  • 40.8 damage per second according to Nav Alpha - is this the highest possible DPS build in the game? In any case, you are going to shred through enemy mechs with this 2x RAC5 and 6x Medium X-Pulse Laser build. Just be prepared to ride the heat scale like a boss - this mech puts out more heat than the sun. Enjoy!

MechWarrior Online is a free-to-play vehicular combat video game, officially launched during September 2013 by Piranha Games for Microsoft Windows. The game takes place within the larger #BattleTech universe. In MechWarrior: Online, players takes the role of a ""MechWarrior"" who pilots large bipedal combat vehicles known as BattleMechs (Mech for short). Players can customize their BattleMech with an array of weapons and equipment, and engage in 12 versus 12 battles, the outcome of which earns the players experience and c-bills for future BattleMech purchases and customization. There are currently seven game modes that involve protecting and attacking a single base (Assault), capturing and holding several points (Conquest), take and hold the center of the map (Domination), attacking a space defense system (Siege/Counter-Attack), protecting and attacking field bases with turrets and walls spread across the map (Incursion), and team death-match (Skirmish).

    You know, I wager this would actually be pretty good on the Battlemaster that has -100% RAC Jam Chance! Fire the XPulse and Rac until you're about to overheat, then just use your infinite RAC while falling back/getting to cover to cool down.

  • @T0tenkampf
    @T0tenkampf 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

    This build seems to exemplify how DPS isn't always a useful metric. This build spends more time cooling than shooting so actual DPS is less than half of theoretical. I am curious what DPM would be and if that is more useful in all cases since it considers cooling and heat soaked builds.

    • @SparrowNoire
      @SparrowNoire 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I find that DPS matters more the smaller/faster you are. If you can afford to get behind cover quickly to cool down, the time you expose yourself relative to the damage you do can come out in your favor. But inversely, the bigger you are, the heavier that punch needs to be to offset how long it takes to drag your phat behind into cover to cool down

    • @TheDashACorner
      @TheDashACorner 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That's why mechlab got the sustained DPS stat. In this case 6,9 sustained of 40,8 max dps.
      I rather play my KGC-000 with 15,1 to 21,7 or Koloss with 16,9 to 29,2.
      6,9 sustained is low sustained dps for a pure laserboat. A Warhammer IIC with pure Heavy Lasers 76 Alpha damage has around 9,5 sustained to 13,4 max dps.

    • @derzweig205
      @derzweig205 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheDashACorner Nope, you are doing it incorrectly. Just remove the lasers and change nothing else. That way you can see what the RACs alone can sustain. Over a longer period the DPS is actually somewhere between 14 to 17, plus you can add more heatsinks etc.. The lasers just help in scenarios where you can't use RACs or when you can make use of that big burst damage. The build also isn't meant for longer trading so nobody cares about those numbers anyway.
      The big problems are your exposure, those weak side torsos, and there are a lot of builds that can half you with just one shot so your DPS is in the basement. On the other hand, you can burst down any mech in a couple of seconds.

    • @TheDashACorner
      @TheDashACorner 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@derzweig205 Ya didn't know that the mechlab sustained DPS stat is braindead stupid in it's calculation. 14 dps is still low for 100% face + spread. DPS can get lower for more alpha (includes somewhat facetime), more range and less spread.

    This looks like it’s great at 1-1 fights where enemy teammates aren’t paying attention to your fight. It really shreds armor in shorts bursts of 3-5 seconds. Anything past that is asking for reprisals though 😆

      it's not a great build for beginners. RACs are complicated weapons to learn, the x-pulse make it easy to cook yourself, & Anis are really slow.
      try a fast Clan heavy 'mech like TBR-S with jump jets & large pulse lasers (if you add hero parts or just buy a TBR-BH you can add ECM to further protect yourself).
      I suggest (in order), learn how to:
      1) stay alive: manage heat, peek around corners, torso twist to spread damage, get in get out, manage ammo, etc. mobility is key here: 75+kph & jump jets. ECM or AMS help too.
      2) communicating & positioning with your team. follow calls & provide information. It's really important for beginners to try to find an experienced battle buddy to stick with & be a wingman
      3) learn the maps. notice in game 3 here the whole team just charged into the central low ground & got chewed up from all sides... Find spots with good cover & good visibility into the battle space like the red team did...
      4) play the objective. almost always two ways to win. you can really turn a game around if you force the enemies to run to their base to deal with you, or push them out of the circle. Even if you become a stick you can still play the objective (e.g. hide in a corner & shutdown in the circle or a capture point)
      5) dig into more advanced gizmos & builds later, once you've gotten good at the rest
      stick to low-heat weapons for now. LMGs & Pulse Lasers are a favorite combo. also LB-X ACs run cooler & are easier to score hits & learn to lead targets.
      SRMs are also a good beginner weapon as you don't need gizmos to make them work well & they do a lot of damage in a small package.
      I like to run one set of "spread" weapons & one set of "point" weapons, but you don't have to. Read up on the ghost heat scale.
      get good with the simple & fast tanky Clan stuff (say 55-85t). Vapor Eagle is another favorite, along with the quick Black Lanner.

      Really good info in the above info!
      The annihilator is not only slow it's the tallest largest mechvin the game which makes for a prime target.
      With bulk comes less movement and limited torso turn , so again making it harder to target fast mechs and linited torso twist to nitigate damage.
      The timberwolf as suggested has high mounted weapons systems making targeting and hill peeking prine strategies.
      Either way just have fun doing what you wannt.
      Good Luck!

    Damn that build racks up heat faster than a controversial twitter post.
    X-Pulse have to be made much cooler for the facetime they require to get to the same damage as their normal counterpart.
    Now try the same build but with regular pulses.
    I've looked into this Mech on mechdb to check what the HeatPerSecond stats are on the lasers for this mech.
    MedPulse: 1.1 (-0.02)
    MedX-Pulse: 1.8 (-0.09)
    Explains why it gets hot this fast, i think.

    Great video as always! I'm surprised you didn't have more button assignments for the weapons. I have a few dual rac builds and I switch between 1 and 2 racs by choosing different mouse buttons. It's a great way to control the heat in a tough battle. It can also help when a teammate walks in front of your wide mech.
