    Excellent video Phil on how to get a swing that is easier on the body for seniors! I don't want to gloat Phil, but I have you by 20 years (86 years old) and I have been playing golf for almost 70 years. Years ago, after acquiring severe pain in my left hip, I went to a more upright swing as you have demonstrated in this video. I don't get the 250 yard carry you do, but I am still playing well enough to get two firsts and a third in my flight at recent club tournaments. Also, I recently started back to the gym after a four year lay off because of Co-Vid and this has certainly been a positive factor in my recent success! Your channel has also redirected me on how I should now be playing as a senior golfer. Keep Up The Good Work Phil!! Always enjoy your input!

    Thank you Phillip and the whole Easiest Swing team. What Brian started and Sean, Phillip and Julian have created I believe will aid so many people to play this game well into their senior years. I currently have no back issues but your system makes so much sense to me that I’ve been transitioning my swing over to the Easiest Swing. I figure I’ll end up here anyhow, I might as well start down this path and avoid back issues. Previously if I played multiple days of 18 hole rounds, I’d be taking aspirin or ibuprofen to get through my second round. Now I feel I could play two 18’s in a day and still not be exhausted or sore.
    My biggest challenge now is dialing in my hands and wrists to get the club face through straight and rolling over on my backswing consistently. I’m trying to stay relaxed and reduce tension in my hands, arms, shoulders….. Just like anything in golf, it seems to be a journey. I appreciate having the Easiest Swing team as my guide on this journey!

    Thanks, great stuff! I had problems with my left (lead) knee collapsing through impact. Conventional teaching says to have flexed knees at address but in my case I was overdoing it. I've found I can adopt your method much easier by keeping my legs reasonably straight at address. This has improved my rotation through the ball and better ball striking.

      That’s well observed but TBH I struggle with this being too aggressive and recently worked on reducing this to great effect. I know now that a more passive leg action leads to better and easier ball striking. Feels like I am hardly giving it any power and yet the ball goes even further! I really like this as per my comments for other videos you have posted. My only problem is that my swing has become flat over recent years and fear that with a more upright address position my swing would become even flatter. Live to hear your thoughts. Kind regards. 😊

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That’s very interesting James you may find perversely that it’s easier to swing more upright from a taller stance as leaning over more can promote a flatter action. Worth doing some practice with an old club near a wall (behind you) so you can feel the contact with it when you get flat and be aware of the feeling of avoiding the wall. Good luck with that. 👍

  • @johnatchley9754
    @johnatchley9754 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

    This is interesting as I am 83, have played for over 62 years. Your swing looks very fluid and easy. Just saw a documentary on Annika Sorenstam, and hers looked a lot like yours. Two questions. It looks as if you allow your hips to sway back a little during the backswing instead of bracing agains a firm right leg. Golf can be frustrating. You have three or four things you know you need to do to make a good swing and contact. But you can unconsciously slip into forgetting one point while focusing on another. I find if I allow my trail leg sag back a bit on the backswing, I can’t get back on to my left side enough in the downswing and either hit a push to the right or a hook left. Consciously bracing against the right leg while turning back corrects this. Second, it seems like your arms are very relaxed in the backswing and you don’t worry about allowing the left arm to bend quite a bit. Is that so? Thank you.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi John thanks for getting in touch and wonderful to hear that at 83 you are still looking for improvement! I am working hard on the very thing you observed about my right leg at the moment but I am trying to get it to move more because this is a left over from the coil method you describe. I am finding that the more I can turn my right side and at the same time allow my left knee more lateral movement the better my whole action becomes. It’s a pit you are not a member of our online club as I have been documenting this weekly for a year now and letting the members know some of my struggles (it’s not all plain sailing! Even off scratch 😂). I too have to limit the number of thoughts and find generally I try to work on one thing at a time until it becomes instinctive and unconscious. Thanks for the comment on the left arm this is what I have been working on during the summer. So all in all my friend keep up the good work I’m sure better golf is ahead for both of us!

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi Dennis good question - if you keep your head still and shift your weight to your right foot your foot will want to roll over. However as soon as you allow your head to move a little laterally and then it will stay flat.

    Good video. All very good comments as well. Will follow the replies. I have another coach -Shawn Clement. Been with him for over 12 years. But I follow you guys also on YT and otherwise. Have the book by Brian and the Swing Caddy and even had a one on one with Sean Herron. Sometimes it gets difficult to decide what approach to take and that messes up the on course game. Lifting of the lead heel in the backswing is common between both the approaches and I do that now. Helps turn better without hurting the back. I am 69 and therefore that helps. Are we using the weight of the arm club unit and using gravity?
