I think the question to ask is that is your idea of "in style" so linked to the general public's opinion that when it's not popular, it's no longer stylish? What dictates what is truly stylish? A general agreement or a singular belief? Which is more important? :)
im going to date myself but whatever.. the mesh shoe slipper was MY SHOE during my high school, summer days in 2007,2008. I would wear this with a fitted ribbed white tank with plain black basketball shorts from Target's boys section and my best friend wore the same thing. This slipper would literally last all summer then break at the end of it... I bought mine from Santi Alley in Downtown LA , three for a dollar and they were great for the three month duration lol
i’m so confused so are the frye boots not timeless?? I feel like they’ve been worn by people for decades and they’ve never looked bad? If its a fad does that mean its not a good investment….
also I am very blessed with a grandma who has been collecting gifts for me from all of her travels over the years and so i totally love what you said about jewelry stacks. each one means something to me. i love love love wearing heirlooms.

the mesh shoes/slippers were huge in the latino community in LA in the early 2000s. i was 8 yrs old and had an aqua pair and black pair. my mom didn’t want to get them for me because she considered them “poor” people shoes. interesting that it’s become popular again but not with latinos.
love crocs even my lighting mc queen ones ⚡️
babe wake up new laini video dropped❤️
I wait for your videos ❤, please early 2024 winter fashion prediction 🙏
IMO- Crocs are timeless for the utility of crocs (comfy shoes to run a quick errand in, pool/beach, etc) but crocs as a piece of fashion is a fad!
I may be really wrong but the mesh shoe is the clean girl version of the clear PVC heels which are a baddie version of the jelly shoe. Everything pretty much is not timeless, but the underlying concept is. In this case, what's "timeless" about these pieces is the shoe being see-through. The silhouette is trendy, and the material is the fad.
guys wake up new laini video!!!
I think theyre cute on toddlers and thats it. theyre not even supposed to be a water show as they are not waterproof lol.
i love your glasses
I’m older and leopard print is ugly and it has been around off and on for years. Polka dots for me is for older ladies and your right timeless.
Good information
And I don’t like crocs either
I just reread that I apologize for the messiness
Pleaaaase I need a video for cute walking around the city shoes!
with you on the crocs I can not swallow them down
loved this
I think ballet flats are 100% timeless, esp if you are calling leopard print jeans timeless 🤷🏻♀️
I think they’re classics! But they’ve 100% gone in and out of style in the fashion world
@@LainiOzark Classics are timeless though, that's why they are classic lol.
salomon's are timeless for me bc my shoes are notorious for having untied laces so it's always good when shoes don't have them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I would love if your videos could incorporate a more diverse range of body types in the picture examples!
Im literally here 18 seconds after posting??? 😮
I had a pair of hot pink mesh shoes in 2003 😅
I don't really believe anything will ever truly be "out of fashion" or never ever come back...this is because there will be people who keep wearing stuff when other people stop.
"Have we ever seen a mesh shoe" Yes, as an UNDERWATER SHOE! THE ONES YOU WEAR AT STONEY BEACHES! That's what those remind me of!
The mesh shoe is a chancleta that our abuelitas wore
i’m so confused so are the frye boots not timeless?? I feel like they’ve been worn by people for decades and they’ve never looked bad? If its a fad does that mean its not a good investment….
Hey
Nice video and pleasant presentation as usual, thumbs up!!
👊😊👍
omg hi that's me at 13:00 😭😭😭
Maaaaybe fads are trends that haven't repeated themselves yet :) haha
being born in new jersey.....leopard print and french tips will ALWAYS be timeless

I had mesh flat slip ons when I was like 11. I’m 30

Frye boots, ballet flats, not trends and not fads. Leopard print has been on the trends list every season since we started making trend lists. Hate jelly shoes, probs because I remember them from the 80s, and they where for children.
never been this early lol
All of this makes no sense. Youre very young. Remember that and look back
i loovveee your shirt! where is it from??
